How To Animate A Bending Object Using A Curve Modifier - Part 1: Shape Keys

- A while back, I made a video on how to bend an object using the Curve Modifier. Someone asked how to animate such a bend and this is my response.
In this video I give a brief introduction about Shape Keys in Blender and their very basic usage. I then show how to bend an object using a curve modifier, in addition to using a shape key to create an animation of the object bending.
Is this a way to export an object animated by the curve modifier as fbx? Please help!
Excellent I've been searching for a solution to a 'simple' blender problem and your video is the only one I could find that explained it so clearly.
When I add the curve modifier, the mesh object disappeared.
is it possible to get shape keys from the object instead of the curve?? anyway I could accomplish that? IF NOT, then my question is...once the animation is done, can i make shape keys out of the frames? (maybe it is a silly question but I need to have shape keys instead of the frames for what I am doing...) Thank you for any replies.
Answered ALL of my questions, and some! Many many thanks.
Unbelievably helpful video, thanks!
This has to be one of the most well put together tutorials I’ve ever seen
Can I remove geometry with shapekeys? Like if I want to show what is inside a box, by deleting half of it?
I don't believe so. I know that you can keyframe the visibility and renderabilty settings (icons at the far right) for any object in the Outliner, so try that.
thanks
.... for such a nice video...
