I have never messed with this type of lock but after catching up on a lot of your vids I want to try and find some to practice on, I took a couple of locks to my chemo treatment and there is a young guy that was there also and we started talking about locksporting and I think at my next treatment I am going to show him your vids. Thanks for all the time you put into these, I love watching them.
Hello mate that’s awesome I can always send you a few locks 😊 I’m sorry to hear your having treatment what is that for if you don’t mind me asking. Keep strong my friend and thanks for watching 👍🏻
Thanks a lot mate, i learned a lot more about the Vectis, never had to open one but do see a lot around so it's only a matter of time, I've pre made the filed down key for tension and now know the innards, can't wait to have a pop at one, nice one Chris your a diamond.👌
Expertly done sir I can't believe you did that so fast we don't have these kind of locks here but I'm very interested in them I think I'm going to order a set of picks from you. And try them out my friend.
Come across a few around my way. Always broken gearbox when trying to lock. So easy fix to change. But never thought of picking them as thought small levers would make it harder somehow. But I have a few gearboxes on van so may have a see. Think making a cut down key especially fot it. Would it be good to have it cut down to lowest lift? Bit like a pre lifter to get under lowest lever or will that mess with binding order
Hi Chris, sorry I am a bit late to the party with this but after watching your video I thought I would give it a go on the Vectis. I have been on this now for a week off and on. I am using a cut down key with a small picking wire. I just can't get a single lever to bind. I ended up taking the hard plate off so I could see what was going on inside. All levers lift no problem and look like they can go to full height. The levers are a 2, 1, 2, 6, 2 from memory. I can get under lever 4 easily enough and lift it but it just won't stay up no matter what tension I apply? No other lever will bind either? Please any ideas Matt What am I doing wrong?
Just a note it is a old lock that has been taken out a job, with no key but I can manually manipulate the levers to get the bolt through and the curtain will Unlock the lock.

Hello mate no a pre lifter would be fine if taking to the first height as it will allow the others to bind then. Really nice locks to pick 👍🏻
@@chrisevanslockpicking9241 i take it i use
standard pick wire you sent me. Btw still waiting for video tips but guess its mental at moment
