- We head to Fish and Co at Waterway Point in Singapore, They have a menu item called "Best Fish and Chips". That is a big claim, so we go in to see what their fish and chips tastes like.... somehow i get a feeling this will not turn out well for them.

Singaporean here with unpopular opinion:I actually liked the fish and chips served here,with the sauce being savoury and flavourful and portions being large(so much so I struggled to finish the fish and chips).They offer a student deal where you can get a fish and chips and a drink for $9.90 and that is something I always go for.I dont really like the English and aussie style fish and chips and prefer this type but then again that's personal preference
Except British and aussie is the real deal not this

They should be Chunky Chips not fries , and the batter should be dry and Crispy with a good ratio of white quality fish usually Cod! UK
In Australia (Western side anyway) we always get Snapper as the usual fish not Cod!

They closed my favourite fish and chips shop here in Penticton BC, Canada...Joey's Only. They had awesome haddock and piles of chips... 9.99 per person before 3pm. I miss it. Hey Greggo. You should try fish and chips at D BLOKK on the island of Camotes in town of Poro. Shop is next to the Tourist Information Office . Beautiful pieces of local fish with chips which are processed string chips. Need to eat outside bro. Ate there in March this year with gf n her papa. Soo good n have views of the sea there

I had it once in toppen the Batter they used is the same like goreng pisang (deep fried banana) and super oily.... The fish is like those cheep fish which you can get it in the frozen section in the supermarket.... A lot of restaurants uses cheep fish in Malaysia but with different batter for it..... So it's not as good...
I think fish and chips always tastes good if it's deep fried but in some restaurants and cafe's it's mediocre. I'm not a big fan of tartar sauce but I will usually eat it if it comes as part of the meal. It's usually not bad if you get extra chips or onion rings as a side order.

The fish looked fantastic, but those looked like Burger King fries, which have no place in a fish and chips imo. “Proper” fish and chips in Britain usually come with much chunkier, softer chips that are delicious in their own right. I’m usually very much against authenticity snobbery, but if you’re going to claim to be the best in the world you have to get it right
(P.S the no seasoning is actually quite normal too I find. I think the idea is that with all the salt, vinegar and sauce you’re supposed to slather on the top, any seasoning would go unappreciated)
Certain people like their fish and chips oily, and different from the orginal. It does taste good to certain people, so how can someone critic any food at all, when others like it . This is something I don't understand in food competitions until today.

That's some of the worst place to get your fish and chips, frozen dory fish fillet, commercial tub of tartar sauce that taste sweet and nasty. Reminds me of the other place that's just as bad in Singapore, manhatten fish market... I think the latter is worse.
