Video: _____ Guide Entire video: Here are a bunch of combos we wont tell you how to do that will do nothing for your mastery of a character other than doing a combo.
I have been looking for a guide on Anji (specifically the playstyle and normals) now that I am picking him up in Patch 3. This guide is so packed with information and still seems very relevant. Thanks for the great work!
Bought Strive two days ago and Anji so far just looks the most interesting too me. This video was really helpful not only to understand what Anji does but to get an general understanding of certain situations that occur in this game. Keep up the good work!
Recently brought Strive and a couple of other fighting games after going to arcade and getting hit by the community fighting games has. FGs has always been a "bad to play, fun to watch" thing for me but there is always that space of interest when it comes to fighting games to me. Tried out some characters via mission mode and Anji is really interesting to me, especially his moveset and tools. And YES, i downloaded the Fanservice mod for Anji and it make learning with him 100x better
So I was thinking last week that all anji needs is a few tweaks to his specials and he'll be mid tier from low. This explanation of normals has made me reconsider because they are actually quite good with a few notable exceptions(f.s). He's definitely being held back by his weaknesses, but any reckless buff will make him crazy.
I'd agree with that assessment. He only needs a few tweaks and he can easily be made high tier to be honest. I will say this though. His overhead has no business being a negative as it is. If you can mash out of it it should be plus on block. If it can result in a full combo punish it should be faster.
best fucking guide ever, this guy isn't an idiot. this video actually shows you the process and gives u the terms and its funny what more could you ask for
Great guide man, you got my sub. I started playing Anji in GG XX Accent Core +R because she seemed like an easy character to learn gameplaywise, and I ended up liking him a lot. I couldn't figure out his cool combo routes and conversions in strive, so I thought he was kind of shallow and a bit weak, but some of the examples that you used during the guide have made me realise he is a really interesting character worth spending time in. I look forward to the second part of the guide!
Awesome guide, looking forward to the rest. I've been having a ton of fun playing Anji but the highest I've gotten is floor 8. Really start to struggle against better players that know how to exploit Fuujin. I'm committed to taking the boy all the way up to celestial!
I tried playing Anji so I can only imagine how hard it is to get to celestial. I finally just got my Gio to Celestial last night so I'm thinking about giving him another try since I'm very confident in my Gio now
@@thedemonyooshii5270 I made it vip with anji and I will say if you wanna do it, do it for fun. He has alot of tools and while they seem to be good when applied with the rest of the cast tools they just do not measure up. He is an outright incomplete character
Thank you for this lol. Lancer with fans is the only core cast member that clicked with me, but it can be a struggle sometimes and this guide is already giving me ideas on how to address some of my weak points.
Nice, was waiting for this ever since you mentioned making one on twitter. Have only been able to put like 8 hours into strive so far but was really loving Anji
This is great dude! Amazing tutorial and thoughts on anji! The only thing Id say is to put time stamps for each part in the description. I personally like to keep referencing certain parts of character tutorials when learning a char and scrubbing every time to get to the part I need is always a pain.
A lot of great info and input, thanks. Very easy to follow and covers the important stuff. I was really underestimating cl.S it seems. I'm having problems with the air combos after ch.D though: When trying to replicate them, something different happens nearly every time. Sometimes I get the combo, sometimes it whiffs halfway through, sometimes it misses the finisher driving the opponent into the ground because the opponent floats away too far. Sometimes the screen seems to end much sooner. Is the timing just that finicky? Do you need to use character specific air combos? What's Anji's highest damage air combo after ch.D and is there a universal one so you don't have to memorize one for each character? Looking forward to the next video!
05:18 i recently experimented with cS 2D. You didn't mention that Gatling option here. I think it's a pretty interesting gatlings since you get Kou combos if the cS hits and if the 2D hits you can do fujin k. While cS and 2S is good for easier confirms and more options with 5H I feel that the reward you get from cS 2D is always better. Maybe not in terms of damage, but in terms of oki situation and potentially meter usage
yeah cS to 2D is actually what Domi does because the cS,5H,Fuujin combo route tends to reset neutral if it's not in the corner. You have a very good point in that regard. I can talk about that more in the future, but for pressure, I really do like the other routes better, especially in corners.
Glad to hear it. I want to make beginnger/intermediate guides on how to deal with different characters on a universal level, so I'm waiting for the first balance patch to drop (just so the information won't be immediately dated).
Think you could've did a little bit more on 5K. Yes It's a good poke, Yes you can chain it to 6H. Buuuutttt 5K also can be link to jump for suprisingly good pressure 5K is probably his best normal give that you can somewhat go on offensive
yeah 5K is quite good overall and could've delved in more on its jump cancel properties, but Anji's air pressure is just mostly alright. Definitely useful when combined with shitsu however.
I know this sounds stupid and also you shouldn't rely on it because slash is a proximity move but cS can also be used as an anti air attack as well, but don't rely on it for that due to proximity attacks, ie the opponent can dash in and try and attack you and you think they are close enough but you get fS instead
Absolutely, cS is a great anti-air actually with very good rewards, but it's proximity nature makes it mostly good when people commited to being over with a double jump so you don't have to fear the air dash.
I'll consider doing it if I find really good people and if I can remain objective to not just upload videos of me doing well hahaha. I do sometimes stream though at twitch.tv/gcyoshi13. You can just scrap up some archives and silly shenanigans there.
I have one request Can you use Dragon Road from Sonic Unleashed for the background ost of the next part. Specifically the Night version. I have no specific reason for this request other than I just think its neat
I like that you talk about their playstyle rather than just making it a combo video like a lot of creators. Good stuff.
Video: _____ Guide
Entire video: Here are a bunch of combos we wont tell you how to do that will do nothing for your mastery of a character other than doing a combo.
Truly grateful for this guide, thought fujin was the only thing to him.
This is a rather dense guide, but it’s a good one. Packed with good advice, but it’s gonna take some time to digest…
I’m hungry now.

I appreciate this more than other guides I’d find off Dustloop. Has more personality, short, sweet, and to the point. Kudos.

jack of all trades? nah my man is jacked of all trades
That thumbnail gave me life

Keep up the push. I've made it to celestial 3 times with anji. Never stayed long but it can be done.
I tried playing Anji so I can only imagine how hard it is to get to celestial. I finally just got my Gio to Celestial last night so I'm thinking about giving him another try since I'm very confident in my Gio now

Thank you for explaning the part about landing lag, id dash in with jHS and get mixed results confused as hell. appreciate the knowledge
This guide was actually super helpful. Thank you!

Oh shiiiiit Nobutoshi Canna is the VA for JP Anji. That's Godlike!
Looking forward to the rest of the guide, I haven't used much of the frametraps he has so I'll try to implement that on my gameplay. Thanks!
Nice, was waiting for this ever since you mentioned making one on twitter. Have only been able to put like 8 hours into strive so far but was really loving Anji
Nice video. I was a bedman player in xrd/Rev as well. I am playing Anji in strive. Looking forward more videos. Cheers
God bless this breakdown.
Sent this to my brother, also a fellow Bedman who plays Anji. :)
This is great dude! Amazing tutorial and thoughts on anji!
The only thing Id say is to put time stamps for each part in the description.

Good point. I'll try to set that up!

Great guide, one small point, I'm pretty sure P > 6h on block is mashable and is only a proper frame trap on hit.
learning to play anji's borderline insane air game was the key for me. in the air hes fast and very hard to punish but on the ground.... well...
Really, really appreciate this guide, thanks so much
great guide, thank you
Thanks for this! I've been wanting a good guide and I have been blessed.
Great video! Anji is so fun to play
finally its up!! good job!
so much better than other guides made by biased old Anji mains complaining about what he doesn't have and ignoring what he does, good shit
yo.As a Fellow Anji main, this is high key really really good. Especially if youre new to him. Well done!🔥🔥🔥
nice talk style, thx vor vid!
yo this guide was super helpful for me just getting into strive, will you be doing any more guides?
Glad to hear it. I want to make beginnger/intermediate guides on how to deal with different characters on a universal level, so I'm waiting for the first balance patch to drop (just so the information won't be immediately dated).
And I'm waiting for the fuujin vid, hoping buffs along the way to whiff follow ups
Thank you so much for this!
Thank you! (Suggestion, add your PayPal or cash app info in either the vid or bio so those most appreciative can send you some thing)
Think you could've did a little bit more on 5K.

Yeah I really need to get better at throwing, I have done 1 air throw in all of my time playing till now lol.
2:08 FINALLY someone said it
Anji's pressure is actually pretty similar to May's. Interesting
Awesome job dude.
Good stuff man, keep it up!
what song is that in the background?
(also, great guide, really helped me understand his pressure, thanks)
Video description has music names.

pls make video about easy combo for begginer. one for centre , one for corner, one for roman cancel etc
yeah. It'd be a good video after Part 2.
Would love to see some of your matches! Any interest in uploading any?
I'll consider doing it if I find really good people and if I can remain objective to not just upload videos of me doing well hahaha.
I do sometimes stream though at twitch.tv/gcyoshi13. You can just scrap up some archives and silly shenanigans there.
Thanks for this, Do you know when next part will be out?
it's like about 70% finished so maybe like a week at most.
I have one request
Can you use Dragon Road from Sonic Unleashed for the background ost of the next part. Specifically the Night version. I have no specific reason for this request other than I just think its neat
Hm I'll consider it.
Part 2 when!?
I'm trying for end of this week but, but despite a lot of it being done, I need to rerecord a few things so I don't spread misinfo.
I need fuujin to be the main focus again come on arcsys
Yo those patch notes were fire hahahah
Do you think they will ever buff fuujin to allow it to whiff follow upS???
I don't know.
Convertions? I have to do convertions? Man, i suck at math and now even fighting games force me to do convertions.
Stroke the big CAWK
Not going to lie, I'm just here for man's chest
I do infact like strong Japanese man chest
That thumbnail tho
nice thumbnail
😎 cool any chance pregnant Anji?
Try that on my Patrick Star

Thank god for this breakdown.
