after searching for over an hour i finally found this video and understand the footswitches. thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just a quick note - for those hearing a slight "glitch" or pop or scratch sound when he's changing Scenes/Tones, i have to assume he is connected to FM3-Edit, which is an editor for the computer via USB cable. It's not necessarily meant to be running during a "performance" or any time you want a pure sound when changing tones. the noises you hear are the communication and synchronizing of parameters between computer and FM3. the FM3 on its own will not make these sorts of noises as you wouldn't have FM3-Edit open during the gig. great video, but just wanted to mention this for those new to Fractal Audio gear.
Sid R. Sid R. As I mentioned, it’s an editor and not meant for live performance. It takes time to send communication over USB. It is not a bug but how it has always worked. Just pause Edit or disconnect at the gig. Like I said, you shouldn’t have an editor connected during a gig in most situations so this isn’t an issue when performing.
R.L Lynch FW 12.xx recently sped up preset and scene switching. Cliff mentioned it’s not on the FM3 yet, but is possibly going to be added. Regardless they’ll speed it up as much as possible.
Thank you for that informative and thoughtful video. I have been on the FM3 waitlist since last April and am likely to purchase one. I play many gigs in the US and love the idea of portability as well as quality. I'm a big fan of the Dumble amp models on the AX8 and I'm hoping I can recreate and/or surpass the sounds I've achieved with my current unit. I'm also hoping there is a headphone jack on the FM3. Anyway, thanks again for your efforts... they're appreciated from Maryland, US. Home of PRS Guitars!
Hi mate,Im in Melbourne,I didnt notice in the vid but I've been following on the Fractal forum, They said rather than delay the release more and scrap the stock they had the first batch would be without the Jack, theres plenty of people who don't need/want that feature but if they do they would have to wait till the next batch in April. Hoping we get some Aussie units in the April run
Thanks for the video Bernd - I’m a huge fan of Axe FX products and am in the market for one of your floorboards. Originally I had ruled the FM3 out because I was worried that three switches would not be enough but you have really turned my head on this. I would love to see some more videos on this subject of how I can get my three main gig sounds (clean, crunch and kick ass lead) with options for adding drive, chorus, delay & boost etc for each. I’m looking to do this with the minimum amount of tap dancing. Maybe boost could be kicked in via an expression pedal?
Your English is great... thank's for the info. oh... KILLER guitar work also...Is EVERYTHING.. the FM3? Or have other programs entered. VERY well done, nice info.
Great video! I wonder how you can move from your 9 options(scenes) to another 9 with other amps and configurations if you don’t have buttons for changing “banks” in a gig situation??? Thanks for the answer.
Great demoing video, for which really appreciated. Two questions : As with Axe3, amp block is designed to incorporate four respective amp models respectively per channel? That is, channel 1=Fender, 2=Vox, 3=Soldano, 4=5150... Further, if three switches on FM3 be designed as such like you demonstrated, then it will work seamlessly in changing scenes in a real world gigs, you see?...thanks!
Thanks for that very insightful video ! You make it look so easy ;-) I'm preparing a duo with my wife and was supposed to buy two AX8 when in the process, it was canceled and replaced by the FM3. My workshop with the AX8 reveal that, yes it has amazing potential (especially with the 8 scene mode), but I find that the clean sounds are not very dynamic ! Volume vs attack variation is not very refined. My question is.. Is the FM3 dynamic better than the AX8 for the clean sounds.. (A la Dire Straits).. ?
Thanks a great introduction to FM3 video. Looks like a good product, a headphone out would have been a great addition. Can the USB be used to play back music backings in mp3 or wav format? Thanks again to yourself an G66 folk.
I would like to have you preset and configuration it will be a good start for me to use the FM3 where can you download them on the g66 site? thank you and superb demonstration it's amazing what you can do with just three buttons good continuation.
How you can assign the double tap option to the FM3? the tap and hold options are clear... but I cant figure out how I can assign the double tap option... Any help is welcome thx
Hi, must say that I'm impressed with the quality of the FM3 at that cost and your presentation of the product. Have you ever thought of making a video combining a FM3 with an AXE III or an AXE II or all together :) like someone at the Fractal forum did for a year ago I think.
Hi, is it possible to send just the Delay and Reverb out of the SPDIF ? And the amp/cab out analog. I want to be able the record them separately. Thanks.
The Hold function, does it activate after a certain time frame or after holding it long enough, does it only become active after you release the switch? So for example you could hold a button for example 10 seconds plus but the effect will only activate after you remove your foot? I hope that makes sense lol cheers
tonally would you say it's better than your hx stomp? i own an hx stomp and am interested in getting one of these, but if there isnt much of a difference id prefer not to get one of course haha! new sub btw!
I hope this isn’t a stupid question, but I presume you are recording what you are playing direct from the FM3, so what is the sound playing through for you to hear and monitor it? Is it something like a powered speaker or something else? As a sort of beginner this stuff is confusing me.
Great video ! Not really convinced that 3 switches can replace the 11 of the AX8 though. If, like me, you need an immediate access to 5 scenes + 1 FX toggle + 1 volume boost, well, I'm not sure those 3 switches will do the job. In a live context, it's not really convenient. Sure, there is external footswitches, but it's ... additional cost. Not a really viable option to anyone.
The Final Version will have Headphone Jacks, there is a small Batch of Production that does not - some Users were invited to take them with a discount.
Great Video, very helpful. Great to know the sounds are the same Who makes that foot switch? didn't quite catch the name, like "other custom design"? but I know that's wrong
I wondered the same thing, tried with other, utter and landed with "otther custom design" ;-) www.ottercustomdesign.com/ Thought about picking it up but if you place it next to FM3 you'll block the air vent hole... so... they should've designed it with that in mind.
3 footswiches are restrictive in live settings. What if I have 5 scenes in a song and want to go to scene 1 to scene 5? Show me that in an easy way without having to do a tap dancing or being a sucker and buying a $500 FC-6. Think I may keep my Ax8 despite the brilliant FM3 sounds.
I am sure in a live situation youmake a big mess big that 3 footswiches configuration..... not possible ... and super imposible singing, the only way is more switches by midi or tc6
What you can do with 3 switches starts at 13:40
Thank you
This is what helped me make the decision to buy the fm3... thanks so much!

Do the glitches take place when switching on the FM3-Edit? Sounds like a bug that needs to be fixed ASAP.
Any delay in switching from preset to preset or scene ? My AX3 has no delay doing that.

@@AxeFxTutorials You are right, I had the editor connected
I cannot wait to get one of these units, I have an Axefx III and can't wait to have those great tones in something that fits in my gig bag
Exactly what I needed to know but nobody else explained. Thanks!
Thank you this is a great intro for this pedal. I just received it as a gift for gigging.

Thank you so much for the video! The way you explain how the three switches can be controlled answered all my doubts!
Great Video!!!!! Thanks for putting this together for all of us waiting patiently (well, maybe a little impatient here) ;-)
The existence of this unit brings great joy to me. 😃😍
Nice i just wanna know the three switch functions, and you explain was very nicely, thank you 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Nice video. Your English is great. Can’t wait to get the FM3. Prolly long waitlist
Die Sounds sind unfassbar gut.
Great demo, great player and great gear... but man, your faces while playing... epic.
One amazing tone after another. Can't wait!
Thank you! I have a far better understanding of the switches and their real world use now, cheers from Australia
gatgod77 another Aussie here. Did you notice the missing headphone jack on the back ??
Hi mate,Im in Melbourne,I didnt notice in the vid but I've been following on the Fractal forum,

Love the Ibanez MM! Beautiful guitar
Thanks for explaining the switches. 9 scenes is plenty for me.
amazing content
Simple and easy to understand. Thank you for the video.

This is awesome! I def have considered buying the fc6 as well, but now I see I won't probably need it! Thank you :)
Signal chain..? Thanks... Great video, can’t wait to get mine..! 👍😊🍺🍻🇺🇸
Great playing, great explanation. Can you please tell the setup required for practising with backing track. Without using computer.
I forgot fm3, lovely playing, i was hook to it
Your English is great... thank's for the info. oh... KILLER guitar work also...Is EVERYTHING.. the FM3? Or have other programs entered. VERY well done, nice info.
Great video, great playing, thank you!
Do more video of this product..thanks
good afternoon, which ibanez guitar model is used in this video? I liked the color very much ...
Thanks G66!!
I love it! Just one question. When you are changing presets or scenes.. do you get any delay/lag when you do it?
Great video! I wonder how you can move from your 9 options(scenes) to another 9 with other amps and configurations if you don’t have buttons for changing “banks” in a gig situation??? Thanks for the answer.
I was about to post the same question. Did you get any answer somewhere else ? Thanks
Thank you so so much! - Can you please explain how you recorded the sound? Was it by USB or XLR?
Great Video.

I would like to know if I can use more than one IR per rig? I usually use two IR, one more bright and another one with more bottom end.
Hey there . Cheers for the video . Do you know why the headphone jack port is missing on the back ?
The first batch don't have one but all the others next to it will have the headphone jack
tonally would you say it's better than your hx stomp? i own an hx stomp and am interested in getting one of these, but if there isnt much of a difference id prefer not to get one of course haha! new sub btw!

Frfr speaker or studio monitors
Great video !

Maybe. but if you add an FC6 you have a mucher better control than with the ax8. AND better sound.
Thanks for the demo, looking forward to seeing more. Quick question: could you share a link to that pedal with two additional buttons?
Hey Michiel, here is a link to where you can order the switch! www.ottercustomdesign.com/product-page/ocd-duo-for-fractal-audio-fc-6-fc-12-fm-3
great video !
Do you have any English videos for Axe FX III.? . I learned a ton about the AXEFXII from your videos years ago.....
Only german - but I recommend to you leon todd - check him out!
hi, where can i find the OCD switch please
I saw a picture of FM3 on G66 website of the waiting list for this machine and in the back it has headphone input is it correct?
The Final Version will have Headphone Jacks, there is a small Batch of Production that does not - some Users were invited to take them with a discount.
What model of Ibanez are you playing? The strat tone is nice with 2 humbuckers..
I believe it is the Ibanez AZ line, Premium model perhaps. www.ibanez.com/usa/products/model/az/
Oh I found it, he said "Otter Custom Design:, its the OCD Duo+ www.ottercustomdesign.com/product-page/ocd-duo-for-fractal-audio-fc-6-fc-12-fm-3
It is the Martin Miller Signature or MM1
Great Video, very helpful. Great to know the sounds are the same

I'm in love 🥰
hello, is it possible to download your preset configuration and how/where? anyone did?
thnx a lot
Great video. Could you share the preset?
+1, loved it!
Can you use a Voodoo labs ground control as a midi controller for this unit ?
You can use any Midi Controller. But check out the FC Series First, as it connects with FAS link and integrates perfectly
Okay okay, I get it
Lol. I think it’s cool that my M1 Mac Mini is so quietly powerful, but I don’t understand people that get all excited about the quiet level of fans.
Whats the footswitch?
Was wondering the same thing. It says OCD, and I thought he said Outer Custom Design, but can't find them on google.
Otter Custom Design, you will find them
Does anyone know if OCD ships to the USA?
I contacted them , they told me not yet

G66.eu
sure..$999 dollars in the US...but 1200-1300 Euro in Europe...#equality!
