My apologies for my heart not being in it this week. It had nothing to do with the song at all. I cut a lot of talking out of this one--just me trying to figure out why I was struggling to make this video. I saved some of it for the end, especially all the times I was distracted by my mic. I can't understand why but Skeptic really calls to me out of every song on the album. Probably because of how upfront and direct it is in the grieving, anguish, and sadness. Especially Clown's keg strikes during the instrumental break, I felt like I could feel the emotion in those strikes more than any other on the album. It really is a special song.
I always thought this song was cool but I lost my best friend last year and that made the lyrics in this song curb-stomp my emotions every time I hear it. He and I went to our first Slipknot concert together and I will forever be happy to have shared that with him. Love the reactions and hope you’re doing well!
Knowing this is supposed to be a tribute to Paul, honestly this song has its ups and downs, my guess is the new album will have a more fitting tribute for both Paul and Joey

I was so pleasantly surprised with this album back than. All the choruses of each song are very catchy yet the vibe stays nice and heavy.
This is one of songs I track down every reaction. You can actually hear all 9 contribute to this song, great production. This will be played at funerals in the very near future, ifKnot now.
Shawn did say, he saw a side of Corey. Like he's never seen him in their new album.

This is definitely a grower. I also don't feel it's a highlight on the record either, like when I listen to .5 I'm not like "oh man can't wait for Skeptic" it's more like once you get to Skeptic on the tracklist, the emotion is "oh fuck yeah Skeptic" and then you move onto Lech.
Lot's of cool sounds going on here, and throughout the entire record, something I feel like was a little lacking on WANYK, hoping for more cool Sid and pinhead ideas on album 7. Especially on the vocals, love all the weird processing on Corey's voice during that breakdown

Skeptic is also a song by Chevelle off their first album Point #1. It's a pretty raw album by comparison but still a cool song.

This isn't favorite Slipknot song either, like it doesn't grab me like other songs so I understand where you're coming from. I think I'm just not a fan of it musically, love the lyrics though. When I read the description about your heart not being in it today I immediately thought of "my heart is just too dark to care" 😅🤘

Honestly, on this album there aren't too many songs that grab me musically on the track list starting with Killpop all the way up to Custer. Then Custer comes up and cuts, cuts, cuts me up. They are all great lyrically though. It's too bad because the album starts off very strong. After that, the rest of the album is pretty "meh" to me other than The Negative One. I need to give the whole thing another listen and maybe I'll change my mind, but hearing "Skeptic" along with you didn't make me more of a fan. Anyway, I hope you get to rest up, fix your mic, and give yourself a well-deserved break. See ya on the next vid.
