THE CALICO TANKS TRAIL RED ROCK CANYON NEVADA
On this outdoor hiking adventure, I am doing a local Las Vegas area hiking trail! Located about a 30-minute drive from Las Vegas is the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The Calico Tanks Trail is labeled as moderate at 2.4 round-trip and 439 feet of elevation gain! I love this hike because it takes you up a beautiful, colorful canyon and ends with an amazing overlook! This is one of my favorites around town and I am sure you will love doing it too!

Nice local hike and plenty of parking too, great to get back to a favourite as well. I wish we had weather like that in December, in fact at any month is the year :o). Bit of a rocky old climb up in parts but great views and I can see why it got you into hiking back in the day. Funny, I bet Vagas is packed, yet just a few miles away, you have all that beauty all to yourself, cheers Alan

Yeah, it's a big parking lot, but come on a weekend in the middle of the day and it'll be full with no place to park. This is definitely an oldie, but goody for me, and it never gets boring doing it. Yeah, winter is the best time to hike here, honestly. Thank you so much Alan! I really appreciate it 🙏.

Glad you didn't come face to face with that spider! I would have been OUTTA THERE! lol. That status has a similar body to me. My goal for 2025 is to transform it so it's a slightly better version of that statue, lol.

Seeing the spider would have been cool, but being a narrow trail, it would have been a pain to get around it! Best of luck with your fitness goals in 2025! Happy New Year, Josh!!

there were some cool views on the way up the trail at the start of the video and from the overlook, good advice for anyone watching who might want to do this hike, hope you had a good new year day and looking forward to more of your videos in 2025

Thank you so much, Craig! I hope that you had a great New Year's Day as well. I wanted to give people the best advice to save time and make the most of their trip here. Great views definitely to the top of the canyon and the overlook! Much appreciated, my friend!

A colourful hike as well as a very scenic one too, although, not the whole trail and whoever put that bench there give them a medal - what a view. Great view from the overlook and real pleased to see someone has done a statue for me up there as well, real nice of them! Cheers Alan

Yeah, the bench was perfectly placed for a rest and view spot! This was a great hike to get away from people and enjoy the scenery for the most part! Thanks, Alan!
