This song is about their bassist Paul Gray who died in 2010. This whole album, “.5 the Gray chapter” is a tribute to him. That hollow metal sound you were hearing was a beer keg being hit.

The song was a tribute to Paul Gray, one of the founding members and the bassist for slipknot. The album was actually named after him and the whole album was made as a tribute to him after his death
