Hey, thinking about joining the Army and this mos stood out to me. I'm wondering what are your work hours like? Short and constantly doing things or long but not lots of things to do? How is the culture of the mos compared to the rest of the Army?
Hey!! So glad you reached out!! So I feel like where I am the work hours are long but I do feel like we’re constantly doing something from re-imaging laptops to managing accounts someone always needs something! I think it depends on where you are
Hi, I'm interested in this MOS and either 17c but idk If I'll be able to test high enough for that particular mos. I have my Comptia Security+ and should have my A+ and Network+ as well and I have two internships in corporate America one as a project coordinator and another one in information security. I'm still in college a senior at that and people tell me I should just buckle down and just finish school and look to find a job in corporate America since I have enough experience and certs. Do you recommend the Army and would you say this mos and your army experience is preparing you for the civilian world? If I do enlist in the army I only plan to do one contract to get the benefits out of it then go back to the civilian world. Think I'm feeling like this because I'm failing all my classes and just been in a slump lately. I appreciate you sharing this video.
Hey! Thanks so much for watching and commenting on this video. I recommend becoming an officer, or with your certifications becoming a government contractor you’re definitely qualified with your certifications and could work your up and enjoy some benefits of the military without actually being in the military, and as far as does my mos prepare me for the civilian world in this particular job field I’m unsure, I had other jobs and a degree before I joined and I did earn my security plus cert as well as cloud plus certification but I’m not currently using them in the tasks that I do day to day where I am. I hope this helped. I don’t regret joining the Army it has been a great life experience for me. But you’re definitely a officer or a contractor…they make more money than enlisted and you’ll probably use your certifications more.
Hey I’ve never been deployed, about to hit 6 years in August but it depends on the unit you’re in, there were two opportunities to deploy in my unit (both were around 5 months) which I didn’t really have an interest in going on but I did have the opportunity to go. It varies tho, letting leadership know you’re interested in a deployment will usually lead to getting on a rotation, from what I’ve seen. I hope this helps!
Thinking about picking this mos but I’m worried about failing ait I have no prior experience with computer or anything in the IT field any advice is AIT hard ?
So I had no prior experience with computers or anything in the IT field either and I feel like AIT depends on the person as far as difficulty is concerned…you definitely have to stay focused and study. I’m sure you’ll do fine!! Good luck to you!
I am a 25B, currently inprocessing at my first duty station. What is expected of you at your unit. Do you get to have any orientation prior to you start working on your own?
Um not sure about an orientation I guess that depends on the unit. My supervisor told me everything that was expected of me and my coworkers kept a close eye on me while they trained me and answered any questions I had then once they felt like I could do the tasks on my own they left me to do it.
How has it been since going to your first unit as a 25B and what are your daily tasks ? Do you have any ncos that’s reclasses? I’m AIT do ncos have to stay in barracks or in hotels or prior service barracks ?
@@militaryman3677 It’s been good for me since my first unit and my daily tasks are usually to put in tickets for various projects or troubleshooting as far as prior service NCOs during AIT I’m not sure where they stayed as we were kept separate from them. I’ve had NCOs who have reclassed come work in our shop and they integrated well.
Congrats! I do get weekends off…but this depends on the unit active duty usually gets left alone since we work the whole week. I’m excited for your journey! Take care!
Hey so I’m not sure what the current contract time is for 25B’s starting out but my contract was pretty much 6 years…5 years 34 weeks exactly…sorry I don’t have a better answer for you but when you talk to your recruiter tell them you only wish to do 4 years they may tell you of another mos that’s similar to 25B
@@Tdoubleu23 I ask because I originally passed the asvab the first time I scored a 41 and didn’t like my jobs and was going to not sign with the army then they pulled some strings got me to retest and I scored a 60 and qualified for a 25b but don’t want to go for 6 years

Computer Network Support Specialist, Network and Computer System Administrator

Can you do this MOS as a green card holder ?
Sure I could mention it in another video, the day by day would depend on the unit you get placed in tho
