As a kid i used to cut school to take a walk around those places as they were calm and peaceful unlike downtown Kampala or when i wanted to go catch up on some public functions at Kololo airstrip so memories is all i have now
The main reason I love watching your videos is, you remind me of my motherland, that feeling of being home... Miss home, miss my Uganda. At least I was in some of those places before I left 🇺🇬
Wow I really admire your commitment to bringing us meaningful and interesting content. As a Zambian who has visited Kampala it has brought back wonderful memories😊
Thank you for showing us some greenery in Kampala. The roads are clean. Your choice to vlog on Sunday when there is less traffic has exposed the beauty of some areas of the City and surburbs when properly taken care of. Your vlog was good and peaceful.
Yeahhhhhh, finally I see the school that made me. East Kololo Primary School. Dr. Obote and Basilio Okello stayed just a stone throw away from the school. Sad the school is now run down and looks like a village school. It was among the best in the 1980s. Thank you.
Nice Uganda was my home long time ago still love Uganda I was born there I do vista now and than some of my family live there IN KOLOLO and part KAMPALA LOVE UGANDA UK
What a beautiful vlog-very nostalgic. It brought back so many memories. The place that said "no photography" was a minister's residence. The American Ambassador's residence is in upper Kololo, right near Summit View. East Kololo Primary School is a government school from P1 to P7. Obote lived not far away. Most of their land has been encroached upon and stolen. The Russian embassy used to be the embassy of the USSR, and at the end of Baskerville was our residence. Thank you so much
Prince Charles drive was named after the now King of the United Kingdom. I love the work ethic in your vlogs. I loved seeing two of my former schools. East kololo and City high school.
You just took me back in time! Seeing my former school, East Kololo primary. Kololo is quiet but so interesting to live in and it's a neighborhood l would advise parents to raise their children in.
At the corner of Prince Charles Drive is where former Internal Affairs minister and Secretary General of UPC, Luwuriza Kirunda lived. Loved every minute of it. Brought fond childhood memories.
I must say Rae is more informed and informative than so many Ugandan bloggers no wonder i find myself watching all her vlogs to the end however long they could be yet am not a fan of long videos
Well done dear you deserve a clap 👏👏👏 , good job even it has been defcalt to many people to find where the embassies in Uganda. For me I have appreciated thanks for the video and thanks for not being selfish you have made the kids happy may God add you more God bless you and I put our country in hands of lord thanks Uganda for being with good friendship with ather countries I lilly like it so much !!! ,❤❤❤
Prince Charles Drive was renamed “25 January Avenue “ by Idi Amin when he took over power from Milton Obote in 1971. Amin has a private residence on the Avenue which he calls “Command Post” near the airstrip. Nice coverage you made today.
Thank you for the tour of this area. For me, this is an insight where to checkout for apartments when I eventually make the move to relocate. Would appreciate it if you could please do more of such tours of some nice neighbourhoods not on the high end of rentals and buys like Kololo Hills.

😅I am going to stay at the four points in the video for a business meeting. Thank you for this helpful video which gives me a good layout of everything. The kids on the camera at the end were cute.
I watched a documentary where those kids are ferried in , mostly from Karamoja and some from Teso to come beg money for families in Kampala. It’s a real tragedy indeed because their families are paid as little as 50k to surrender them.
Thank u so much for taking us around. Those kids are annoying. Up to now the KCCA has failed to get a permanent solution for street kids. Apparently majority if not all kids and adult people begging on the street are from one region karamoja. I hear there are individuals who felly them on buses , drop them on streets to beg and those individuals get money from them. It's like a business. There are many universal education schools I don't know why parents deny these kids education, now as they grow up they are going to be criminals
Kololo, which is supposed to be the Beverly Hills of Kampala, is sooo dirty, a personal opinion though. It was cleaner 43 years ago during the time of Idi Amin. Expelled Asian Indians called Kololo Hill home. I have been away 40+ years & at one time lived on acacia avenue as a young boy, but I am sorry to say that it seems everything has changed for the worst. Check out Kigali neighborhoods, for comparison purposes, then you will probably know what I mean. The people who are supposed to keep Kololo clean & up to standard should all be fired. They are doing a lousy job, if at all they work.
@@hazelpraise7934 yes the camera makes it worse but most roads in kololo which is such an upscale location need to be revamped or modified to match the level of development up there
Bro they do , when there's traffic jam😂😂😂and if carelessly pull ur windows down they even spit on u if u don't give them what they want😢😢😢 poor kids are being used by grown up ass women n men , but that's life it's not fair for everyone , that's y most people when they find kids begging they give them food instead of money , cox they are not in charge of that money once it's given to them
Prince Charles' drive should be named Cassava Maze Drive. The black man can not have his name on a drive in England. North Korea shouldn't be in Uganda. Nobody wants to go there. No African shouldn't require a visa to go to another African country. That's insulting.

interesting! What years were those? the 80's? were there ordinary Ugandans in those neighborhoods?

Great job

Grew up in that area. I was glad to see all the streets I played in and passed to go to school and friend's places.
I grew up and lived along Elizabeth Ave. Went to East Kololo Primary School.
I saw you pass Elizabeth Ave and you didn't turn into the street I lived
Watching you from South Africa forums 🇿🇦 interesting to know that Uganda has North Korea embassy.

Interesting kids... 😂, enjoying their evening
You mentioned North Korea Embassy. That was Idi Amin's house. I often passed there on my way to school and just below is where Dr. Obote stayed!

Most of these roads here have been outlived and plans are on to renovate them for those of u who are worried about the condition of the roads
