    I so enjoyed this video. Though bittersweet, every loss in the garden opens up new opportunities. Your recipes are mouthwatering and I can't wait to replicate it with the oyster mushrooms that will soon be ready in my back yard. Thank you for setting my evening off on a peaceful easy vibe. ✌🏻

      Thank you so much Kelly! Indeed, life's cycle is sometimes sad, but also brings new opportunity. Oyster mushrooms in your backyard, yum! Did you inoculate wooden branches? ❤️

      @@thefarmingchefs no, I got lucky and they naturally grow on my property. I do have a few beds inoculated with wine caps and King Oysters should hopefully be fruiting soon!

      Thank you! We are big fans of the concept: let the produce do the talking ;) And cooking also should not take up your entire day, right? Thank you for this lovely comment :)

    Love the way it feels like we are just sitting at your table with a cup of tea for a catchip... thankyou...
    We have a cork oak in a pot here... his name is Corkie... 😀

      Hahaha Corkie, this is awesome! Thank you for this lovely message. You made my day, and I will now often think of a tiny little oak called Corkie. standing in a pot 'chillin'. Don't open too many wine bottles in front of him, that might cause to much distress :D They say the trees don't mind, but I am not sure I would like being stripped naked like that :D

    So sad about the tree. Such a feast that you made. And the olive oil! The herb garden! An emotional roller coaster of an episode. Love and hugs from us. PS: Please deliver the boxes to Porto❤

    Loved the way you cooked those mushrooms and their so big i don't think they grow here in the US , so is there another large mushroom ( that's if there's one here ) that i could use, y'all got the life on your mini farm hopefully one day soon I'll live off my piece of property growing what i plant and or raise, thank you for sharing. Larry

      Thanks Larry! They do grow in the States, but you guys have a lot more of the false ones, called the vomiter... which makes it a little more daunting to go forage. :D Portobello mushrooms also would work really well and oyster mushrooms can also be made like this! We are indeed super blessed here on this beautiful land. I wish the same for you and I am sure you will! Go for it, it did not become reality over night :) Sophie

    Is it not necessary to wash the quinoa ?

    • @thefarmingchefs
      @thefarmingchefs  3 місяці тому

      It is often advices, but not necessary. Washing quinoa takes care of the saponins, which create a bitter flavour. But most sold quinoa is pre-washed. I know that this particular brand does not need to be washed and is very mild in flavour :)

    did you need a permisson to fall a cork tree, as they are protected?

    • @thefarmingchefs
      @thefarmingchefs  3 місяці тому

      Yes, you do need a permission to fell Oaks. They are protected, but if they are dead, due to natural causes or "force majeure" you normally are allowed. Especially if they are a risk. You need to notify the camera though.
