Damn prob the BEST tutorial I've watched for multi-layering samples for dat classic hip hop vibe! Appreciate you using our site for it as well, thanks Navie 🔥🙏
hey tracklib
♥
yall needa get better samples fr
bro shut up@@kyo2555
@@kyo2555 Fr they still got trash
More old school boombap. Love it when you make one of these.
Thank you Aftermath! They are definitely fun to make
Likewise
Love boom bap as much as lofi, especially with jazzy tones to it
8:12 Some samples in Tracklib have "multi-tracks" which would have stems for the sounds. When there's a specific sound you like and you have this option, definitely utilize it. Much cleaner than EQ isolation.
Now this is a pro tip
the point of boom-bap is to not be clear
@@benceramay1997 dont gatekeep music let people have fun love
Should do a video on basslines because thats what i have the most lacking, and im pretty sure more people, staying on the root note and having very interesting basslines are very different so please consider making one video with this theme
Edit: I think my basslines are the best part of my production now lol
Hopefully we can like this enough that navie sees it.
I always blame the shitty speakers and headphones in my youth for my difficulties creating good bass lines..
@@Dubbudha basslines are hard man, for me its the hardest part in beatmaking so most of the times i just add the root notes, i wanna make them jump up and downn but they are always offkey, also drill slides hard when you want them subtle
Making real bass is super difficult for me… I’ll kill some 808 trap bass though. Realistic bass guitar bass though… nope
@@jonritchey8653 trap 808s are pretty easy tho, realistic bass and drill is where its at
Favorite 90s boom bap album? Mine is The Infamous.
PS make sure you don't miss out on my beat contest (details below)

GZA - Liquid Swords

I love yours boombaps dawg ! This kind of beat fits so perfect , also ! Perfect timming men , like always
That is a perfect recreation of 1994/1995 era beats.
😎 Thank you very much
I still have all of my old 90s beat tapes. Watching this makes me want to post them to my channel! "Jamma* Wun"
That bassline made this beat a banger! Awesome work!
This is sooooo dope! I learned a lot watching this. This is my favorite type of music to make. I followed your directions and added my lil swag to it and I love what I came up with. Thank you again!
This sounds awesome. I gotta admit, I wasn't 100% on board with the sample progression, but that bass really pulled it together. Never doubt Navie. Lesson learned. 👏🏿
Amazing as usual bro! I always get such valuable information from your tutorials. Thank you! 🙏🏾
First I hit like then I watch the video. Thank you for putting all your heart and efforts out for these videos. Learning a lot with speed from your videos bro 🙏 much love.

This video is dope! I grew up in the 90s boom bap era and you are spot on. 🤯
It was a good era, I must admit
@@NavieD right ! Such creative albums with such limited technology for the time. 🤙
Krush is really great. The automation features are neat, and it's sound can get real nice.
Decimort 2 is a joy to use. ❤️
Your explain is soo good . Every producer who want to make an old school style can take every idea from the tips . That is like masterclass for “choose” of every stuff you need in your beat
You could make a video where you explain how to arrange an old school beat . Transients, how to mix it to lower freq as a transition for the next hook or something else 🙏🏼
true
Smooth beat, I hope this comes out on a future beat tape
Beautifully done 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
bro this is fire. taking me back.
Thank you, these videos help so much🙌
Thank you, awesome video.
So we're just not gonna talk about Sample 2 he picked at 1:20?? Completely threw me off guard! 🤣☠️ Navie man, u never fail to keep us all entertained and educated. Thank you sir 🤝🏾

This beat reminds me of something a tribe called quest would spit on. Dope vid thank you for these over explained vids💯
I'm interested in hearing 'Baby Shark's as a grimy boom bap beat...dope....no matter how many times I watch this, I always learn something new, or a refresher in forgotten or overlooked techniques...dope!
Brb, chopping up baby shark into the most fire banger of all time 🔥
Killed that... 💯💯💯💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾😎
Thank you for posting this 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I am so happy and grateful for your content more specifically your knowledge regarding old school boom bap beats. Just wondering if you have a top 10's favorite old school boom bap list?
Yooo, Navie. Cool video, I watched the whole thing! I love sampling, but really strugled with this(
But noooow... )
Btw, that was cool vocal scratch FX. Can you do a complex tutorial how to do a realistic scratching with Shaperbox 2, or any other stuff, if you will find way how to)
And yeah, sorry for my English)
you are the GOAT 🙇🏽🙌🏽🔥
I love those 22 minutes type of videos ..

Currently writing a script for my next 22 minute type video :)

I like it, sounds like an OGC beat.
HOOOOOOOEEEY!!!! Some serious Big L vibes on this one G!!! Well done!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve been bumping Griselda and admiring their production for the last month, this couldn’t be better timing
I needed this! Thanks
Dam that’s crazyyy🔥🔥🔥🔥
lol! right on the money. sound like a cassette from 94. good shit dude.
Pete Rock vibes fasho 🔥
bro this beat is absolutely INSANE and feels like something off a Nas album. unbelievable.
Yesssss 🔥 hi professor! 🤓
Best tutorial ive ever seen
Very kind, thank you Joel!
Excelente Navie ♥
Thank you Mr Draper
This video is gold
Thank you!
dope!
Have you ever done a DJ Muggs inspired video he was one of the best of the real boombap era. Cypress hill had the best beats for that dark Mobb Deep sounding vibe with the cool imagery to match
💯
Facts ! Muggs was insane ! Super dope.
Bless up Muggs. Without him, I don't think we would have the Alchemist. And without the Alchemist, there would be no me.
An Video like that would be great! This Beat is 🔥
Love these videos and better beatmaker course
Intro beat was 🔥

We're gooooiiiinnnnnnnn
Boom-Nap? :-))
Cool results!!!
w beat. Pharrell was awesome on working together, now I can see that picture wasn't fake
It's true, I taught him all that he knows basically
Great vid...back in the day when layering samples how did producers get the right key with each sample with equipment like the SP1200
izotope vynil is also a very nice free plugin for oldschool boombap...and adding sum drum fills
Honestly, boombap is the most fun to produce of any genre
Good sir im u r fane
You're a dope producer, Navie. Your love and study of music shows, and your shit is consistently dope. But, I'd like to hear a little more swing in the drums for old school boombap. It also helps to get a sample of vinyl static and add it to the mix. Just enough to dirty the clean samples up and give it that old sampled-vinyl sound. (Especially for those using VST's or stuff like Landr samples.)
8:35 my man's making Bob ross boom bap. Slap da devil outta dem percussion samples g.
goooodd
Thankyou.
Man, damn nice tutorial, always on pont navie! i was wondering if your krk monitors sound good to you, so you have them right on top of the table, with no tallers stands. since i use the same model, i was always wondering what you might think of it man
nice one... def my lane
yo D Bagzzz. Can you do a tutorial on adding vocal scratches/chops to tracks? it would help out your beliebers so much thanksss xxx
What's up Navie D
I have a question.
When layering a Kick with another kick, In addition to adding an EQ on your secondary kick would you recommend decreasing some of the secondary kick's attack a smidge to make way for the snap of the main kick's attack?
Biggest thing with layering instruments that are the same is phase, especially with low end frequencies like 808s and kicks. If you layer a kick and it doesn’t hit hard, try flipping the polarity of one of the kicks, in addition to carving it out with EQ.
Nice
You can eat enchiladas to this beat, dope!
Great vedio!,.How do you create that scratching effect using shaperbox?
ethereal beats tutorial is needed
Oooooh I think I could make a cool thumbnail for that too. Where I am a ghost or something
Great tutorial. Some more info on picking the BPM of the beat and adjusting BPMs of samples would be cool.
