The most unrealistic part of all this, is that the shiki is staying there and blocking
And neither of them are doing empty shields or moon drive on wakeup

@@henriquerodrigues7795 tsukihime is most likely where you want to start. You can read the original or the remake, it really doesn’t matter
@@henriquerodrigues7795 This game belongs to a different side of the nasuverse under Tsukihime. What most people are familiar with would be the Fate series side stuff. Mahou Tsukai no Yoru is on the side of Tsukihime but the source material (visual novel) of Mahou has not been translated into English yet (if you know other languages there may be translations available). An adaptation of Mahou has been announced and you can watch that when it comes out as it will definitely be translated, but it’ll be in 2 years.
If you want to get into the nasuverse in general, Tsukihime visual novel which features most of the characters in Melty Blood is quite old and has been fully translated, but it’s age shows as there are some unpolished writing. I would still recommend checking it out (there are guides on how to install it online). There’s also a Tsukihime remake out but that hasn’t been translated yet. I would still recommend Tsukihime visual novel, but just be prepared for unpolished art and writing. If you want to get into Fate, I recommend the watch order that can be found on the r/fatestaynight subreddit, though keep in mind that reading the visual novel will always be the best as some characters aren’t adapted properly in anime.

This year is off to a great start.
Oh my, the music. It's once again absolutely gorgeous, and it fits perfectly with the wonderful looking stage. I think I found my other most favorite song, alongside Red-Sprouted Memories/Mysterious Dusk. So excited to play my main Aoko again. She animates so, so well and looks so fun like she was before.
Thank you for making a really nice game. And that was even released for the xbox.

Just like Shiki's first encounter with her in that grassy field in the middle of nowhere. No matter the time, whenever those 2 see each other, it's always magical.

0:52 Slow orb as a safe ender and catches a lot of options, and she gets a lot of hitting to combo with
0:58 using the EX beam she gets to setup an orb and that air dash was to catch someone's fuzzy block. Like, they're trying to fuzzy a high-low, then you air dash close to the ground so the overhead comes out nearly at the same time of the low after you land, so yeah, she gets pretty good mix out of that EX.
1:01 she also gets a good setup out if a throw
1:13 oh that's *hella* great, just look how much space that covers. The possibilities out of that are great, like you can approach with a disjointed hitbox covering you and if it is hit or blocked, she gets a combo or starts pressure, or you can just give yourself more space to zone.
1:14 good midrange zoning, covering that range with hitboxes from orb and beam.
1:22 this stage is extremely pretty, same thing goes for her theme, and the interaction is pretty nice too.
1:33 with moon meter she gets to setup two orbs, so even more space coverage.
1:34 Shiki couldn't challenge her because of the orbs, so he put himself in a bad position where he couldn't, or at least would be pretty difficult to, react fast enough to get out of the way, so he had to hold fully charged beam, which is just free offense for Aoko. Perhaps a well timed shield would've done the deal.
If he shielded and she hadn't committed to the beam, the she had to get out of the way so A and C follow up from shield wouldn't hit her and she could anti-air in reaction to the B follow up, if Shiki hadn't done anything, the she could try to run away and keep zoning.
I love imagining scenarios like this, is like labing without playing
1:37 safe ender, returns to neutral but gets caught.
1:40 just covering a lot of options like back dash with 236B the starting free offense with drive, uses the unlockable, but she gets away.
1:44 ran straight to that disjointed hitbox that is the orb but Aoko wasn't fast enough to start pressure. Perhaps because it took so long for her to land that by the time she did landed, Shiki would've gotten out of blockstun, delaying even more the orb so you do it right when you're about to land would've fix that with the trade off of being more likely to be hit before orb is out, since it would've taken longer to do it. Or if she hadn't ran up and just used a long range move and reverse beated would've been good to, so there would be the threat of air dash or the same long range move, for high-low or catch back dash or jump.
1:46 catches him trying to go underneath an orb I guess and trying to hit her as she landed from that. Doing that seems like a good mixup from Aoko.
1:48 her rekka!
1:52 sets up the orb and waits for his option so she can try to punish, like a shield or jump, he really couldn't have mashed there as orb would've hit and she would combo. But he goes underneath with 4BC and catches Aoko not expecting for that. That's just a matchup thing it seems.
2:04 they don't go away after she blocks something, but it looks like Shiki hits them away?
2:07 that seems good to stop air approaches and she's plus after that.

2:18 one hell of a flashy blockstring and the mixup potential during that is insane
2:43 the beams to challenge, seems good because they're disjoints from being projectiles and all. Also that ender creates some really good space between the two for Aoko.
2:46 the orb threatened Shiki so he didn't challenged anything because of it, which leads to Aoko starting pressure, even though the orb didn't hit. It's just the fear factor. After that it's a pretty decent blockstring with a reverse beat and IAD.
2:50 I really thought she was going to combo out of that orb, it would have been so cool.
2:53 OH, she didn't comboed from that orb because its a knockdown setup! I assume she's going to have a lot like this, even some ones from random situations so I also assume that she needs some pretty good situation awareness of where the orbs are for that.
2:55 pretty neat overhead, it vacuums them closer as well. Don't know if she gets a free combo from that or she needed that orb.
3:00 again, sets it up and waits for their response.
3:03 could've she fuzzied a 3C aiming for the opposite direction? Like, if they went for the A or C follow up, she would've just blocked, but if it was B, she would've antiaired? Or perhaps just a reaction.
But she seems to be pretty good at baiting an opponent to shield with all those orbs, you also need to have great punishes for those too.
3:04 she gets a good setup midscreen as well

3:14 very good read and punish on the jump by Aoko.
3:18 it seems that you're able to jump cancel that on reaction and punish that with a shield (they won't be able to counter shield because it's a moon skill). You just need to be fast on the trigger. Which Aoko wasn't

Assuming she could've... looks like she should be able to jc ad to set up safejumps, but they probably just want to show off her orbs and stuff rather than just doing universal-ish stuff

But yeah, looks like she gets a lot of good safe jump setups because of her enhanced air options.
God I'm so happy that Aoko is finally getting the love and recognition that she deserves.

I don't fully know Tsukihime's story, but these interactions are the most wholesome thing I've seen in any Fighter.
If you've seen fate/stay night, she's basically kiritsugu for shiki.

I know very little about Melty Blood, I certainly don't know much about the lore, and I'm not even good at fighting games, but this Aoko girl has a certain charisma about her, and I'm all for it.
She's getting her visual novel adapted into movies by ufotable so go watch them when they're out.

@@ClockworkBees This game specifically is based on the visual novel Tsukihime: A Piece of Glass Blue Moon (a remake of the original game Tsukihime, but with only 2/5 routes). After the original came a sequel called Kagetsu no Tohya (Ten Nights of the Verses and Moon) featuring the same characters. Aoko’s upcoming VN and Movie is called Mahoutsukai no Yoru (MahoYo for short). Finally there’s a third series called Kara no Kyoukai (Garden of Sinners/KnK). Although MahoYo is a prequel to KnK and Tsukihime the three are independent titles and you can start from either one of them. Aoko mainly appears in MahoYo while in Tsukihime she a minor character who only appears in the beginning.

Because this is on the other side of anime where people don't want to be associated with THIS side. Also shielding breaks newbies minds because they can't unga bunga masv buttons. Also Aoko will break the rules and enforce setplay on her opponents, which people on the receiving end won't like.
And lastly, because it's too expensive. Call me if this is 5 bucks on steam
I like this game, but some of the system mechanics (autocombos getting in the way, shield RPS, moon drive too frequent) really turn me off it so I go through phases of playing and not playing.
