- On this outdoor adventure, I am showing off another one of Coeur d'Alene Idaho's most popular trails! The Mineral Ridge Loop Trail is labeled as moderate at 3.3 miles round-trip and 767 feet of elevation gain. This beautiful hike takes you through the forest and gives you amazing views of Lake Coeur d'Alene from above! The overlook at the end is the best!!

One thing for sure you were not getting cold, really tucked up there mind but if it was below zero (Celsius), I can see why. Sure was quiet and with the sun out and plenty of switchbacks it must have helped keep you warm. Cool little cave and great views of the lake form the viewpoint, plenty of snow about too. Cheers Alan

Glad you don't mind those cool hikes - I prefer hiking in temps a bit warmer than that! It would take a lot of work even opening a cave that size with those hard stones I would imagine. Quite a big lake.

that was cool coming across the cave, beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area (I was surprised to see snow on parts of the trail but then again it was March with cold temp's) take care till the next time Eric
Yeah, there was just snow, on the ground, on that one section of the trail. I'm just glad the sun was out, or it would have been much colder! The views were amazing, though! Thanks, Craig!
