Hi Rumin, your walkthrough helps me a lot but there're still two things I can't figure out: how to move camera to look up like 5:48? I tried many keys but couldn't do that. And how to swing Great Knife side to side? I can only wield it overhead (I'm playing normal difficulty on PC using PS2 emulator with keyboard and mouse)

Just revisiting this but man...this version is not as dark as the remake. Even the brightness setting could not improve my overall vision.

Some minor mistakes: When I said "Pyramid Head isn't here for Alex", I should have clarified a bit more. Pyramid Head is a manifestation from Alex this time around, and Alex resents his father. So, Pyramid Head is here to punish Alex's father, which is why I said PH wasnt here for Alex specifically. When Adam tells Alex he was in a mental hospital, that could be interpreted as Adam referring to the first dream. So the first dream sequence is Alex literally leaving the hospital! Pyramid stabs him to jolt him into his next dream in Shepherd's Glen. When Elle asks "what did you see in there?" I like to imagine she was asking about Alex's entire dream, rather than referring to just the final boss.

Why do you refuse to heal? 😭😭 Is it part of the thrill?

I always use the auto save button combo at the pyramid chase for my first save. When you auto save there and re load pyramid head disappears.

Just beat this game for the first time ever, holy shit what a fucking game, honestly always thought people were overhyping the game but i was wrong this games a masterpiece, this has became one of my favorite games ever, I can’t wait to replay it again at some point on the harder difficulty, i know that this play through of urs is older but man you really helped me out as a first time player (so thank you very much for that) I’m wondering if i understand the story correctly, is James actually dead and Silent Hill is purgatory? It’s believed in faith that to escape purgatory you must make right with whatever it was before you are able to enter the afterlife, I feel like how once James finally understands why he was brought back he can finally move onto the afterlife with Mary, just my two cents (probably just my own thoughts?) now time to move onto Silent Hill 3 👍 please let me know if my theory makes any ounce of sense 🤣 Do kinda wish i got to experience the og version, i played the HD remaster (i know it’s kinda hated but i had no problems 🤷‍♂️)

thank god you made this video man. i've been spending the past two hours alone on fighting the twin pyramid heads and then maria. i had to restart the pyramid head fight to at least have some healing left because i had none after my first attempt 😭 i was so mentally exhausted after doing that fight twice that this made it way less mentally taxing to do this fight after watching this. again thank you so much for this ❤

Sorry for the double post I did manage to get the green beam Hyper Blaster along with the Good+ ending. Was tricky because the time, I almost mess up 😅 I replayed again to get the ending Good, doing Dr Kaufmann sidequest and killing Cybil. I used the green Hyper Blaster only; insane damage weapon, even the demon didn't endure. I saved the game, got the X5 bullet setting but the green text regarding the Hyper Blaster Power Up was gone.... Loaded that file and, UFO weapon having red beam again.... Can you tell me why this happened??

I recently finished sh3 sh4 and all of sh2 hd directors cut and from the unlockables here I'd say that sh3 has the best unlockables it sucks that Henry doesn't get a infinite ammo wepon but from this guide I'd say the best unlockable here out of all of them is the infinite healing health drinks and the infinite amount of handgun ammo. Thanks for the guide it was great and thanks for explaining I'll definitely try these out at some point. Because I'm still trying to finish sh1 and sh5 homecoming yikes 😬

Yeah when I get stuck in games I normally brute force it till I win... Like mostly abusing game macincs like just runn past them... Abusing level geometry to make the right way osulite... and cheat codes and mods if there was no other way... But yeah that was win I was a kid and not a vetern Game jornolist... Now I don;'yt need to do that stuff in the games I cover as I''m a L33t gamer now... Though a skip turtorials as I hate them so much on a personal level as they are drag on for so long. Limit gameplay to a input at a time meaning the gamer dance to learn the controls does not work till the game opens up... Make me read a book on stuff that I can learn the instant I am ingame... And most importantly I get srtuck far to often in tutorials because they want you to do a thing and I can't because I would have to unlearn my everything and it never matters again in that game or in any other... So yeah missing a door is far better and relatble then being a games jorniolist who can';t beat a turtorail.

That isn't a soft lock as it isn't something game breaking. Though anyone who is new to video games can get stuck like that so don't feel to bad. Like grown mature experienced adults who are new to a genre do stuff like that all the time much less little kids who are not fully grown yet.

Really enjoyed this walkthrough series! Your commentary is captivating and I appreciate your attention to detail in both walkthroughs I’ve watched so far (this one and Silent Hill 2). I find myself completing chapters that I don’t need assistance with and then going back to watch your video about the chapter(s) I’ve just finished just so I can hear what you have to say about it all, and to see if I missed anything along the way. I’m glad I tuned in for your tip about defeating God with a melee weapon! Not sure if that unlocked the Flamethrower or Unlimited sub machine gun but I was rewarded both! Also, screw that puzzle in the hospital with the door code and the poem bc my goodness, I would’ve NEVER put that together. Once I’m done beating all of these Silent Hill games for my first time I plan to go back and get all the extra items that are seemingly impossible to obtain with all these ridiculous pre requisites 😅 I’m looking forward to your Silent Hill: The Room walkthrough next!

I had that happen to me with Yoda's hut. Never finished the level 100% because of that and therefore never completed the second game until one day I saw a video of someone entering the hut.

I'm not sure if you answered this anywhere else so I'll just ask here. Do you know the exact mechanics behind how many hauntings need to be cleared to get the good ending? It says 80% but what does that mean? 80% of the ones that appear? 80% of total possible hauntings? Do you need to "farm" hauntings if you find yourself without enough towards the end?

It's so interesting to see someone breaking down SH4's obtuse mechanics so long after release. I recently started my 2nd ever playthrough after playing it as a kid so it's cool to see how all this actually works.
