5:38 From what I could find, Insane Cancer is saying, “O~i naa” Which means, “Hey there!” Heather takes damage, she responds, “i~tai yan’ ka!” (In the original game audio files, anyway. In-game it’s “hai yan’ ka!”) This supposedly means, “That hurt!” But “hai yan’ ka” also means, “Yes, isn’t it?” If she dies, she says, “Owari ka yo?” “Is it over?” He says something else that sounds like, “yidi ska da ne.” I can’t for the life of me find out what that means. Even my translator apps can’t translate it. I think he’s asking a question about where she’s from, some people think it’s something like, “You’re from the moon, aren’t you?” Don’t quote me on that, I’m probably wrong. But that’s the BEST I could find. lol Kick ass video, BTW! 6:03 she’ll do that war cry wearing that costume while using that particular weapon.
I hate to go "well actually" but the costume doesn't matter for 6:03. She'll do the cry as long as she uses the maul on the 1st floor of otherworld Hilltop, with or without the Princess Heart costume, and it's the only place in the game she does it. It'd be awesome if she could do it anywhere with the costume and weapon equipped, though haha.
There’s two things about drop offs that wasn’t mentioned yet For one you can’t fall off in any death pits on easy difficulty, there’s like a invincible wall that prevents you from falling off to your death Another thing that is interesting is that you can go back to the first floor of the overworld Shopping Center by dropping down instead of using the ladder and that cause you to take fall damage which is interesting since there is no other place in the game that does that since other drop offs kills you
@@phantomwolf7580 oh it was amazing! I needed to look through guides a couple times on puzzles and how to kill certain bosses quick. But it was indeed really great. I've even completed SH4 after playing 3

Something I should have mentioned in the video: When using reverse walk/run controls, don't hold run button when backing up. When using the default walk/run controls, hold run button when backing up.
Interestingly enough, I don't believe equipping the Maul is necessary for the Insane Cancer easter egg. That's what I've always heard, too, so I had no reason to doubt it, but I'm playing an ENG run with just the Heather/Sexy Beam for RetroAchievements (there's an achievement for getting the Revenge ending, naturally) and the Japanese dialogue played for me in that room with the Transform costume & no weapon equipped. I didn't get hit to test if the female dialogue played; wish I had, just wasn't thinking in the moment. Didn't click until after I left the room that "Oh dang, I thought you were supposed to have the Maul equipped for that to happen."
Great video! Out of curiosity: do you have a recording of your extreme x 10-star ranking run? I'm grinding 10-star speedruns and your time is very impressive, especially for a single-segment run. I'd love to take some notes from your route. Thank you!
Back when I was making Silent Hill videos, I was going to make a 10 Star extreme X video and I used save states to practice. The ranking shown at the very end was a result of this practice, so it's not really a real ranking. I never got around to recording a 10 star extreme X video, either. I have a normal 10 star rank guide (2 saves, hard mode) in the full playlist in the description. TKMO, Radgecast, and MrMcsqueezy have recorded quick 10 Star Extreme X runs, and they shouldn't be that hard to find.
@@RuminInLove Thank you very much for the quick response! Yes I watched all of these runs lol. I recently beat Radge's time single-segment hard/hard (got 59:31, it's on my youtube), and today I got a 1:10:32 on extreme x with two saves (will upload tomorrow when I make a thumbnail). Your time caught my curiosity because it was 12 mins below TKMO's and single-segment, but I get it now haha. Hopefully someday I'll get a single-segment extreme x run, but even a segmented one took everything I had Thank you again for the clarification and for the amazing Silent Hill content you put out, you made a fellow SH fan very happy to find your channel!
@@RuminInLove oh my bad just meant it be cool to see since your other silent hill streams makes it more entertaining with your commentary. I'm halfway through silent hill homecoming

@@RuminInLove ah! Good to know. I haven’t played this game in years.
I wonder what the orgin of this is... kinda a wierd decision for the makers to add.

That's really cool about the maul being effective against slurpers. I had no idea they were easy to stealth around, either.
