Dead Apostle Noel unleashes her spears (bells) to counter Ciel's Black Keys as they rain down. As they enter a standoff, Dead Apostle Noel activates "Skewered Pork" and then her "Dazzling Echo" set technique to stop Ciel in her tracks!

She restrains opponents with projectiles and traps, in a battle style evocative of a dancing butterfly.

A well-balanced fighter with many different skills for different situations and opponents, able to move freely across the stage with a huge variety of attacks.

I love everything about her, but...every time I look at her, I think of this one youtube comment of some guy talking about how "we need more lolis in lingerie" and I just...are traps, cool magic staff-needle-sword-things, and big-ish buttons really worth the raw creep energy that she makes you put out?
And the explanation is just worse. "No, ACKTCHUALLY she's a fully grown adult! She CHOSE to magically regress to the age where she last felt happy due to a traumatized backstory and..." someone's gonna call the goddamn FBI.

Oooh, this song is too good. Raito, thank you so much. Thank you for giving Melty Blood the wonderful soundtrack once again that it rightfully deserves. DA Noel is really intimidating, but also pretty tragic at the same time, I feel (just look how happy she is in that state. It's pretty sad, in a way. She's far too gone), and the song really shows that. I love how this music adds to that personality. I just love how much personality this game and characters have.

Just bought this game with the intention of uploading gameplay to my YT channel. The game reminds me a lot of Dragon Ball FighterZ. At first I thought it took cues from DBFZ, but I looked up gameplay from the previous game in the Melty Blood series, Actress Again or whatever it was called, and the gameplay looks pretty much the same at least to my eyes. And it was a 2008 game. A 2008 game with DBFZ gameplay way back then just seems so insane to me. I wish I knew about this series back then. It seems more niche than Ys.
But yeah, I can't say the story mode is anything to write home about but the gameplay is great. Spending a lot of time in training mode with Miyako.
The story mode is actually mostly copied from Actress Again. If you want you can look up the full stories of each legacy character from AA
Story is weak because it's supposed to be a prequel story to tsukihime, which is where the real story goes down. Though with this release, they're clearly playing fast and loose with the "prequel" label.

Both characters a legit dancing in the VS screen.
Because of this theme, it makes me feel the main reason why Noel should return in Red Garden & gain a canonical version of her DA form, which is a Tatari-enhanced instead of regressing her into a loli/14 years old state, survive Tsukihime Blue & Red until Melty Blood Type Act (as one of the two major antagonists alongside Zepia, but as a final antagonist instead of the latter, where Satsuki got a further Adaptional Expansion Role because the importance of her Reality Marble). She would call Shiki a “Nanaya Brat” & Sion a “(Would Be The) Reject”, & being an attempted viper to Sacchin’s almost a farmer.

French Bread was originally going to make a general Type-Moon fighting game, it's even implied they had a few characters ready to show to TM. When they went to go pitch the game to them, TM told them they finally had a release window for the Tsukihime remake and they wanted a new Melty Blood to go alongside it. So they shifted everything to making another Melty Blood. This is one of the reasons why Saber made it in because she was one of the characters that was going to be in the general Type-Moon fighting game plus they were really eager to put her in a fighting game.

Oh right, since keys set on the ground are manually triggered, I can finally check whether or not UNI's projectile crossup protection rules apply in Lumina or not.
It looks like only the moon version of that skill is an overhead, because she does the standard version at 1:34 and it gets blocked low. May also be a variation in A or B or C
