Unbuilt: GE UPDATE: The Millenium Machine (And How NYC 3001's Restoration Led Me There)

- After slight disappointment from a false assumption regarding the Mowhawk restoration announcement, I was reminded of a unique locomotive from General Electric that I forgot to include in the latest episode of Unbuilt. This is the Millennium Machine: a dual engine control cab railcar that was proposed to pull the 21st Century Limited excursion along with C&O 614 and NYC 3001. Its proposal is so unorthodox that making a community post about this mighty engine simply wouldn't do it justice, so I figure I might as well cover its segment now as if it were included in the original episode of Unbuilt.

Bro getting ratioed resulted in needing to issue a video update 😆
I am glad to hear the restoration news about NYC locomotive 3001, the 3001 is one of a few preserved NYC steam locomotives and I would really like to see a NYC steam engine return to operation again after 65+ years.
I'm glad to see that we already have episode 3 of Unbuilt! Now, in addition to all the great and odd proposed GE locomotives mentioned in the last episode, I've learned of two more unbuilt GE locomotives: the "Millennium Machine" for an excursion run that never happened, and a locomotive called the "AC7100CW" (which, to my knowledge, was never built either). Both of these would have been _behemoths_ of railroad equipment!
Also, I'm glad to see NYC 3001 restored. Lastly, you took that comment about "elephant ears" quite well!
Thanks for sharing these!
New Hudson may happen eventually. But as a New York Central fan I am excited for 3001 to be restored. Especially since it's not far from my home town.
Amazing what one dose of good news can lead to.
Looks like a standard gauge version of the Supertrain!
