    What do you think of Bugologbi flats?
    I was surprised that they're 64 years but still beautiful and well kept!

      Those flats were high end back in the day like the brown/white flats of kamwokya. I went to school with children of civil servants most of them residing in them.

      @defiant1716 my aunt and uncle still live there, I used to visit and stay with them, but the theft was terrible. People would literally steal your bed covers from your bed. They would use a long wire and pull the bed cover. I still gwt shocked remembering that.

    The Bungalows neighborhood of Bugolobi is leafy, vegetative and scenic
    I used to go biking 🚲 out there ...all the way to Mbuya and Kitintale... Good sights and sounds.

    I grew up on Princess Anne Drive in Bugos and we visited friends in the flats often. Bugolobi market didn’t exist then. It was Middle East. …and that church? We were there from the beginning. The foundry was laid, we had church at a nearby hostel while it was being built. Good to see it now. Thanks for the tour. Pre 1988.

    I had a dog when I lived in Washington, DC. I had to walk her because she lived in the small apartment with me. She had to be taken out twice a day to use the bathroom. She also loved to get outdoors.

    You should also go do a tour of Luzira, Portbell and Lake Drive...

    De Flats were built without those anti-burglar on balconies. There was then security in Bugolobi in 70s, actually in Kla as a whole!

      @@ConnectWithUgandaI think Ugandans have adopted that dog walking culture from the west. The reason why people in the west walk their dogs is because in the city people do not have big compounds for dogs to run around and most animals stay indoors especially in the winter so, what happens is they take their dogs for walks so that they also get excercise. Unless one lives in the country side where most people have big big compounds. They also have dog parks in the west. So a park like for children but this one is for dogs. They also have dog and cat day care centers. You see how we take our kids to day care before we go to work. Some people take their dogs and also when they go on vacation they leave their dogs there so its like a ka boarding school for dogs.
      They also have pet shops and in some of those shops you find groomers who shave dogs, cut their nails, bath them, and make them look nice.
      The dog buisness here is big buisness.

    Bugolobi was built in early 70's in Amin's regime (could hav been planed end 60s) meant for Civil servants but junior army officers were housed there, too. When Amin created de Marine Unit in de army, it wasnt there before in de army, they were sent for training to Iraq, on returning were also housed there!

      You r correct, I wonder were she got her 1960 narrative. They were built for civil servants, completed in early 1970's and turned into a military garrison, then back to civil servants until they started selling them of in early 2000.

    Rae dogs are confined in our small home compounds and dont get to burn most of their energy so is it very very very important to take your dog on long walks for the good of their mental and physical health and also its like taking a walk with your bestie

      @ConnectWithUganda  3 місяці тому
