@@tkbeatz6293 I’m not really sure how to share my journey because there’s so much to say. AIT was hard for me. It’s a very high speed, fast paced course. At AIT they gave us roughly 6 hours of sleep. We never got free time so our study time was always after we got sent to bed. So instead of getting 6 hours I’d get roughly 3. That was mainly for EMT phase. Whiskey I didn’t really study for but you wear full kit everyday for 13 hours so I was always sore but whiskey was pretty fun. We practice everything we learn on each other like IVs and NPAs and tourniquets and CCAs. We would practice needle chest decompressions on dummies as well as surgical crics. Whiskey is exhausting but once you get through EMT you’re almost guaranteed to graduate. They taught us out on the battlefield that everyone relies on medics. If we have no idea what we are doing we still have to act like we do. We keep everyone calm so if the medic says everything is okay then everyone stays calm. We don’t have anyone to rely on, we are the ones that save other people so you can imagine the pressure put onto your shoulders. Everyone loves medics and we all have our own journeys.
