  • I needed to create a lid for a 60cm tank so thought I’d try a bit of creativity. My DIY skills and tools available are limited so these should be something anyone can have a go at if they fancy.
Let me know how it worked for you or if you do something differently - I’d love to see your own versions of my lid if you fancy showing off your handiwork!

I really like your, “chuck stuff on the floor” style of presentation, it helps to make the project feel do-able

Glad it was helpful. That’s my intention of my videos so in theory they should be accessible for anyone and not cost the earth 💪🏻

Beth Little I’m glad it was helpful - as I say, my DIY skills are not the best but it was a concept I thought of that should be relatively easy. I’ve been using the condensation tray for the last few months and it looks so much better now

Do you think you could cut a space for a hang on the back filter in the condensation tray one?

Hi David, definitely doable. I’ve done something similar on my main display tank as a temporary lid and had to cut around the filter inlets and outlets from my external. Cutting in reduces the strength of it but as long as it’s supported elsewhere you should be AOK. Could even cut in a feeding hole
I’m going to be attempting another lid soon using polycarbonate glazing sheet and then siliconing the edge to seal it in.
