I am an avid hiker and traveler. My UA-cam channel shows off some of the best hiking trails at many beautiful national and state parks across the country! I want to help you pick out what your next hiking trip is going to be. Let me take you along with me on my many outdoor hiking adventures!!
THE WIDFORSS TRAIL NORTH RIM GRAND CANYON
In this video, I do one of the best hikes at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The Widforss Trail is labeled as moderate at 9.3 miles round-trip and 1,082 feet of elevation gain! This hike goes along the canyon rim and through magnificent forest as well! Since I did this in September, I got great fall colors along the way! This hike has many great viewpoints of the Grand Canyon! The hike ends at an absolutely stunning overlook called Widforss Point! This is a great longer hike to do when visiting the North Rim of the Grand Canyon!

Looks so pretty there. Wow, what a great waterfall! You are right, very impressive. The second one was even more spectacular. Double prizes with 2 waterfalls. Great hike.
Thank you so much for checking out this video! Yes, this was definitely a great hike with 2 awesome waterfalls! I am really glad that you enjoyed seeing it! Much appreciated, my friend!
Amazing views and colours and always cool to do a brand new hike, especially in September was a good temperature as well. The views over the canyon were stunning and always nice to get a bit of flat walking in a hike as well. Amazing hike and some amazing footage as well, real crisp and colourful, cheers Alan
It was overall great hike and weather and hike! The canyon views on this trail are definitely amazing! Yes, having flat sections is always a big huge plus! Thank you so much, Alan! Always appreciated my friend!
Spectacular colors and views 👍👍
Thank you so much, my friend! I really did this trail at the perfect time, honestly! It was a beautiful and amazing hike!
wow that section of your hike with the golden yellow colors of the leaves so beautiful and the views of the Canon along the way amazing
Yeah, this was just an amazing overall hike! It exceeded my expectations, and it wasn't crazy hard. I don't think there is a better time of year to come here, honestly. Thanks, Craig! Much for brother 🙏
I thought you were riding done the Uncle Jim trail when I saw those horses or were they donkeys? I am still on the Hero10 and I was temped by the 13 but thought I would hold out for another year, hoping for a bigger sensor on the next one. Loved those Autumn (Fall) colours in the trees and the whole canyon looked amazing. The GoPro seemed to do a good job for me, cheers Alan
Yes, those were actually horses used for horseback riding tours. Your videos still look really good with the 10! It won't hurt to wait for the 14! For me, the 13 performs really well, and I have been very happy with it! Thank you so much, Alan!
Hi Eric, I haven't seen any sun here for over three weeks, temperatures are around 8 degrees Celsius. Your beautiful video recordings make me want to travel and enjoy the nature you showed. The blue of the sky....
I'm sorry to hear that the weather has been so miserable there! I hope that changes soon. Also, I want you to come back out here and enjoy this for yourself. Thanks for your continued support of the channel, my friend! Much appreciated!
Beautiful fall colors Eric! And special thanks for providing the North Rim playlist. You're one stop shopping for North Rim planning. Thanks :)
Awesome! I am glad you found this video informative and enjoyable. Yes, I definitely want to help you plan your trip out here! Thank you so much for watching!
How long did this hike take?
I've done this hike 2x, and I take around 4 hours. You're gonna stop a lot for pictures because the scenery is just amazing on this one. Unlike anything you've ever seen before. Thanks for watching
@@adventuringoutdoorswithericThank you so much for your response. I’m doing this hike in the coming weeks and your video got me excited about it!
@MicheleHans Have fun! This is the other video I did there! ua-cam.com/video/sqkrr-aymD8/v-deo.html
Thank you for sharing! Yes please backroads & backtrails thanks for links quite^tude .. yoga hike fun in the sun that's my vibe ... found you on threads ,, 🧵followed you here .. have been wanting to add fresh trails 👣 for winter desert hikes ... Mt Charleston Showgirl & Lovell now on the list .
Oh great, I am so glad that you found my channel! I am very happy to show you the lesser known trails so you can have some tranquillity. That is very important to me as well. Thank you so much for watching, commenting, and subscribing!
@adventuringoutdoorswitheric most appreciated
Hello, "Eric"! Thank you for showing us such a great video! I found it very interesting! I'm looking forward to your next work!
Thank you so much, my friend! It's awesome to hear from you! Much appreciated!
Wow, quite cool for an August morning. I expected it to be warmer than that during August. The lake views here are quite epic, aren't they?! Landscape shifts a lot during this hike. Really helps keep things exciting. Duck lake is spectacular!
The good thing is the summers are mild here! The lake views are super amazing! It's really great that you pass so many of them! The hike is a great challenge as well, especially if you go as far as I did! Thanks, Josh!
How far was your walk to diamond creek after salt creek? Also instead of doing the loop around can you go back the same way you came?
It's slightly under two miles to get to the falls. You could do it as an out and back, but it would be pretty much the same distance doing it as a loop. Thanks for watching.
Looks awesome. I’ve never been to the north rim. I’d love to do this hike one day.
Yeah, the North Rim is really amazing, and I hope you get to see it for yourself! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks for sharing this view. We were in Las Vegas and also at the Hoover Dam, but we didn't have enough time for the Grand Canyon The nature, the green of the trees and this great blue sky, plus the canyon, great
I am sure you will be back someday and see the Grand Canyon with your own eyes! It is truly a sight to see! Thanks for checking out another video of mine, and I am really glad that you enjoyed it!
That looked a real bust car park but when you are getting views like that there, I can see why and that water at the lake was crystal clear! Yep, I would be a bit worried if I saw a bear on the trail, especially if she had cubs too but I guess with all those people from the car park about, not much chance of bumping into a bear there. The trail to the lake sure got quiet mind, I wonder where everyone else was, who would want to miss out on those views, cheers Alan
The main reason the parking lot was so busy is because people go to the lake to fish, and there are tons of trails, not just this one. But I was happy the crowds didn't hike on this one! I remember I had bear spray the time I saw the bear family. I am really glad I did not have to use it! Thank you so much, Alan, my friend!
Great memories for me here on your video! It was a beautiful day on those trails for us too 😊Thank you, Eric and take care always.
I am glad you have got to experience the North Rim also! It's definitely a gem 💎! Thanks, James! I always appreciate it!
Absolutely stunning views. Pretty sure you have the new camera settings spot on. 👍👍
Yes, the footage turned out fine, luckily! Thanks for checking out another video of mine and commenting!
AWESOME views! Thanks for this hike! I want to go!
Thanks for watching, my friend! I hope you get to check it out one day!
Great video again....We were in South Rim in May and we wanted to go to North Rim but couldn't get there because of snow....but it's still on our bucket list
Thank you so much! I think it's something like a 4.5 hour drive from the South to the North Rim, which sounds crazy! But I would definitely recommend doing this in September. As you could see the weather was nice and it wasn't crowded at all. Thanks for checking out another video of mine, my friend!
I think you picked a good time of the year for the hike being not as hot and few people, I can just imagine in the summer months all the tourists there, amazing views of the Canyon from the different overlooks, overall nice hike Eric (that must be something to hike to the bottom and then back up the Canyon)
Yeah, I definitely picked a great time a year to do this hike for sure! The hike to the bottom of the Canyon they don't recommend doing it in a day. It's safer and better to camp out! Thanks, Craig!
@@adventuringoutdoorswitheric that must be some hike to do then with camping out on the way
Beautiful nature
Thank you! The Grand Canyon is truly an amazing place.
This is certainly another beautiful area! Thanks so much for continuing to share these places with us. Take care always 😊
Thank you so much, James! Much appreciated, my friend! If you ever get the chance, definitely come out to Mammoth Lakes!
Lived in Richmond for 45 years and I am moving back. I miss everything
Yeah, I really enjoyed both my trips out there! The city has its own identity and charm, unlike any place else! I'm glad to hear that you're moving back to the place you love. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
very impresive!
Thank you so much, my friend! I am glad you enjoyed it!
Another California adventure! Wow! Famous! It’s great that people know who you are! We’ll deserved! Stunning views as always! You sure know how to pick good hikes sir Eric!
Yes, it's always awesome when someone recognizes me on the trail! It's definitely a beautiful little hike! I hope things are going pretty well with the new baby 👶. Thanks, Josh!
very excited to hike this i just moved here and i love all these hiking spots with beautiful views!

I was looking at Cathedral Gorge State Park and I saw your video. Thank you for sharing. We will be visitng Las Vegas on Nov 14. We have a day to visit the 2 places. Do you think I need to add one more place to visit then head back to Las Vegas in the evening? Thanks for the great video!
Since you're driving out for the day , I think 2 places will be plenty, especially with it getting dark much earlier. Plus, you got a factory in the 3 hour , drive each way. You're gonna spend the majority of the time at Cathedral Gorge since it's a much bigger state park. Kershaw Ryan is pretty small, and you will only need an hour and a half there max. I hope you found this helpful. Thanks for watching.
@@adventuringoutdoorswitheric Thanks a lot! I forgot about the time of day. It starts getting dark now at 6pm. Thank you so much! :)
lmao man you are everywhere. Thinking of going here.
Lol! I live in Las Vegas , but I have taken a lot of hiking trips to Oregon! I absolutely love it there and wish I lived there. Thanks for checking out another video of mine, my friend!
Again such beautiful Nature and so quiet. I wonder If I'll geht there someday, too
I hope you make it out to Mammoth Lakes! It's one of my favorite places to hike! Thank you so much, my friend!
@@adventuringoutdoorswitheric It won't be clear until next year whether another trip to the USA is possible and also the destination. It depends on my son, who would like to go to the northeast at the moment... We have been to the Middle East, Oregon, Washington, California and Utah. I really like the nature in the West. I look forward to more videos from you
@alteshaus5627 Yeah, I hope you guys come back out here soon to hike! Thank you so much, and I will be putting a lot more video! Have a wonderful day, my friend!
it might of been a short hike but you found some beautiful lakes there, the water along the shore was so crystal clear then turning the green /blue farther out, thanks for sharing
It was definitely a wonderful hike to end my trip with! Both lakes were beautiful. This is a great area! Be back next year! Thanks, Craig!
thumbs up!
Thank you so much! I am really glad that you enjoyed it!
@@adventuringoutdoorswitheric I was just editing my own mt Scott video. Thought I would look at others for some ideas. Great work.
Thanks again, brother 🙏
❤
Thank you!
Great hike! The fall color along with the green mossy trees was off the charts beautiful. Reminds me alot of the falls trail at Ricketts Glen State Park. Added this to my AllTrails bucket list.
Yes , you definitely want to come here and do this hike one day! I know I wanted to for a long time! I was definitely not disappointed! Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Looked very colourful for mid August and sounded very nice with only a few or no other hikers on the trail. Nice clear road to follow up and always reassuring when you see other footprints on the trail, especially a steep one. Fabulous view on the bottom mind, those rocks looked amazing but what goes down, on this hike, has to come back up again! Cheers Alan
It was definitely worth the hike out, as you can see! Amazing what nature can do! Mid August is always amazing in the Eastern Sierras! Thanks, Alan. I really appreciate it, brother 🙏.
Awesome vid, I live in Vegas & just found out about this spot to fish at! Definitely looking forward to making a road trip one day with the pups! 🐶❤
Thank you so much! This is a really cool state park! I didn't know the fishing was good there. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you for sharing. I'll be headed that way this Sunday.
You are very welcome! Have a wonderful hike, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Amazing, I cannot wait until Spring ’25 to continue exploring out on the West Coast! Sequoia and Kings Canyon are on my bucket list!
Very cool! I hope you have a wonderful trip and thanks for watching my friend!
What is that paved part that you’re walking on? I’m visiting Vegas in February and I’m looking to find a.nice area to run when I come down from Upstate NY. I was considering this trail for a nice jog. Also, what time of the year had the snow that one year? Can’t remember if you mentioned that.
February is a good time to hike here, actually. I don't exactly remember what month it was when it snowed, but I'm sure it was in the winter. It might snow here heavenly maybe 2 times in the winter, and that's it. The paved part at the end was part of Rocky Gap Road. If you're looking for hikes around Las Vegas, here is my youTube playlist to help give an idea. Let me know if you have any other questions. wow!! though columns are amazing to see and then be able to walk among them, to think the water carved them out over time, I'm glad you were able to get to them this time
