We played some games when it first came out and enjoyed them. putting the ships together and painting them was a different matter! We need to get some games in again.

Heya RSD, great vid! I am definitely gonna dip my toes into Epic ACW soon because of video series like yours. I was going to ask about free moves for some of those obstinantly stationary regiments, but I realized after rereading the rules that since they were in line compared to column that they couldnt. Anyway, keep up the great Epic content!

I liked that you showed every roll. Also, color-coded dice clarified who was who and which side was rolling.

Dude your battle reports are incredible ! I have always toyed with the idea of getting into wargaming and over the past few years, black powder epic scale has been what I wanted to do. I got a battle in a box set and painted a few union and confederate regiments before falling away from it. I was on Holiday last week and found your videos and in the 4 days I've been back I have 8 regiments of each good to go along with brigade commanders. Artillery and terrain will be next and planning a game for Tuesday. All thanks to your videos ! Keep up the good work and thanks for the inspiration ! Well done mate !

Nice battle report.

Only difference we use is NOT halving command ranges. Because the unit frontage and base sizes remain the same, we found that halved command ranges really skewed towards more units getting penalties to command. Didn't suit the feel of ADCs running around to nearby units giving orders.

Nice one. I particularly like the 'seen the elephant dynamic'. I think Cornwell describes it well in his Civil War novels when he explains that the war was like the wonder of an elephant - when you hadn't seen it, it was an exotic exciting mystery; once you had seen one, you knew the score. Great video mate.

Sweet setup and terrain. I bought the Civil war starter box back when they released the Epic Scale (the initial first Starter Set box). Have not played a single game yet though. Its a sub from me.

Great and very useful video! A question: You don't follow the exact deployment suggestions from the booklet. For instance, for the Union first brigade they suggested 3 regiments of infantry. Is there a special reason for that? Thanks. Paolo

The ranges you mention sounds more like a 28mm game instead of an Epic scale game, which is why halving the ranges works so well.

I like your idea of having ranges. I still haven't played a game of Warlord's ACW but when I do, I think I'll follow your lead on the ranges. I look forward to seeing your other "epic" videos.
