I use Ceriglass and have some info/advice. 1st up, removing scratches from glass is tedious work. Too much heat could damage the glass. I did a small windshield using a buffer. Took 4hrs and not all scratches were removed. Heres how I do it. I use my G8 buffer with a 3in backing plate. I use Griots rayon pads. G8 is a DA. Make sure to keep the machine moving with a speed of around 2-3. Do NOT sit in 1 place digging at scratches!!!! When compound starts to dry, I give the pad a small squirt of water and the glass a small squirt and continue buffing. I've learned that scratches are VERY difficult to remove and most of the time none or very little will actually be removed. Check the OCD at the door. Never guarantee to remove ALL scratches. As far as doing it by hand, forgetaboutit. At best you'll just clean the glass. You'll never remove any scratches like that. Took me 4hrs with a machine. It'll take you 4months by hand and you still won't remove scratches. Just my 2 cents. Good luck
@@bigstick346 great advice. I appreciate you taking the time to mention that. I did end up getting a rotary buffer but the juice ain’t worth the squeeze at this point. My time is worth just getting the rear glass replaced. But I do need to pick up a DA for other polish work. You like the Griots?
I like both, G8 & G9. The 3in(G8) I found to be good for the glass. From the looks of your window, it looks gone. It's a little hard to see clearly, but from what I see, you're not getting those out. Change the glass and ceramic the window. Keep making videos. You probably answered someone newer than you, their curiosity/concern.
I think that you are ment to use a polishing machine for that stuf so you can budd out the scraches. No way a couple passes by hand could do something.
By hand I’d really not expect it to polish so hard material like glass:( It’s more like an abrasive clean (water spots, stains, etc.)
