Cory I am new to your reviews and was wondering where you live, maybe Europe or the states, just out of curiosity. Could you play some melody with your reviews.
Thanks for another excellent review. I got a good sense of what this guitar is like. I played in a band with a guy who had one of these and it too was really well made. I was comparing it with a Yamaha SA2200 so that tells you something. I have an Ibanez GSA60 that I bought used. That's one of their cheapest guitars and it's still really well made !! I did a Roland Ready conversion and it tracks really well. The problems with the AS73 are so easily fixed that I wouldn't be put off by them. Thanks again. I value your opinion and look forward to the next review.
I didn't realize these came out so long ago. Nice guitar. Stick a little pencil lead in the nut slots and the pinch will be no more. I like your intro music. It had me coming up with vocal melodies straight away 😎👍
Yo! Bought mine earlier this year (2021). The nut isn't sticking at all and I think they changed the pots, since the noise is completely gone. I think they might have improved the quality on those aspects. There is some slight unaccuracy with paint around the bindings and "corners", but nothing I could see without taking off my glasses and sticking my face really close to the guitar. The lower strings are definetely on the heavier side, which I suppose is that you "can" play it unplugged occasionally. I couldn't barre mine at all for a week or so (I had only played for a year so take that in accord), and after 6 months I still have to fight it for a bit, playing something purely with barres is a bit straining to my muscles, but that can also be my beginner's technique. I think the factory setup in mine is good, though I think the action could be a tidy bit lower without getting string buzz even with harder strumming. But the setup is quite accurate, meaning there's no inconsistency like some string are weirdly lower or higher than others. Stays in tune really well, of course the tuning changes a bit due the temperature changes, which I assume is partially because it's a new guitar so the wood itself still "lives" a bit, since I don't have that happening with my -67 Ibanez SG. I'm still beginner, but in my opinion it's really good value for the price. And the rose colored is really, really beautiful. Not that it should matter, but I know that it motivates me so that I want to play even more =) And it really is an attention catcher more than my actual playing =D Edit: Oh, there is a special oil for electronics you can use for the pots, I think that might fix the noise. I've used it for some older audio equipment. Granted that the consumer shouldn't be the one doing it for a new equipment, but in case someone has the noise dricving them crazy it's something to try. There are guides in youtube as well as how to access the pots (it's a chore tbh).
Love the way you played "Just Got Paid" It was fkn KILLER!👍Not too many guit players are brave enough to mess wit the awesome Reverend Willy's material. If he were to hear your guitar part that you just played of his hit, I'm certain he would stop whatever he was doing in order to listen to it.
This is a nice review of a really beautiful guitar and you make it sound beautiful too! I always like your riffs and licks. I wish Harley Benton would make the HB-35 in satin black, with the 3 way toggle at a different position. \m/ If you get yourself a new interface please try to make some reviews for a few of them. For example 3 interfaces from 60-150€: - Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD (63€) - Presonus AudioBox USB Recording-Interface (97€) - Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd Gen (142€) Just an idea... XD
I bought this. I absolutely love it and it came with heavier gauge strings, especially the low E/A… One thing I did notice that when I bought it from reverb the serial number has like a weird gold sticker over it with a different serial number that I can’t seem to identify does anybody know what that means
You really can't do better than these guitars unless you spend significantly more money. I've played them alongside D'Angelico's [The Korean ones] costing five times as much and I'd choose the Ibanez everytime.
I've played Gibson ES339 and another AM73B (that was in-stock at the store) through a Marshall DSL40 CR amp and I honestly liked the Artcore Ibanez better with all the light-crunch and heavy-gain sounds of that amp.
Hi Cory! How good is the HB35 plus compared to this one? How does it hold up generally? Are the wilkinson pickups better sounding than the ibanez ? Otherwise a really good review, and thanks! :)
+Jaka Mori the hb35plus is better overall for ME except for the quality.. bindings are not done as well and the fretboard is dirty... this stuff. besides that i prefer the hb35plus. got coil split too.
I have The HB 35 + cherry is the best guitar I've ever played. (25 years) So many different sounds thanks to the push pull controls. The finish on mine is fine except for the pick guard ( took it off immediately) I've had it 8 months now and it's still my favourite ( and cheapest) of 5 electric guitars.
great guitar! and they even improved it compared to the same model from a few years earlier... I own the 2019 as73, only two potentiometers and less elegant than this one in the video but it is already an excellent guitar, this one is certainly even better. Does Nut plastic matter? Nah, just slotted well. Fender on their american series use plastic nut and not so well slotted. thanks for the video!
I"m curious, dude, have you played the other Artcore models like the 53, 73, and 93? I have an AM73B. It doesn't seem like any of their other guitars sound better enough, or at all, to justify getting another one.
Hello Cory, I could really use your insights, I checked your Harley Benton videos, and I feel thorn in making a good decision, before I was looking at HB, I was checking out the Ibanez Artcore series (much more expensive).. quality wise, and tone wise considered, for lefties, wich HB would you pick, HB 35 (love the model! .. no Willkingson pickups), T90M (issues with dry wood fretboard, but beautiful P90's, lighter then HB35), ST45 (havent heard anything bad about them but no HB version for lefties) , SC Custom (I read you think these are best sound and best build?? , but mayb less comfortable than a bigger body guitar on lap position) ...(450 and 550: Ive heard the 450 and 550 are not that good in the sound department as the CST and SC Custom) ... I love Hollow BOdy the most, but not that many options LH ...So It would help me alot if you can give can guide me ;-) Thx for all your videos! :-) .. pff ES35, T90, SC Custom?? ...
+Hélio Solar hey man... i am not sure if they got it as lefty. but the HB35plus would be a great option. really dig that guitar. i always recommend otherwise the cst24t, most versatile guitar with a great playability! look at it and if you like it go with the cst24. available in red, blue, green and paradise flame. i got 2 reviews on my channel. xt22 could be something too. the reason i dont recommend the te90s so much is... they dont come with coil split but otherwise the blue te90 with humbuckers is a great choice too.. and semihollow.
Wow that XT22 is absolutely my taste,, (soundwise and dimensions of neck and body, very nice! :-) ) but not lefty .. HB35 Plus not lefty (only regular HB35) .. TE90 Blue sounds SOO very very nice, nice articulation of sound, good spread of low and high frequencies, nice ring haha... aargh but not lefty :-) ... So for blues that leaves me with, HB35..... switch pickups or TE90 RED go with P90's dark sound (possibly JA 60 but ugly fugly pickguard!! ) ... and or up the ladder SC 450 Plus (good reviews) and CST 24 Paradise flame (good reviews) .. HB needs more lefty guitars :-)
Why not put the tuners in a straight through position? Locking machine heads should be becoming the norm by now. I'd go for roller saddles on the bridge. Nice honest review. Another Epiphone killer?
Good choice of name for your son! :D i got a cheap clip on mic from amazon and a nikon d5300 with different lenses. in the playing i use my Logitech webcam for a second angle :D
OK, I like yer demo here. My 1st with you. A bit wordy, but, hey, you seem like a nice person so I will reserve judgement a few vids and SUBSCRIBE! Do you still have this Guitar?
Most of my questions will probably get answered when I get my hands on it. Folks seem to love it and I havent found too many comments slamming it for "price-point hardware or quality" issues. I expect to need perhaps a slight truss rod adjustment at best. Some have changed out the pickups, tuners, and plastic nut. I just want something I can start over with and have a less-expensive alternative that has very acceptable features and quality out of the box. I just hope I dont have to smooth out the fret ends, high frets, and deepen the nut grooves right out of the gate. I'd like to hit the ground running. Thank you for your response!! If I have any questions, I will certainly ask.
I've been wanting to get a Gibson 335 looking guitar. I just don't want to pay an arm and a leg for a junky Gibson. I already have a bunch of Ibanez RG's and they are amazing guitars. I might have to take a look at this.
I watch a good number of your videos but as a friendly suggestion - Shorten your videos. And if it's a new guitar - lub the nut to provide better tuning for your guitar demo.
BigRed56 The length of the video is wonderful; it gives me so much time to look at the guitar and for him to go into loads of detail. It also shows he’s not being lazy and he really cares about making quality stuff
Nice looking guitar..I've always had a huge ibanez prejudice..idk why??? I think maybe for this money the washburn alternative would kill it..??? Nice look..tonewise??? I'm not listening thru good monitors
a guitar with "tuning issues" is worth nothing - i have more than twenty Ibanez instruments (basses and guitars) if they are not 100% OK out of the box they go back because they can be 100% OK
i knew peoples said that ;-) yes it was a joke;-) and i have 23 guitars ( i am luthier ) very expensive guitars ;-) but in the price of harley benton it's not worst guitar ;-)harley benton it;s not shitty guitar. have just one ???? ;-)
I am really sorry for the sound problems! teases me the most!
Still hope you get all the informations you need out of it!
Cheers! :)
Cory I am new to your reviews and was wondering where you live, maybe Europe or the states, just out of curiosity. Could you play some melody with your reviews.
Just got one..been a fender guy my whole life...this one I can't put down..
so versatile, first guitar I bought after 6 months of work. Its amazing, and it's great for even playing unplugged. Ibanez is killer
FINALLY!! I've been trying to find a review of this exact guitar for months. Thank you!
York9x19 same... finally found a decent in depth review

I think these are SICK rock/heavy metal guitars. The semi-hollow nature gives it an extra depth and richness, as well as kinda 'breathing'.
Just found your channel when researching this guitar. High gain metal riffs on a semi hollow guitar= subscribed!
😊👌 thanks!
I just got this today. Absolutely wonderful.
Just bought one. Thanks for your review.😁😁😁
Looks very classy in black. My local store only has the pink one.
I didn't realize these came out so long ago. Nice guitar. Stick a little pencil lead in the nut slots and the pinch will be no more.

Such a beautiful guitar...I'm tempted to go get one lol
I used to have a white one that was similar and I loved that guitar
Did you try a set of lighter gauge strings on it ? Sometimes that solves the tight nut problems.
😎👍 Just bought this for my daughter's friend (they have a budding band) Thanks to your honest and informative review. Thank you...
The artcore range are seriously good guitars. I love my AF71
Came in early so I better make a joke,
My guitar skills
What is an inexpensive hard shell case that fits this guitar?
I like how the pickups sound with the tone down.

Nice review your very thorough I like your style. Im surprised you dont have 100k subs it seems your very honest no Bullshit.
Which from my experience Ibanez has always had good sounding pickups.
Hi Cory. How would you compare this to Epiphone ES339 with coil tap not P90S?
Pups sound wonderful too.🙂
I've got the AM73B, which is a 'lower model', yet my guitar sounds identical to what I'm hearing.
its literally specd to look cooler
I usually fit a tusq graphite nut on any fender or gibson style guitar.. even a bone nut can be sticky...
your very detail bro, I love it.
You really can't do better than these guitars unless you spend significantly more money. I've played them alongside D'Angelico's [The Korean ones] costing five times as much and I'd choose the Ibanez everytime.
It looks so beautiful but it seems it haven't good sound not?
Thats 24 3/4" scale to the rest of us.
Great review! Very informative.
Is the neck profile thin or chunky? Thanks.
Its in the middle. Definitely not thin. I don't got this guitar anymore so this is just from memory
Can I swap the bridge with a LesTremII from Deusenberg?
nice review cory

Leonardo Moreno that's true
Thanks guys! I will try the HB35plus out first then and see what happens :)
What a beatiful guitar! By the way, one day you should review the equipment used to record the sound, for example, the eleven rack I think you´ve got.
What is a good AMP for this guitar?
great guitar! and they even improved it compared to the same model from a few years earlier... Hi Cory, have you set it up before you did this review? or was it the stock set up? and what string gauge are those? cheers!
stock setup.. ibanez is pretty good with their factory setups. 10-46 on this guitar if i remember right
Thank you Cory!

Can't find anywhere that will ship this guitar to the UK (with this finish, at least).
One of my local store is selling this guitar in Malaysia but is from factory in China, price is reasonable but it look awesome
Holy shit that guitar is beautiful
Is this good for blues stuff?
Just wish they'd make this same guitar, but in a 339 size.
Why not put the tuners in a straight through position? Locking machine heads should be becoming the norm by now. I'd go for roller saddles on the bridge. Nice honest review. Another Epiphone killer?
What about the neck ?
It is basically Lucille with f holes
Cory i love your videos and my only son's name is Cory tell me what kind of camera and microphone do you use to make your you tube videos ????????
Good choice of name for your son! :D
i got a cheap clip on mic from amazon and a nikon d5300 with different lenses. in the playing i use my Logitech webcam for a second angle :D
very nice job Cory and yes it was a good choice
Hi Cory, would you say this is a jazz type of a guitar? Or can you some rock n roll/ blues?
+Mario Ugalde i think it can do it all although i had the feeling there are better options for rock and blues.
"horrible colours" "too much Bling" are you blind?
are you quoting me or what?
Wow! Nice guitar!
your guitar playing is the real deal.
Love your accent man you sound like Arnold. Im here to Jazz you Up!!! Lol
Beautiful instrument
Is that the semi hollow body or the hollow body
Semi
What strings the guitar had in this review?
Are they electric or for jazz?
Can you put a Bigsby on it?
Is this guitar good for jazz?
It's good for metal not jazz.
Could one of the pick ups be a little high, I can hear some clicking like the strings were a bit close.
probably my plek hitting a pickup? not sure
Have an esp les Paul …..this is my next guitar
OK, I like yer demo here. My 1st with you. A bit wordy, but, hey, you seem like a nice person so I will reserve judgement a few vids and SUBSCRIBE! Do you still have this Guitar?

Sterling work Mr Cory. I'd like you to shoot this out against the Epiphone dot.
Thank you! HareKrishna&GodBless❤️🙏
I like this guitar. It is a slight twist on the 335 but maybe a bit too much bling for me. Great demo.
www.thomann.de/de/ibanez_as73g_nt.htm this version shows the used wood better.
Top back and sides are all maple www.ibanez.com/products/hb_detail17.php?year=2017&area_id=3&cat_id=7&series_id=114&data_id=31&color=CL01

Ah yes, that baby looks sweet!👍
sounds like a gibson 335 or dot
I need a guitar with humbucker a, that’s the one!!!!!
That names a bit of a mouthful
She's pretty though
just do like billy gibbons does just put lighter strings on it and they wont stick at the nut !!!
yeah...could be an option. but they send it like this...stock strings in this video. i guess .010s would do the job already without sticking
aka Guitahnold.... ;-) this guy knows a little about gtrs.
But file and some graphite and ur golden
Run to the heli coptah !!!!!

Piotr Kochanek Widzę, że ktoś od ksantypa
No its not, blind fanboy
What? Are you kidding? Just because you don't have more money to get a decent guitar it doesn't mean your shitty guitar is better than this one.

A beautiful guitar that sounds like crap.
Could you explain why?
A beautiful sounding guitar that looks like crap.
