Cool video man! Nicely put together! While not all former NYC Geeps, I'm currently in the process of seeing and shooting all 20 of NJ Transit's GP40PH-2B's (4200-4219). Still looking for #'s 4200, 4212 & 4218.
8:38,,,,,,,you missed a small point of interest. I am old enough to remember this event too! Look at 4032,,,notice something? That "4" looks odd. It should. That is a ATSF number "4". From 1978-1980 ATSF did a long term lease on some NW and Chessie locos. The lead number 3 or 4 was changed to a 9. When off lease,,,the ATSF changed the number back to the original number,,,hence the odd 4. I sure miss those BO/CO blue locos.
Great video!Your videos are always very well done!I know that Maybe Someone else has already done the FL9. But Your presentation and all the pictures that you Include so rare and interesting it will be really cool To see your video on the FL9. Even though he was just an east coast north east coast regional Situation. It is a very interesting Locomotive! Great videos! I always look forward to the new ones! Cheers
Thank you. Although I don't have any plans of covering an FL9, I think NY Railfan 202 did an episode of that locomotive for Engines of Metro North. In the meantime, I made a video of Tri Rails only FP7, number 904, and of the five E8s which Metro North leased in 1984.
nothing about 4219? Former Louisville & Nashville GP40 3026, former CSX 6822, and former NJT GP40PH-2A 4148 before being destroyed in the 1996 Secaucus Collision and was rebuilt by Conrail into a -2B and renumbered 4219 to match the other Conrail rebuilds. My favorite NJT GP40 story.
@@GreenbeanProductions Some of the best known were the “Jersey Builders”. CNJ GP40Ps would pull ex-Great Northern coaches, often in a mix of Empire Builder and Big Sky Blue. I believe there were even BN Cascade Green coaches in the mix too.
The GP40's are amazing units and happy to see them still running.
Crew: the cab car is broken dangit
Njt 4109: "It's showtime"

Nice! Best of luck in railfanning!
4207 is the oldest loco on the NJT roster, pretty cool
It should lead a retirement run with 4109 if NJT ever decides to retire their Geeps

7:55 most likely a former Conrail GP40 that was renumbered by NS after the Conrail buyout.
2:25 if you turn that number (3678) into 3677, you might just end up with NJT 4109 as mentioned earlier!
Very good enjoyed some have

amazing video :D
Me: knows that the PRR and New York Central where rivals
0:41 me: *BRAIN DOES NOT FUNCTION WITH PRR ENGINE AND NYC COACHES AND PRE COACHES*
NJDOT got basically any leftover rainbow era coaches from Amtrak, BN, Conrail, etc.
@@Pensyfan19 oh hehe I forgot about that.....thanks for the reminder

Ok I didn’t knew that
2:41 Wtah is that
The GP40FH-2 has the cab of a GP40, and the cowling of an F45.
Oh okay
