That's what I call a great video. Thanks for showing us all those games, and I was happy to see you put An Untitled Story and Super Mario War in the list, they're one of the greatest indie games I played... for now :]
seriously...thank you so much for posting this. that must of taken a lot of work to put together and add the fact that you made timestamps of each game and links....you awesome! i cant appreciate this enough!
must have taken a year to make this man... thanks for all the love put in 1 video... I don't think post 90s kids understand that this is the kind of gaming gold mine we live in today.. I grew up with like 3 good games a year and played them over and over... now you can literally game a new game every few hours and never run out of options ... Also anyone reading this .. would be cool to know your favorites on this list TY!!! OXOXOX
Very great video upload! Thanks for the game title sub-titling, and the list of games with time marks. SOoo many awesome games to look for and try out ^^.
This is an amazingly wonderful idea. I have played somany indie games, yet the ones you shown here were mostly unknown to me. I'll be busy for a while! Thanks, we need more videos like these on UA-cam.
Shooters and platformers...they don't have multimillion advertising campaigns, they don't have movie tie-ins, they don't have famous writers and licensed soundtracks...because they don't need them. They're fun on their own. Fantastic video.
@masterfox3000 All 3 songs are from Bit Shifter. You can download the whole "Information Chase" album - that includes all songs - for free from the 8bitpeoples...Links can be found in the drop down menu (located below the video) and at the end of the video.
@faneochen music is from bit shifter as mentioned at the end of the video and in the description field. you can download the whole "information chase" album for free from the 8bitpeoples. (link in the description field)
Daaang you actually collected Gunroar, Torus Trooper, Tumiki Fighters, Rayhound, Chalk, and Warning Forever. And even Liero! This is one amazing list, high five to that! :D
@TheoneandonlyPym watch the video in fullscreen and then move the cursor carefully to the bottom... in fullscreen mode the annotation box is big enough to park the cursor on it...wait and after 2 secs the bar will dissapear so you can see the titles of the games. it's a bit tricky but doable. :)
@British1500 There are 2 games with similarities to Major Havoc: Star Guard (low res) appears in this video at 7:50 and Neon Runner (not low res) appears at 5:13 on the 190 free indie games in 10 minutes video.
Amazing. A lot of interesting stuff worth checking out. Half way through watching that I wonder if a Turrican inspired game would show up. Was not disappointed.
@Relaxxxvan the links to all games can be found on pixelprospector... just follow the link below the video and click on "235 free indie games in 10 minutes", then scroll down to 2:30 drone. :)
@technoeevee That's because since the relaunch of PP I haven't updated all Links yet. (The link structure changed... The whole URL is still the same only the date is removed). However just go to PixelProspector . com and then click on "Video Specials" in the top navigation... These links are working ;)
@Fizzbuzzbizzfuzz you can find some beat em ups on pixelprospector . com (just click on "free->beat em up" or "in development->beat em up" on the right side bar)
@flipsiide10 some of them do have Mac ports... just go the homepage and click on the "find games with tags" on the right side bar.... there you will find the Mac tag... :)
A few games that I've played that I suggest to those skimming through this video: 1:40 Cave Story (perfect storyline and game, you have to play it to understand the beauty of it) 3:15 Gang Garrison 2 (brilliant 2d version of Team Fortress 2, free and fun) 5:45 N (addictive platformer with absolutely perfect physics and controls. Feel like a real ninja. Also try N+) 9:11 Toribash (hilarious fighting game, unique mechanics where you control the joints instead of your character , must play)
@CrazyKillerStickman Well, that may be convenient but it wouldn't be nice to the developers since you wouldn't need to visit their site anymore (the pack would also be huge....at least 5 GB! Moreover some games may get updates every once in a while..). Therefore the best way to go is to watch first the 235 video....and if a particular game is of interest simply click on the screen to watch the longer gameplay video.... and then download the game and enjoy it ... and then repeat etc.... ;-)
this music is called "chiptune music" (there is also a documentary about it called "reformat the planet"). you can find lots of chiptune music on "bandcamp. com / tag / chiptune" :)
Hell yea! Cave Story, La-Mulana, GENETOS, and Warning Forever! Love these freeware games. You know, the doujin / indie fighting game game Vanguard Princess deserves a spot here, too.
Such a great video, songs are awesome and the games as well. Great job!! These games are so great, I like a game like these as much as i like a game like Call of duty :)
One thing that struck me, is that the really memorable games are the ones with really good characters and good gameplay. Less graphical insanity, astublieft.
To anyone reading this, one game off this list you should *definitely* play is Obake. It's really original, playing as a ghost who is able to take over your enemies and use their powers, and it is criminally underrated. Like so goddamned underrated that there is only like 2 english lets plays I have found so far... Which is sooo sad, since I had so much fun playing this as a kid. It needs to be more well known. So if you like it, spread the word!
@gabyjumper this is chiptune music :) check out 8bitpeoples[dot]com and 8bc[dot]org. also consider to watch the documentary "reformat the planet"... google this-> penny arcade reformat the planet.

Wow! A great showcase of multiple indie games and great music. This is a great download PixelProspector!👍
I tried not to blink or else I would miss one
My damn childhood right here. Plus my love for bit shifter

I could tell this wasn't some half assed video that was put together in 5 minutes...
That's why I'm subscribing...
Awesome.
I would like to see Cortex Command and Braid in your next video.
Both of them are amazingly fun indie games.
Yes! Great, really liked your stuff ! Music is the greatest human invention isn't it? I'm so happy to be a musician!
Wow.. That's a ton of games and lot of effort you put to made this video. Awesome
@flipsiide10 some of them do have Mac ports... just go the homepage and click on the "find games with tags" on the right side bar.... there you will find the Mac tag... :)
This pretty much summarized my childhood.
Makes me proud to support indie developers.

@MineROFLcraft due to the site restructure not all games aren't integrated into the new site yet... will be fixed in about a week though :)
this music is called "chiptune music" (there is also a documentary about it called "reformat the planet"). you can find lots of chiptune music on "bandcamp. com / tag / chiptune" :)
@Relaxxxvan The developer told me that there might be a more polished sequel someday... (Maybe it will offer a survival mode)
Can you please explain how to record Ainvoltas or whatever with fraps? It's a fantastic game!
Bit-Shifter? I am already in love.
Now you gotta pay like $5 to get most of these on Steam or console.
Where did you get that information? I think that most of these games are still free.
wow awesome research source, tks man
guys if you set fraps to record your aero desktop it will record games like this then you just have to scale it a bit when you edit the video
Very nice work!!! Thank you for the upload!!! ^^
If I remember correctly I recorded it with Camtasia because FRAPS didn't work...
Were all these games made using Game Maker? Pretty awesome stuff!
-Great video

Thanks for this! Post more videos like this! Good music!
Can you make a running platform game mix with canabalt type games?
Can you do another edition of the Multiplayer Edition?
I have to check those games out. I love the shmups and some of the games reminds me of Dreamcast graphics which is a A plus to me.
Great music, especially the last song.
