    Selim sir do i have to make individual Reverb fx for each track or only 1 FX reverb for all instruments in same reverb?... If yes hall or room?
    Sir i am stuck help me and i want to know something like how whd be the Reverb set for hard Panned right or hard Panned left channel Audio? Hellppppppp

    • @mixdownonline
      @mixdownonline  3 роки тому +1

      No, you can use a Reverb for several tracks, you can also have a Reverb per instrument groups, it depends on the song you're mixing. Same for the type of reverb, it depends on what you're mixing and in what space you want to have around your instrument. I didn't understand the second part of your question.

    It would have been good to show accessing the Input Gain control on the Channel's Input section.
    Also, how about pre vs post fader metering? Apparently logic and Pro Tools has this. Cubase does too, but it sure would be nice to be able to see both at the same time.

    • @mixdownonline
      @mixdownonline  3 роки тому

      Hey Clay, yes, PT has pre vs post fader metering but not Cubase. What Cubase has far as Metering Options are: Input - Post Fader and Post Panner but no Pre-Fader Metering. Input will give you the metering reading of the Input Signal only without going into the plugins.Unless I'm missing something here, and that can happen ;-) I'll be honest with you, I never had the need of using Pre Fader metering.

      @@lahattec Thanks for sharing the article :-) It helps me to understand why you asked me this question. For me, not a big deal since don't gain stage at -6dbfs like he does, but between -18 to -12 dbfs to give me headroom and avoid clipping my plugins and channels. So for me, pre fader metering is a none issue :-)

    Hi, really interesting video. I am trying to master a song in Cubase 11 (Elements). I am a bit confused by the way you master here - I thought for mastering, you just use the Stereo Output channel, but it looks like you've exported the mix first and then added it to a normal track in Cubase to master it that way. Why do you do it like that? Won't you lose quality, since you're exporting twice (what bitrate etc do you export the mix as before mastering btw?).
    I've been trying to master my song by adding a compressor, Maximizer and Brickwall Limiter to the Stereo Output channel, and I was wondering how many Post Fader Inserts the Stereo Output channel has? It seems to only have 2 by default - is there a way to change this? I need 4 because I need to add Youlean Loudness Meter after the Maximizer and Brickwall Limiter. Thanks.

    Not related but I'm suspecting that I might have a similar issue. When using voxengo span to check how loud my master is it always falls short of the commercial master level of around -30db on the visualizer mine peaks at around -36 any louder and it distorts. Why is this?

  • @LondonSteveLee
    @LondonSteveLee 3 роки тому +1

    After spending ages tweaking the compression etc - why would you want to change input gain into the compressor/limiter? This will change the sound. Why not automate the master gain instead? The glue of the track will stay intact and achive the aim you're lookig for.

    • @mixdownonline
      @mixdownonline  3 роки тому

      Actually, like I shared on my other video, balancing the Dynamics with Gain Control (if needed) is always done before using a Compressor for the reasons you mentioned above. However, I work my Limiter before anything else, even Gain Control Automation cause I always re-visit my Limiter before bouncing the Master. Automating the Master Gain (Channel Fader I assume?) so after your channel's Limiter, will mess up the loudness LUFS balance of your master. If you need to adjust the Volume Fader after Compression, then use your Limiter Post Fader. Hope that helps :-)

      Because the input gain is the enemy and friend..
      Straight answer.. :)

    • @frankymino8773
      @frankymino8773 3 роки тому

      I was thinking that too. Been doing it for years. I hardly ever touch the input gain on tracks and most definitely never automate input gains. The only post I ever use on the master buss would be meters and dither.
