- In today's video, we have a look at the Ibanez AF75GRGF. This sub £400 semi is, without doubt, one of the bargains to be had in the hollow guitar world.
Introduced by Ibanez in 2002, Artcore models have become the hollow-body guitar of choice for practicing and professional musicians. Artcore’s combination of quality workmanship and affordability has created legions of fans from diverse genres such as blues, country, rock, and jazz. Artcore offers musicians the purity of an old-school jazz box as well as a hybrid semi-hollow rocker. Artcore guitars are highly respected for their tone, sustain and the way the instruments hold their tuning. The series continues to push the boundaries of guitar building. The hollow-body electric guitar AF75G boasts gold hardware, a gold pickguard, and multi-body binding- all contributing to its gorgeous appearance. This guitar is also equipped with Classic Elite pickups that offer a rich, nuanced tone with a fat low end. Non-slip Sure Grip III knobs allow accurate volume and tone control while also contributing to the model’s overall classic look.
The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

Yes, I would also have chased this one like a fish chasing a lure had I spotted it in a shop. What an interesting guitar
My Father in law just gifted one of these to me. It's the Red and Black color scheme. Beautiful guitar in similar condition to yours there. TBH I didn't know much about this model, so here I am doing a little research. Glad to have found this review and even more excited to learn to play. Thanks guys!
I happened upon this exact model/color guitar while browsing the racks at Guitar Center last night (looking for good first time electric options for my guitar students).
I immediately fell in love with it but was not out to buy a new guitar.
This morning I watched your video about it and turned off my computer halfway through, got in my car, and drove to GC to buy it on the spot. Thanks for the great review and demo. What you played in the intro is stunning.
I was gonna get thr blue one but my goodness is this one gorgeous
Love that Ibanez!! I have an AF75 in white with Bigsby. It plays like a dream, intonation is superb, and has that wood sound for cleans that is amazing! Great buy gents!
Just bought one yesterday ,lovely guitar . (Black) Thanks guys .. Brilliant blog, really helpful . Keep it up 🎶🎵👍
what a stunner!
Nice sounding Guitar 👌
Great looking and sounding guitar! Makes me want one for sure. I got an Ibanez AR520 in black earlier this year - another Ibanez jazz style - for about $550 and absolutely love the looks and tones on it as well. Ibanez fills a niche few others choose to cover.
Who would want a big, orange box anyway?
Excellent guitar!
RGF=really good faces, when Paul plays a guitar
Rose gold looks good on that
Ive been wanting the double cut version of this for awhile now, the AS73 in red. Always been a fan of Ibanez and even though I like Epiphone, LTD, Schecter, and others, I want a Ibanez for a hollow/semi hollow.
I bought a used Ibanez AF55 tobacco sunburst for $80 and it plays identical to this rose gold one. I was chuckling when I threw some distortion on it. It’s a metal guitar. 👌😂
Very nice 👍
Don’t change the pick ups sounds great to me 👌
Just here to congratulate you on the title. Bravo.
Thank you sir!
@@TheStudioRats Gorgeous Ibanez to boot. Great purchase!
you should upload a slash tone tutorial! It would be amazing!!!
Sounds great, some flatwounds would really calm down that string noise when sliding up and down though.
Love the colour.
My AF100 is setup with Thomastik flats. Honestly, fit and finish is very good, but tone is not the best.
$$$$ Money is not always the sale of a instrument... verses over the feel and sound makes a personal buying choice.
I like the Ibanez over the Gretsch.
I cannot find this model, was it a limited run?
If you play a Pink song on a pink guitar will it cause a black hole in the universe?
It’ll cause a pink hole.
James, the humbucker sized Seymour Duncan Psyclone pickups are great and would probably be killer in that, and they’re coil-splittable as an added bonus. I have them in an SG -

Perfect for playing opeth...
I believe those are called archtop guitars.
Love this channel. Not crazy about your clean tone. You put too much drive in all your sounds. I'm sure you know more about tone than me but i know clean from drive sounds. My opinion as a guitar fan.
Finar finar! 🤣
The pickups on that Ibanez might be to bright and modern for your liking.
What's Grandpa have that's pink and wrinkled? Grandma.
I’m sorry Paul. You spend all your money on gear and can’t afford pants 😢 Or maybe your wife spends the leftovers?
Sharp knees.
@@TheStudioRats , Paul… I have a grinder for that! Ouch🤬
Who gets the guitar in the divorce ?😂
You cannot possibly judge a guitar with that much reverb. It sounds absolutely shit. Play it dry man!
