Australia has become the latest country to build and deploy the K9 Thunder and K10 reloader. A superb Howitzer system that is winning increasing respect around the world. It doesn't replaced towed artillery, but expands artillery capability and speed enormously, and frees towed artillery to work with helicopters to go into places even tracked vehicles can't go.
Towed artillery is hard to survive in full-scale war. Even truck-mounted self propelled guns are hard to survive since no protection is provided to the crews. The artillery battle against north korea gave strong confidence to South Korean Army about K9 and they produced and deployed the more K9.
@@yhk9474 Totally understand the limitations of towed artillery but it can have some advantages. For example a Chinook can carry towed artillery into places than no wheeled vehicle can reach. Also Chinooks can get towed artillery long distances faster than self propelled artillery can get there. In a tiny little country like Korea that might not be important, but in battle zones with large distances this can be a significant asset. The shoot and scoot of self propelled artillery is mostly much more valuable on the modern battlefield, but it doesn't completely eliminate the value of towed artillery.
@@artistjoh If the opponent is poorly equipped & poorly trained militants, the towed artillery is still enough. Also if we need to deploy our troops somewhere in Africa, of course we can't airlift K9 using cargo aircrafts. (I do. agree your points.)
@@artistjoh South Korea is considering North Korea & China as the potential enemy and they are using anti artillery radar. So towed artillery is less valued, though they are still using a lot of towed artillery pieces. (South Korean artillery trained not to stay more than 2 minutes at the same position.)
@@artistjoh There was some rumor that South Korea will develop truck mounted 155mm howitzer using existing towed howitzer. However, many people judged that it is unlikely to be happened. If South Korea develop a type of truck-mounted gun, it will be even better than caesar with affordable price tag... I am sure..
Egypt 🇪🇬 just signed today a $1.7b deal w/ SK 🇰🇷 to locally produce K9 and K10. Best arm deal w/ technology transfer in decades.
Yes! Every news source writing about that! It’s very nice 👊😎
I wouldn't call it the best arms deal transfer in decades.
That's right !!
Republic of Poland is building under the South -Korean license the chassis and driving systems. Poles have adopted abandoned by Brits their turret model, and consolidated both together with Polish electronics, optics and software, to built AHS (Canon/Howitzer/ Self-propelled System called "KRAB", which is just another adoption of fantastic South-Korean advanced technology. Thank you so much.
Producent in Poland: >> Huta "Stalowa Wola"
The Australian government has just signed the contract with the south Korean government to supply these for the Australian Army 😬
That’s why views increasing on this video 😅

Egypt has k9 from South Korea but still not yet tried
In fact k9 is most sold self propelled gun in the world.
South Korea recently made the newest model K9A2, its maximum gunnery range is 100km.(62,137119 mile)
Sounds good! 👊😎
Also, this bad boy has actual combat experience as well. During the Yeonpeoungdo bombing by the North Korean military, the South Korean army retaliated with the K9 howitzers
Interesting fact! :)
It is cost effective with high quality and technology. Wow.
Yes, really high quality 😉

Norway also bought these
if I'm not mistaken two years ago Norway bought them or not?
Is it me or you forgot to mention that Finland and Norway also bought the K9?
Yes, yes! It’s a new fact 😅
And Estonia too
@@WarSecrets You have video footage from Finland and you still forgot to mention Finland.
South Korean K-9 is the best howitzer along with German PZH 2000
Yeah, Panzerhaubitze 2000 is also good howitzer
PZH2000 is better but k9 just cost 1/3 of it
Question is, can one PZH-2000 beat 3 K9?
@@BrianHSC Maybe impossible. Thats why K9 became bestseller around the globe

War in Ukraine proved that SP artillery is still one of most important weapon. Stalin said artillery is king of the battle during WW2 and it hasn't changed with air power.

Dapat bumili ang Philippine army, marines, PNP saf commando tag 100 piraso bumili sila ng k9 thunder artillery tanks. Kung meron k9 thunder artillery tanks ang SAF 44 hindi sana sila naubos
360 kilometres, jeez that’s abit short. Great vehicle, but short range.
Its designed to defenders not attackers so range isnt most important thing.
Agree with this comment :)
👍
Thanks for comment 👍
One wonders what this guys first language is ??
It's probably computer speak. Would not be surprised if its a digital voice.

Holy crap if Finnish artillery had these at 1944 Tali-Ihantala battles. Shit would gone even more south for the russkies.
The system computer of the k10 has windows 7 basic games installed on it
And will have main game installed named: World of tanks? 😅
why russian panel???
Most of the media in Korea, the country where I live, don't like Korea to do well. So, whenever the news comes out, they report that Korea is going bankrupt. I want foreigners to know.
Thanks for interesting information! 🙏

PzH2000 from Germany is the best howitzer in the world.
Too expensive. Not practical. You can get 3 K9 got 1 Pz. 3 K9 is better than 1 Pz. 😂

What country is this guy from? He keeps mispronouncing everything in the English language.
The channel Is based in Lithuania so he is probobly Lithuanian
His accent sounds fine to me, perfectly understandable. I assume you can speak multiple languages too?
@@CheapCheerful Yes I do, although my Russian is a bit rusty as I have not had much opportunity to use it in the past 20 years since I got out of the Army. Not saying that I cannot understand him just he makes many very basic pronunciation mistakes yet has no definitive accent, linguistically that is an oddity because normally the only way to shed a forging accent is to closely mimic native speakers but if he spent any time with native English speakers he would have learned the pronunciation you would think. Not that his English is bad just saying that is odd.
Yes! I’m from Lithuania 😊
Thank you for a nice comment! 😇
"Most Advanced Self-propelled Howitzer" It's just an updated M109, it's far away from being "Advanced". *Laughs in PzH 200*
But cheapest in top-notch market, innit?
You mean pzh 2000??
@@WarSecrets nah, the K-9
It is very cost-effective and the performance in different settings is very good.
No. You are totally wrong. K55 is an updated(or a variant) of M109. K9 has totally different design and specs from M109. Suspension, loadding system, barell, powerpack etc., all are different.
Also K9 design is not based on M109.

The one and only has been beaten by North Korean artillery.
See Bombardment of Yeonpyeong
“North Korean artillery” 🤣
you have to conduct your own research before using the word "beaten". North Korean Artillery could not destroy any K9 out of 6 which was positioned in Yeonpyeong.
Some of North Korean BM-21 did not leave smoke on their position as they had no time to shoot before being destroyed.
beaten? what kind of bull-sxxt is that?
Bull shit! Do you know how many of them died in return by K9?
