I'm fed up with all these super excited, clickbait, and superficial guitar UA-camrs. That's why I'm here on Pete's channel to see a REAL guitar content. What I like the most is that he is acting as a normal people on camera. Natural and sincere UA-cam presentation, so refreshing. Pete Thorn is the angular stone on the UA-cam guitar community.
I’m shocked that amongst the guitar community UA-camrs that Pete doesn’t have way more subscribers. Maybe Rick Beato should have Pete on his channel? Pete deserves more subscribers than he has.
Pete always makes very direct and high quality content and doesn't play the typical UA-cam game. No clickbait. No ridiculous "experiment" videos trying ludicrous things. No "Top 10" list videos. No Patreon shenanigans. Heck, he hardly promotes his own music! Pete is not trying to entertain, he is teaching 100% of the time. I've benefited immensely as a guitar player by listening to Pete's insights over the years. I applaud him for his efforts and I think he should just keep making videos his way! Yeah, he should have at least 10x more subscribers, but sometimes I think the methods that create great content and the methods that get a lot of subscribers are at odds with each other.
Maybe it's selfish but I prefer Pete without a "Beato endorsement". If you take the time to transcribe Pete's snipets, you will learn a ton more than what Beato tries to teach on his chaotic lessons. I like Beato too, but they are two different beasts 😜
@@HeadbangoO I wasn't going to outright say it, but I agree. Rick is great, I really like "What Makes This Song Great" and his older videos about production. But Rick plays the UA-cam game now, and I don't like it.
My Beato comment was somewhat snarky in that Rhett Schull (who is great) has reached Pete’s level of subscribers pretty quickly and I think that is 100% attributable to Beato’s 1.5 million.
I stinkin' LOVE PETE THORN!!! The way he does these incredible original songs to show off what these amazing musical boxes can do, along with SUPERB PLAYING... We should be THANKFUL that Pete's around and gives us this much of his time and talent!! THANK YOU PETE FOR BEING AWESOME!!!!!!

Pete's "old strat" is the best sounding guitar ever. It always sound incredible and very special, with any piece of gear. Of course Pete's playing, production and creativity is unreal and inspiring
Wow... just... wow. Your skill at crafting great tones is exceeded only by your ability to put together great and catchy pieces of instrumental gold. Thanks, Pete.
Pete - I’ve been playing guitar for 50+ years and watching you here for more than a few of those. Honestly, I’m starting to think you’re one of the greatest all-around guitar players ever. Versatile, tasteful, technically and tonally immaculate. Plus the way your musical thinking and ideas have evolved into something really creative and original. It’s a beautiful thing man, and I really appreciate you sharing it. Go forth and show the world!
@@PeteThorn It's always the weekend if you want it to be! But as long as I've got you on the line, let me make a video suggestion: How about one about guitar setups? Frets, strings, action. Nobody ever talks about this, but if you pick up someone else's guitar it's always completely different from your own. My thing is to stretch new strings out until they're taut enough to snap back fast. Lots of people leave them loose enough that you can hear them slapping the neck, and they like that! In particular, I'd love to hear your take on this regarding ES style guitars. Your 335 seems to be set up in that sweet zone between acoustic action and something suitable to blues playing. You work pretty broadly between soft and hard playing and the guitars always sound great, so I assume you'd have something valuable to teach on this point. Cheers!
Dude so good. Loving parts 4 & 5, just wonderful stuff. This is like a mini Dream Theater jam from the old days. Great stuff my friend. Going back for listen #2.
Woofff, that's a great piece of gear for sure, but still you're the one, who sells it the most to me. You have such a fine taste in using all this geargoodies just the right way! If I wanna convince myself into purchasing a piece of desire, you're always my goto information spot. Great value in every aspect - I hope, they pay you well ;) thx for being awesome
You channeled all the Tom Hopkins, Twisted Metal series vibes in the end with that CCV metal/surfer solo tone and all those flat-2 chords. Seriously going to load up the Twisted Metal 2 and 3 soundtracks just because of this :D
Thanks for the Video Pete, I'm in the market for some type of Modeler and this was a great video demoing some of the tones available on the FM3. With less and less Guitar shops around and the current state of the world with the pandemic and everything closed, it's hard to get your hands on equipment to test it out. So I appreciate you doing this and similar videos/demos.
Great video Pete! I think it's great that Pete does such a great job demoing these pedals, especially this one...I recently got the FXIII and it's a beast! The client must be extremely happy (obviously) as Pete shows 'what can be done' with this unit, just purchase this unit and your set! Seriously, when medium human players like myself see this, I for one think, yeah, so this unit CAN make these tones in the right hands...so it is possible. So I'll try and get one! Great quick composition showing the possibilities this thing can create....along with a little help from Pete T.
fantastic as usual. thanks for the inspiration as always Pete. On a side note, I watched your Classic Rock Show tour videos. Tight band. You did great. Fantastic keyboard player. He's got a voice too.
I love my FM3, most fun I've had with guitar tones since I sold my Kemper. A really inspiring piece of kit. I wish had a little more CPU power, but honestly there's no tone that it can't already handle. And CPU limit actually makes you think smarter about how to set up your effects.
This is the perfect sounds demonstration video! Hitting all the stops, styles, techniques in a compact and sweet, well produced video. You're a hero pete 🤘
Fractal really has the nuance down with amp tones. They just seem to breathe a little bit more than the competitors. I've had an AX-8 for about 4 years and it is fantastic. I have one other digital solution that sounds good as well, but teh AX-8 is the one I use 90% of the time. Also, I need to complement Pete on the wide-ranging selection of tones. Most demo videos lean toward the metal tones, but Pete is covering all of the bases (and the basses!).
What a piece of kit. I love my Axe-Fx Ultra. It is a tone tool box, especially direct to board and when it isn't that it can be the best multi FX you could ever want.
A bit of advice to gear manufacturers- have Pete demo your gear! I have so many great items because I saw them here! BTW- killer Groomed Noodler tones here!
Beautiful, super creative! I hope these companies pay you well enough. You make me wanna buy every piece of gear you demo :) And I have bought several of them ...
Really digging these tones, Pete. Either Fractal has changed up some stuff or you’ve managed to do what I’ve felt impossible, which is dial out that weird, unnatural, chewy midrange I’ve heard in every Fractal user’s gain tones. Sometimes I wished I knew what went on in this brain when you’ve written some of those really more intricate riffs LOL!

Amazing as always Pete! And the unit sounds great! As I knew it would. But Fractal always seems to miss just a little on the functionality part.
