    Great video! I have a black 2008 ISF and she is all blacked out. A lot of people don't know how rare and special these cars are and every now and then when driving I'll see someone pull out their phone and start filming the car.

      Nice, and exactly another reason why I wanted the F is because of its rarity, everyone thinks it’s a 250 or 350 that wants to line it up and then you make them rethink their life choices when you gun it😂

    hey man , I’m planning on buying an IS F with just under 174k. Valley plate has not been resealed. Is there anything else I should be worried about ? motor mounts, ball joints, caster bushings, etc.

    • @FFamilyLB
      @FFamilyLB  5 місяців тому +5

      Awesome man, I would recommend it, but yes, so the valley play leak is the Achilles heel of the ISF, it normally starts showing itself at around 100 K miles, but pricewise to repair it really depends on your mechanic and where you take it, some people say they pay 1000. Some say they pay 3000, it really just depends on the mechanic you go to, luckily for me personally I didn’t have to get it resealed mine was already resealed, but other than that, I believe the second biggest thing for the ISF is the carbon buildup in the intake runners I believe, due to the direct and poor injection system for the injectors, me personally I haven’t had to deal with that just because I do drive pretty spiritedly and normally when you drive it kinda hard it does get rid of that carbon buildup, pretty good, but honestly, just general maintenance too, bushings arms, just stuff like that that you would do on any other car plus since it is a Lexus/Toyota, you can probably drive on a bad bushing for 100 K miles and you’ll still be good lol, one upgrade a lot of F drivers do are the RR racing USRS bushing system, it’s basically a lower control arm bushing and if you don’t get that upgraded, it does tend to cause more inner tire wear no matter how low or how high you have your car raised or how many times you get an alignment, if you don’t upgrade that bushing, it’ll chew up the inner tire, not too excessively, but enough to the point where you’ll realize I’m swapping out my front tires too often than I should, bumper tabs is another one watch out for, but at his heart, it is a Lexus/Toyota so just regular general maintenance, the good thing though is that regarding all of the mountain ball joints and everything for the F, there’s always an upgraded stiffer version witch for a track car like the F would be an upgrade

    How are these VLAND headlights? In terms of cutoff and brightness and how far they project (since they are LED I think)? One of mine suffers too much UV damage and polishing doesn't work anymore, so I'm looking to see for replacement!

    • @FFamilyLB
      @FFamilyLB  2 місяці тому +1

      Understandable, I had that UV problem on my old 350, the Vlands are great, I love them and the look, funny enough I got mine for 250 “open box” off eBay and they looked brand new when I got them, definitely a good replacement than old OEM, my F did come with Depos that I’m going to eventually retrofit some better/stronger projectors and what not and then throw those back on, cut off is good, very bright, lights up everything, imo the high beams are a let down when using the highs, some have better throw with their highs, I did have the overall raise both headlights when I first got them but ever since them they been perfect for me

    • @ricepredator
      @ricepredator 2 місяці тому +1

      @@FFamilyLB Thanks for the feedback! Hard to tell the high beam in video because you'd need more than a few feet to tell the output and what it might look like on the actual road. I assume you are talking about the leveling of the light when you said "raise both headlights", did you mean you have to kind of prop up the headlights a bit since they don't fit in the OEM bracket properly?

    • @FFamilyLB
      @FFamilyLB  2 місяці тому

      Yea no problem and the cut off is good I don’t think I used my highs at all in the video but yea I meant raising them by adjusting the leveler, they fit in the OEM bracket perfectly, I always get compliments from other vland owners about how much better my vlands output is, 10/10 would recommend, and I would say if you can and are able to, to have the DRL low beam bulb turned off so you won’t get the flicker anymore and will just have the DRL check mark when driving with the DRLs on

    Hey, im looking at a few ISF’s and I was wondering what I should be paying for a ~100k mile ISF. Also, do you recommend saving money and go for a high mileage or pay more for a lower mileage? Also, are there any major issues that i should be worried about?

    • @FFamilyLB
      @FFamilyLB  Місяць тому

      100k miles id say mid 20s, if it’s matador or USB then it could be high mid 20s, and honestly mileage is up to you completely, me personally idc about miles, there’s an ISF FBO tuned that has over 420k miles and still pumping strong, these cars are 15+ years old and people are still on the OEM starter, it’s very reliable no matter what’s thrown at it, the only thing that is a known problem is the valley plate leak but by now if the F was driven more than likely it’s been fixed in the past

    • @FFamilyLB
      @FFamilyLB  5 місяців тому +1

      Yea mine is an 09, when I got it it had 175 on the dash and now I’m sitting just under 210, in that time frame I’ve just done tires, brakes, and oil, nothing major since the valley plate leak has been taken care of before in the past, only a minor thing with a battery terminal but that was because of the pervious owner, and I think that’s the reason why my power steering ecu wasn’t reading right, but after unplugging both and having the car “reset” them and fixing that battery terminal it’s been purring like a kitten

      it had 175k and listed for 18k with 3 previous owners and all car fax up to date, after everything was said and done tax and registration and insurance it was about 20k which to me personally is a steal lol, me personally tho I wouldn't pay more than 25k for 100k miles, maybe if it was a rarer color (usb or mrm) and newer year but thats about it

    Thinking abt buying this car in a couple months can u recommend the mileage and year i should buy at? Ive heard abt bushing and valley plate issues as well but i dont want a high car payment super young bc im 21 n i could sell my accord rn for 25k and its only has 192 hp lol so ik the isf is way more than what i need. I want to get into something faster n reliable without breaking the bank since ive been having so many damn issues with my 1.5t accord. Was gona buy an after market warranty just incase i face any of those issues

    • @FFamilyLB
      @FFamilyLB  8 днів тому +1

      Honestly in my opinion, mileage doesn’t matter to me as long as it’s a clean title and has decent serviceability on the carfax, I bought my F at 175k ish and now I’m pushing along 215k 2 years later with no issues besides oil, tires, and brakes. But here’s kinda the rule of thumb price guide
      If you’re look for something with close to 100k miles, 2008/2009 you’re most likely goanna be in the high 20s
      2008/2009 150-200k you’ll be mid to low 20s
      if it’s Ultra Sonic Blue, mid to high 20s depending on mileage
      Ultra Sonic blue 2010+, high 20s low 30s
      If it’s matador mica red, mid to high 20s depending on mileage
      Matador Mica Red 2010+, high 20s low 30s
      2010+ you’re easily at high 20s maybe even low 30s
      Less than 100k you’re easily over 30k
      2012+ youre anywhere in the 30s
      2014 you’re easily in the 40s
      I was able to afford my F at 22 years old, if you’re a hustler and don’t like being broke and would rather work more than you hang out with friends then it’s possible, you just gotta put your head down and bust your ass a little and you could get it done, you gotta sacrifice tho and that’s not what many young guys want to do but if you can you can afford it for sure, especially if you can get 25k for your accord then you can probably find an F with a little bit higher miles for closer to 20 and then with whatever you have left over you can either freshen up the car paint wise or throw some goodies on it, and I also did buy an aftermarket warranty as well and haven’t had to use it yet, also if you were to get a older F/higher mileage F, most likely all the recalls and repairs (VP leak, dash panels, and LCA bushings) have been done already

Like you id rather work n bust my ass off then go out n party i was thinking abt buying the isf or and f82 m4 but might go with the F bc i can pay it off way faster n might be able to buy it cash bc with the f82 is my dream car but i would have to get a loan on it. What do u think i should do go with the loan or just buy the isf cash. As much as i love the isfs but the f82s is my dream/attainable car but that car has way higher maintenance n issues so idk man its alot to think abt. • @FFamilyLB
      @FFamilyLB  7 днів тому +1

      Funny enough I’ve been in finances my whole life since my dad is a credit union branch manager so I can answer all these questions for you😂
      Honestly BMWs are cool and fast but I personally wouldn’t buy a BMW pre-2020, pre-2020 all bmw reliability is shit, everyone knows that and you can even ask BMW owners themselves, after 2020 that’s when Toyota and BMW partnered and that’s when BMWs became somewhat reliable, BMWs are performance WITH luxury.
      On the other hand you have Lexus, premium luxury and bulletproof, very low maintenance and maintenance cost, it’s a Toyota after all, plus they’re easy to work on yourself, can’t say the same for BMW, and Lexus has some quick cars, F lineup and the 500 series, but Lexus is luxury with SOME performance.
      In your situation the M4 vs ISF, stock for stock they’re about the same, me personally I’ve raced and beat m3/m4s, but the newer ones tho😂
      Performance wise at the end of the day you can make more power with the m4, but more power also means more issues, not too sure on the numbers but you can make well past 600 on an M4 relatively cheap, you can do that on an F too but you’re goanna be 10k deep off the bat for just the SC kit, realistically you’ll be at 450-460 whp, FBO with E85, and that’s not slow by any means, especially in a 3800 lbs car, you’ll move pretty quick, but it’s not goanna be m4 numbers. So if you’re content with 450 wheel RELIABLY with no headache or breaking the bank and having a rare car that no one knows about (they probably do now because of freshkicks😂) Then the F is the way to go
      As far as paying for the car that is completely up to you, the only thing I would say since you’re 21 is if you do get the loan, and pay a majority of it off, off the bat and then just do the minimum payments until it’s paid off, that’ll help build your credit which rn youre in the 700s from a credit card im pretty sure so you’ll have more backing on your credit report showing you had a car or personal loan, whichever you prefer to go for.
      All in all it’s up to you, it’s your life your money, but me personally I went with the F because I’m a Lexus enthusiast and it’s a relatively rare car.

      @@FFamilyLByea honestly man its very tuff choice for me still i fucking love isfs they r such sleepers not alot of ppl know abt them n their capabilities especially top end with sum e but i rlly do want a f82, ever since hs its been a dream of mine but i might just buy the isf n keep for a couple years n then upgrade to the g80 when my finances r where id like them to be honestly. There is a 2011 isf for sale near me going for 36k at 100k miles thats a lil too much right? if u dont mind me asking how much did u picks urs up for? Bc i found a 2018 f82 comp for abt 46k near with 61k miles clean carfax n i could put atleast 20k down n can haggle the price down a bit as well. But i would be stuck with that loan for awhile so idk. Ive heard ppl say that the new/dream car motivates them to work even harder n make more income to afford it and everything it entails but at the same time not having a car payment is always best. N abt building my credit would it be better from the isf stand point just putting alot down n just paying it off quicker within a couple months to a year or going with the f82 route with the traditional loan. I pay off my honda in like 2 months n alrdy got someone offered 25k so thats a plus. But ur opinion is deeply appreciated it n helps a fuck ton u have no idea need better insight and advice from someone in the same boat as me that has alrdy done it. I do love toyota n lexus but i also love bmws too so im stuck between the two as those are my 2 favorite car manufacturers. I stay up at night everyday just thinking abt what car to get as i love both sm and i rlly can't decide my gf is getting sick n tired of me complaining n nagging to her abt what car im going to buy next lol.
