I have the six CD set that has I was Made for loving you and Sure know something and Dirty Livin'. There is a lot of funny interplay between songs, including Peter telling people what 21 jump street means.
As a life long KISS fan 1973 on, and a musician myself...I was very disapointed in the Dynasty record. It was the beginning of the end for the hard rocking KISS.
I can totally understand that. That would have been super tough. That's one reason I think this era has fascinated me so much. Just imagining exactly what you spoke about, that changing of the guard of one legion of fans to the next. Have a great week.

I did love some of the music of the band after this that was back kinda to their roots. But I grew up in the early years of the band and of other rock bands. As a drummer I hated everything for the most part disco. I was and still am a R&B fan.

Thank God for photography and video in our lives, otherwise memories start to fade. They are only way to time travel besides music in most scenarios. The beauty of watching that video of the beloved LM is beyond special. For you watching that she is always fresh in your mind and in a way always with you forever. Great video! Dynasty is one of my favorites in the catalog, as well. I’ve heard a lot of Kiss demos but didn’t realize these Dynasty demos were “out there.” I’m going to have to track them down. Yes. I lost my companion, Diego, a couple of years ago. He was my buddy and was at my feet while I worked so often. It’s very difficult to lose them. My folks didn’t let me listen to Kiss, as a kid. So, I listened “covertly” for years at a friend’s house (and poured over magazines, read the comic, drew the band, and talked endlessly about what the members might really be like). However, when Dynasty was released, I was deemed old enough to buy a Kiss record. It was the first Kiss record I actually owned and I played it to death and put the poster on my wall. I still have that copy of the album (poster, too) and it’s precious to me. Great album and a great example of the “embarrassment of riches” Kiss fans have in such a diverse catalog… even if all fans don’t necessarily embrace the diversity. 😂 Have a great weekend, as well!

The disco version of Love is Blind/ Love came to me is BOMB. Could have been the follow up to IWMFLY. Originally i thought the song was intended for Gene's solo album because i had this on a '78 solo album demo collection i bought from Peter Arquette back when i was a "little one"....back in the "day"

All demos, isolated, rehearsals, diff mixes and any other rare hard goodies - every album - the next 4 largest I have done: Psycho Circus 9hrs 45 mins, Unmasked 8hrs 02 mins, Gene 78’ Solo 7hr 42mins, Elder 7hrs 28mins. I just put everything into where it needs to be :-)
Trust me I was one of the last people to still be rocking a tape player Walkman in mind early 00's and have always had cds you don't have to worry if your Cd has a scratch you can remove it with a buffer if an lp is scratch it is not playable and you can just put it in the garbage Cds are better 100# better and you don't have to pay $300 for a Cd Lps the prices are f$%king nuts and definitely not for me I like money more than I will ever like lps at those prices

Gene and Paul are old school musical entrepreneurs, they prefer to stay away from officially recognizing discarded outtakes and bootleg demo's as a part of the KISS catalogue. Vini Poncia whom produced Dynasty was all about the recorded sound that could be played in a Disco or on AM radio. Songs which could be seamlessly stitched together with others as part of a dance mix. He was not well versed in the live heavy-rock sound KISS was known for at the time. A Disco Dynasty concept is something I never thought about, maybe something for a future box set. I'm a massive fan of vinyl records, I can see your understanding of the sound quality for CDs. At the time CDs were emerging the pitch was vinyl sounded better with proper equipment and maintenance of the vinyl product. Thanks so much for the beautiful Large Marge tribute. That is the beauty of being human.

Always wondered why they never put the straitjacket poster up for sale, after parting with Casablanca, that initially downvoted the idea for the inner sleeve of the 'Dynasty' album. I have been looking for a good-sized 'clean' poster of that image for decades, and 8x10's in a poor quality were the best I could find.
That would have been a super cool poster! Shoot, I even remember how amazingly fun it was to see those first images of Motley in straight jackets for Dr Feelgood, imagine how huge that would have been for kids in 79? Great idea. Have a good week.

I saw them when they released this album, it was a total let down sadly. From the puff n stuff costumes to the venue being half empty on to most of the crowd being kids. For me, their last good album was Love Gun. Beyond that it was just ‘whatever’ until 96’ when they all reunited.
Not sure, there aren't any details within the CD. I would assume he is on "Dirty Livin'", but I had read at some point, even in the demo phase, Peter only played on "DL", everything else was Anton. But again, who knows? Would be cool to know. I have always thought with KISS (especially), it would be awesome to see actual video of the recording process. That would be a super cool insight. Vinyl kicks CD's in the ass for sound. Vinyl is warmer and has more punch. The only thing CD's fair better is no static between songs. if you think CD's sound better you need to upgrade your turntable and sound system. I have a $10k Yamaha sound system and play both CD's and Vinyl. Trust me, vinyl sounds much better!!!
It probably is my turn table. I have a 2238b Marantz receiver….and a Sony turn table. Once I get the basement going again, I will dive back in. Have a good weekend.
The albums you mentioned were definitely a sign of the times with the style & sound. But I must disagree with you.All 3 are great classics. Especially The Elder & Dynasty. Ace ruled supreme with some of the best tunes on all 3.

KISS was truly lost in that period. With a few exceptions that music is crap. Dynasty, Unmasked and the Elder. All trash
