VALENCIA PEAK AND BLUFF TRAIL LOOP MONTANA DE ORO CALIFORNIA
On this outdoor hiking adventure, I am visiting one of my favorite places to hike on the Central California coast. Montana de Oro State Park is a short drive from Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo. This day, I combined 2 really awesome trails into one giant loop hike. The Valencia Peak and Bluff Trail Loop is labeled as moderate at 7.1 miles round-trip and 1,555 feet of elevation gain. The hike starts by summiting to the top of Valencia Peak, where you get some really killer views of Montana de Oro, the ocean, Morro Bay, and Morro Rock! The 2nd half of the hike is the Bluff Trail, which goes right along the coast with waves crashing and dramatic ocean views! This is a wonderful way to combine the park's 2 most popular trails into one amazing hike!

We got mid July here and apart from the odd day we are still waiting for some great weather here. Sounds like you are getting the hard work at if the way first, which is what I prefer and always get when you get that real energised feeling when you are out hiking. Loved all the colour on the trail and great views of the coastline. I don't have much choice to hike in cool weather here at the moment but I do agree it is netter t hike in the cool. It got real misty towards the top, which is a shame as that would have been a great lunch spot on that picnic table. Sods law that it all cleared when you got back to lower ground again but great to see the coastline close up on the Bluffs Trail. Cheers Alan

Yeah , I wasn't expecting the fog to happen as I was going up as everything looked clear when I started the hike. I know you're used to that happening all the time! It was still an amazing hike going up, and I got some great views before the fog! Thankfully, the coastline along the Bluff Trail was totally clear and beautiful! Thank you so much, Alan!! I really appreciate it, my brother!
