I can't believe that I've never seen this channel before. You've articulated the game so that the rules are easily understood. Great content. Subscribed.
Thanks man, that’s awesome feedback - thanks for the support, it’s much appreciated. The channel has only been going a couple of weeks, so there will be more content on the way 👍👍
Wow, great job with the playthrough! You made it so easy to follow, makes one feel like they could play that game themselves no problem!
Great, thanks for that positive feedback, it’s much appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the report … more people need to get on this 😊
Cheers dude, yea it’s a great game - still more depth to it than I managed to show here, but appreciate the comment 😊
Thanks for this video, it's a great help for someone new to Black Powder collection ACW
Thanks for the comment and glad the battle report was helpful. I’ve got some more content planned soon. 👍🏻
Beautiful table and minis! Loved the battle report!
Thanks for the support Dan, much appreciated 👍
Loved the video hope to see more.
Awesome, thanks for the support, much appreciated

Great, thanks for the feedback and the support, it’s much appreciated 👍🏻
Great job! I love this channel its so helpful to learning the rules.
Thanks that’s great feedback. Appreciate the support 👍🏻👍🏻
love your videos
Cheers 👍👍
Excellent stuff !!!!!!!!
Thanks and appreciate the support 👍🏻
Thank you, this sized game is a sweet spot for my set up.
Great, yes it works really well on a 4x4 area - still has the feel of a large battle - thanks for commenting 👍
thank you
Thanks for the support 👍🏻
Enjoyable game to watch, you make playing solo like is it very easy to do. The only thing that I would add will be more table space for tactical movements around the flack and such. Great Job, keep them coming.
Thanks for the support Alejandro, it’s much appreciated. I mention on one of my other videos that I’ll be “upscaling” my next battle report to a 6x4 table, as I have probably reached the limit of army size for 4 x 4 games, albeit it does show you can get a good size and fun game at this scale on a 4 x 4 table 👍🏻👍🏻
Great battle reports, this is the second one I’ve watched. I’ve played many games now and love the system. You do it great justice.
One small comment, only horse artillery get the free unlimber move. We made this mistake originally and have corrected since.
Look forward to your next one.
Cheers Richard and thanks for the support, it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 good shout on the unlimbering, i have changed recently since getting hold of the Glory Hallelujah supplement as the epic rules state you can move and unlimber on page 12 under Firefights and that’s not specific to Horse Artillery but it does state horse in GH, so I’m guessing it was a misprint and will go with that for future 👍🏻
Great battle report! Lovely looking armies
Cheers and thanks for the support, it’s much appreciated 👍👍
Great play-through and good job painting all those minis (I've not yet mustered the motivation to paint mine). I personally found the change from inches to centimeters to make the proximity of units distracting. I think I'll stick with inches so the units aren't quite so on top of each other visually. I also raised an eyebrow at how exposed - and often in the front - the artillery units were. That aside, loved the video and I hope to see more!
Thanks for the comments Aric and I think that’s one of the great things about Black Powder games, in that you can adapt to your set up and preferences 👍. The artillery point is an interesting one, as they’re definitely more vulnerable to assault when I’m playing Napoleonic battles, but with the ACW rule about requiring a command roll to charge and -2 modifier if attacking to the front, it makes it quite difficult to get at them! Whether that’s historically accurate is debatable 😂
Great game.I hope to see more soon.
Cheers, yes I’m working on the next one, so should be up very soon 👍🏻 thanks for the support 👏
Gents, well done
Cheers, much appreciated 👍👍
Enjoyably game 👍🎲 more please 👏
Thanks for the support, it is much appreciated - don’t forget to subscribe - hopefully have the next battle report up in the next week 👍🏻
Just watched this through and very good battle report - Figures look great too - hope you make more of these as a great watch - some interesting additional rules for the ACW that sound promising (whipped, moving through units etc) - I am toying with the idea of ACW epic and like the scale and set up of the warlord stuff as easy to get onto a relatively small table - is this effectively the Gettysburg starter set you've got on the table?
Hi there and firstly thanks for the supportive comments, much appreciated. I’m really enjoying playing at this scale, as been mainly playing 28mm for years and wanted to get into ACW. I got the original starter set over a year ago from the initial release, but I think the Gettysburg one is similar, albeit probably better as you get more variety in terms of units - both are good VFM in my opinion (and I have no ties to Warlord!). I’ve still got about 8 Regiments to do from the starter set I got, but have purchased some of the mixed brigade boxes, so I’ve got some cavalry, Zouaves and skirmishers on the painting table hopefully ready soon to record the next battle report. Hope that helps and best of luck
Enjoying the video's so far and great collection too!
Will you be playing games with other players at all?
Cheers Wolf 👍🏻 Hopefully at some point - there’s not a huge pool of local black powder gamers where I am, so not easy to sort schedules for filming
@@Roll-Some-Dice if you're local to me (Somerset) I'll happily play against you.
Turn 6 just shows how much Black Powder relies on the luck of the dice!
Hey Eddie, indeed! 👍🏻
Easy mistake to make but General Tallioferro's name is actually pronounce Tolliver.
Ha…that will be me taking it phonetically. Thanks for the correction 👍🏻
Nice batrep. I enjoy Blackpowder for other periods but it's failure to represent mixed Reb batteries let's it down for ACW
Thanks for the support Eddie 👍🏻 much appreciated
the Confederate battle flags should have a gold fringed boarder
👍🏻
Just curious as to what size your large command bases are? I'll be getting the Gettysburg battle set here soon and want to use larger bases like you did for my Corps/Division commanders.
Hi there, yea I discuss this in the other video I’ve posted - I use 60mm for the Commander in Chief and then I’ve got some 40mm for the Divisional Commanders, albeit not in the battle report - hope that helps
What road and river tiles do you use here? Haven’t seen them before.
Hi there, see attached from Warlord Games website - it’s part of their epic scenery range - road or rivers store.warlordgames.com/products/black-powder-epic-battles-roads-scenery-pack?_pos=1&_sid=615087335&_ss=r
Hope that helps
@@Roll-Some-Dice thanks a lot, have no idea how I missed out on those!
Would love to see a batrep with no dice rolling.
Hi Richard, probably unlikely for the time being, as it’s the style of batrep I’m aiming to produce, but appreciate you taking the time to provide some feedback.
@@Roll-Some-Dice I like seeing the dice rolling and the explanation of modifiers in battle reports.
It's difficult for me to accept the art. in the river being able to fire.
Oh dear…
I enjoy the playthrough a lot - but oh my, it buggers me that the artillery is leading the attack. There's something terribly wrong with that in a historical context of the period of black powder. That appears to be a huge flaw in the game rules.
Thanks for the feedback Anders. I’ve found that you can be quite flexible with BP rules, so you can always add you’re own level of historical context in terms of how you use and deploy units if that’s what you enjoy in a game. Appreciate the support 👍🏻👍🏻
So in this game the Confederate and Union troops are basically identical in quality, and the only real difference is what color they're painted?
Hi there. This is scenario 1 from the supplement you get with the starter set, so it’s fairly even in terms of both sides apart from the Union having a slight advantage on artillery. The Epic miniatures range has been expanded, so there’s Cavalry, Zouaves and Skirmisher sprues out now, which I’m working through, so that will give games more flavour. There’s other unit rules as well that adds further dimension to it which wasn’t used in this battle report. Hope that helps 👍🏻
@@Roll-Some-Dice Thanks for the response. It was a well done report with good-looking figures and table.
