    Spent 40 years in a chemical plant. We use nickel anti sieze on just about every nut and bolt we touch. Great stuff.

    Very informative videos! I've watched several in the past few days. I ordered all the parts necessary to do a complete overhaul of my Toro snowblower once spring arrives here in NJ. It's actually in very good condition but I want to keep it that way. Thanks for taking the time to post your videos.

    Awesome video and it's part of my annual greasing regiment, I also put red grease on my metal gear too my snowblower is 26 years old. I believe that nothing has ever broken or wore out from being greased and or oiled. I do my own maintenance on all of my power equipment I need them to preform at there best at all times. Thanks again for your experience and sharing your knowledge.

    I bought a used Craftsman 5/22 snowblower. I am doing a lot of maintenance and adjustments on it. Today I decided to check the lubrication of the drive axles. I thank whoever owned the snowblower before me: the wheels came of easily the axles had previously been lubricated! I lucked out!

    Are usually on those drive axles I use to use grease and I use it every year I’ve only skipped it once and I still was able to get it off but still it’s good idea to use any series

    Hi there, thank you so much for your videos! I was wondering if you could answer a question about the PERMATEX. I noticed that you were using the "NICKEL" PERMATEX. What is the difference between say the NICKEL, the SILVER or just the regular PERMATEX???
    I was going to use the Silver Grade PERMATEX but noticed that you mentioned the NICKEL PERMATEX many times. Is the NICKEL better for colder winters? Just not sure which one is the best to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you

      I don't think it really matters, I've seen people use copper antiseize, and Permatex is just the brand name!

      I read the PERMATEX data sheet for their Nickel Anti-Seize product when I was trying to decide what kind of anti-seize would be best for my snowblower. The data sheet says this product handles more extreme temperatures than the other ones in their anti-seize series, -54°C to 1316°C. That’s 65° below zero in Fahrenheit degrees. Only the minimum temperature matters for a snowblower. This property makes the product rather expensive but your snowblower should be fine anywhere except Antarctica.

    Would your viper heat induction tool loosen that rear drive axel? I understand it can be tough to aim a torch in tight spaces. I hate to loose or increase the cost when trying to accomplish a task!!! Thanks.

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  3 роки тому

      Yes, and in theory it would work to heat up the inside while the wheel is seized to the axle using the bearing buddy coil. I ended up having to use heat and a hammer on the one in the video I link below as it was really seized bad.

    Great video, it’s better to put money into these older machines. Then buy the garbage they sell now at the big box stores! Nice job!
    If people would just grease things, man would stuff last so much longer!!

    Where are you finding your Craftsman parts I’m having trouble with that

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  2 роки тому

      In Canada craftsman went bankrupt under sears Canada, so MTD purchased the rights. MTD only sells some Craftsman parts though, the other parts will be AYP or Murray parts which are now Briggs and Stratton owned. I'm a dealer for both MTD and Briggs, so I source parts directly through them. Sometimes I have 2 orders with 2 different companies to fix one machine, it happens from time to time.

      I have the tracked version of this in Qc. My bushings are gone and the axle slides left and right causing no contact with the gears. What’s the part number for those bushings? Thank you

    Great video. Question for you. I have a new st224 husqvarna snow blower. 3rd time used I noticed a squeaking noise when rolling the wheels. Drives fine when running and will roll when off but is loud now when the wheels turn. Any thoughts of why this might be? If I raise the front up and wheels don’t move squeaks the same. Very loud.

    If any viewers have chipmunks in their area and have a blower with the plastic drive gear check the bottom drive area before us. Those chipmunks get in there, store walnuts which get caught in the gear when put in drive and rip the teeth right off.

    LOL, B&S OUTRAGEOUS prices on parts just about makes it cost prohibitive to repair older stuff UNLESS you love and realize the older stuff is FAR superious.
