Fun fact the voice actor for Joe in mafia 2 actual holds the record for most profanities used in a video game.
Joe is a hero
vito back me up
This fucking guy
The fact that a roughly one hour game can only be beaten by 20+ hour games for most curses is pretty impressive ngl.
Fun Fact: "Diaper Sh#t" is an insult that I would've used in 4th grade..lol..I laughed so heard when he said that 🤣
Let's not forget that this game has one of the funniest modes to bleep out curse words, which is the one where you shoot curse words during cutscenes and it replaces them with animal sounds. And since characters in the game curse like there's no tomorrow, it's hilarious. I laughed my ass off playing it.
Typing of the Dead Overkill is unironically the best typing game in existence.
Typing of the Dead Overkill is bad ass
TOTD > Mavis Beacon
Zombie Mavis Beacon for real.
Mavis Beacon Teaches Shooting
No typing of the dead is because hotd 2 is better than overkill
Kinda sucks how this game ends in a cliffhanger without any sequels
*cough* *cough* half life
Well, it's actually a prequel to the first game. Caesar saying he has powerful friends is probably a reference to Curien in HOTD1.
That, and G in Overkill is described as a rookie. He's survived all the way through HOTD3.
@@VladyO yeah, but does the chick get a new body? She ends up a brain in a jar
@@22freedom33 Yeah, it kinda sucks that SEGA wouldn't acknowledge Overkill plotwise. Besides G, nothing really carries over in the subsequent games. Even the latest one: Scarlet Dawn.
It would've been cool if they allowed Headstrong to do their own take of the HOTD games. Like reimagined remakes of the original games but with all of the over-the-top shit from Overkill. But alas, Headstrong is no more
@@jom_ There is a remake of the first game in the works.
You come home from a long workday. You open up UA-cam. You see a 7 minutes old video from the man himself... absolute satisfaction
It's 24 minutes though
@@SnapThority he meant from the time the video was uploaded to when he saw it in his subscriptions.
@@ThePerro Damn right.
@@SnapThority are you the smart mouth kid that doesn't know the meaning of long day of work and doesn't want some snarky kid trying to correct his comment
@@ThePerro oh ok
Best part about this game. Gotta be the weapon sounds and music. All top notch, gets the grind house aesthetic down like the 2007 splatter flick, planet terror.
The whole 'they're mutants' thing is just a poke at how a lot of zombie media refuses to actually use the damn word in said media, probably due to the myth that George A. Romero never used the word in his original trilogy (which he did, in Dawn there's a point late in the film that Peter clearly uses the term).
@@KyleDevy For you maybe but let's face it; if there was an outbreak of undead, we WOULD just call 'em zombies, it's been firmly entrenched and then some.
@@KyleDevy Excellent point. But at the same time, a lot of alternate terms tend to be just as confusing. For example, The Walking Dead just uses the term 'walkers'... which technically is the entire cast of humans as well as the zombies. And it draws attention to the fact that that you're refusing to say the word that the vast majority of your audience will just casually use without a care about whether the term exists in the fictional universe. It's something of a thorny issue either way.
Personally, I just say 'screw it' and say 'zombie'
@@martincann5052 I agree. Personally when G said "we're not using the Z word, remember", I just groaned, because that joke is neither clever nor new, (Shaun of the Dead did it, Joel Haver did it last year, pretty sure it's been done a million times).
You'll never make everybody happy; @Kyle Devy loses immersion when they use it, but I lose immersion when they DON'T. :D
"Diaper shit" is going into my vocabulary immediately.
"'House of the Dead' directed by Quinton Tarantino?" Nah. Seems more like a Robert Rodriguez flick. Tho' Tarantino would be involved somehow.
Clearly not a Tarantino thing - doesn’t seem to be any foot fetishism shoehorned in.
@@CantankerousDave You beat me to the foot fetish joke
@@CantankerousDave what about the final boss fight?
Quinton Tarantino presents... a Robert Rodriguez film House of the dead. There that’s how they could do it 😂
This was my first thought
Enjoyed this game as a kid, remembered it having a mobile version too
Oh shit, I used to play the shitty mobile version on my old iPhone back then.
It wasn't the same as playing the actual game on a Wii/PS Move but it was still good, dumb fun. Kept you occupied when you're waiting in a waiting room haha
Yeah I remember playing the shitty mobile game back then too, it was fun nonetheless, although hard at times, but yeah, I’d say this game was fun, not the best but it was pretty solid.
Yeah the mobile one was brilliant imo, HOTD Overkill: The Lost Reels
Same same. I used to play it on mobile as well.
Same, but why's not on the Play Store now?
You don't need to write a record for most profanity on a game......
because already got a official Guiness Record
I'm pretty sure the Scarface game has that record.
@@HOTD108_ it does... funny thing is GmanLives even reviewed it and mentioned it has the record for most profanity
I thought Mafia 2 took that title? Did it not? Or did GTA V steal that

Dont know why but that „we‘ll find you, varla!“ line almost killed me
And there i am, at the end of the Video, feeling Bad for varla :(
Goregasm needs a sequal were a scientist creates a clone body to put Varla on, but then HOTD shit happens, now Varla needs to kill an army of zombie clones of her.
What happened to the big tittied blonde girl?
@@Pulang_Diwa Dies after the Minotaur boss fight. Stage 5, I think.
I want this on PSVR. Badly. Some of my most fun moments were at a arcade, playing house of the dead 3
Honestly, a collection of old school rail shooters for vr? Could be awesome
I don't know. The PSVR is by far the worst vr headset I've used, they just put their grubby hands on exclusive rights and keep some of the good games.
@@shnouth5391 psvr would be good for rail shooters tho, but you are right
Is on ps3 with move controllers and is on 3D if you have a 3D tv
A big part of rail shooters is the automatically moving camera, which is usually a no-no in VR, leading to simulation sickness in most people.
Every line of dialogue in this game is quotable and just plain great
"...and every good horror shooting game worth a grain of salt always has to have a hospital level."
FEAR and the entire STALKER series: "Are we jokes to you?"
But.. there is a hospital section in Fear.
Is there a better sign that Badass-ery is afoot than when a video opens with
“Freeze Bitches!” ????
Ya, didn’t think so! Great video GGGMan...
Unintentional humor that is the voice acting from House of the Dead 2 is gold. That kind of humor is everyone's type. The so bad it's good humor is powerful stuff
The intentional humor here in Overkilled is well just different. In the sense of if this is your type of humor then this is top notch and you appreciate the direction they went with and like Gman himself said it saves the game at times
My older brother used to take me with him to the arcade when i was younger and i remember watching him and his friends have a blast playing the first house of the dead whilst i stood behind them scared shitless. Good times!
Ironically, the black curtains around a light gun game made it look even more alluring to me when I was a kid. It was like a little fort or personal theatre.
1:54 - "Overpriced housing market" -
As a fellow Aussie, I share that same frustration as well.
I'm not an Aussie but that was hilarious. Good point about poisonous spiders as well
This is literally the only reason I own a PlayStation Move...
And a Sharp shooter in my case
Ah, Cheese, Sleaze and Skeeze - the three pillars of an excellent game.
House of the Dead Overkill - the Humorous spin-off which ditches the Romero-meets-Seven aesthetic of the main games for a Grindhouse style.
Blue Estate is another rail shooter that bares some similarity to Overkill that I think is definitely worth a check out. Someone on the Steam community said it was made by the same team but I can't confirm that, after having played it though, I'd believe it. One of it's selling points is how many ways you can control it which is not only with a Mouse or controller but also USB Light Guns and even this hand tracker called the Leap Motion.
This episode has the best "Your Mum" joke in your entire game review series. 8:42
This is my favorite Wii game of all time! It's an absolute fantastic rail shooter. And I love how it's broken into chapters in a old grind house style aesthetic. In my opinion it is better on the Wii, especially with the zapper.
Bruh I literally rewatched your HOTD series review last night and wondered if you were gonna do this soon, lmao
Holy shit, I got favorited? Love your content, dude!
Recently played through the Wii and PC/PS3 versions again. It actually bothers me how much content was removed from the PS3/PC version which was in the Wii.
Nothing game changing, but it does change the atmosphere of a few of the levels.
For example, in the first level, in Papa Caesar's House of Pain, there are corpses strung up from the ceiling all over the basement. There are also Zombies feeding these corpses into the meat grinding machine and feeding of the contents coming out. All of which was removed from the PS3/PC version.
However they did add a better UI and more level content to the PS3/PC version, along with the two bonus Varla/Candy levels which are quite fun to play through.
The only thing I don't know is if the American Flag still waves whenever you get a GoreGasm on the PS3/PC. When your reach Goregasm on the Wii, your HP/Combo bar becomes a wavinbg American flag until you take damage. Since I only have a controller for PS3, I've never really reach Goregasm, or reached it for long.
This and Dead Space: Extraction are both underrated rail shooters imo.
I have 2&3 and overkill director's cut on the Wii. So much replay value it's unreal. If they were the only Wii games that system would still be in my top ten of all time.
I've owned this game since June and I've played it almost daily ever since. It's an absolute gem I love it
I played that so much I could 1 cred the games lmao
This game looks like the director watched planet terror and just said "THAT!"
I loved this game on the Wii so much. Played it so many times. And the Typing of the Dead Overkill for the PC is so much fun!
I'm so glad this was uploaded as I happened to be watching GmanLives videos lol
Hell yeah, its about damn time this game got some proper recognition! Between Overkill and those two Resident evil rail shooters (although darkside chronicles felt kinda weaker than umbrella chronicles from what i remember), i had an absolute blast getting through them alongside my brother
I bought, played and beat this on Wii when it came out, and it's kind of amazing what a higher resolution and waaaaaaay better lighting can do for a game that has had nothing else about it changed or improved.
Wow. I just starting playing The Typing of The Dead: Overkill again after an extended hiatus. I thought to myself, considering you had done a House of the Dead series review, Overkill would hopefully be coming soon. Good choice GMan!
Hahahhaha I played this years ago on the Wii and man did I had a blast lol I just kept thinking that this was something straight out of Quentin tarantino lol very underrated game and I'm glad you got to play also and review it
I actually remember playing this game years ago with my brother, so many fun memories.
The pay-off you get at the end of the game to Isaac saying "motherfucker" every 5 seconds, is hilarious.
I loved that game when it came out, it fitted perfectly with planet terror which came out just two years before that.
The inspiration for the style and plot of this game comes from Robert Rodriguez's Grind House films; Planet Terror and Death Proof.
This makes me want a video about carnival levels in FPS games from you even more
Varla looks like every character I've ever created in any game that has let me create a character.
"That typing mode is down right soul crushing"
That's what the Workshop is for. One of the mods replaces all the words with different kinds of cheese.
This game did in fact have the guiness world record for most swearing in a video game. By a lot.
I bought a WII to play House of the Dead 2 and 3 Return and this i was not disappointed.
It's also on PS3.
Wiimote shooters were so underrated.
@@Invidente7 Only HoTD3 on PS3.
@Omar Elkahky - No. PS3 has digital-only versions of HoTD 3 & 4 (in USA). Overkill was available as a digital & a physical copy.
@@TexasHollowEarth I wasn't mentioning HoTD4, lol, I'm mentioning that HoTD2 is not on PS3 as Invidente confusingly mentioned it.
Great game, played it to death on my Wii, one thing that might be missing from these newer versions is the dual gun mode the wii had (you play with two wiimotes but only have one health bar).
I don't think I've ever replayed a Wii game as much as this 😂

I think my favourite single scene in this game is how you actually get the miniguns for the final boss.
Also "One night in the Bayou" is the best song on the soundtrack as it's a song about a guy telling his son how he fucked a zombie and accidentally ate it's lips while kissing it.
I remember playing this with my dad back when I was 6. We played through the game on every difficulty. Good times...
“The cream pie mh-h-h-obile” nice 😂
"Are you sure it's alright for her to be playing this? It's pretty profane." "It's just a game mom, calm down." My then 13 year old sister proceeds to burst in from the living room excitedly jumping up and down, " I GOT A GOREGASM!" Awkward looks ensue.
Played it on PS3 and got the platinum trophy. Absolutely the best rail shooter I've ever played. Lots of levels, lots of extras and incredibly hilarious.
Oh yeah. House of The Dead. Remember this like yesterday, how I spent all my rubles (Russia currency) playing on a shitty arcade machine with House of the Dead 3, with these badass shotguns in a shitty shopping centre. Even when I ran out of money, I was spending some time aiming with those shotguns at invisible zombies and doing "tschk-tschk" reload sound.
Wholesome gun ruski boi

@@tadpolegaming4510 can't say that I'm offended by it, but do you understand that saying something like that IRL can give you troubles?
Thank you.. thank you so much for another quality entertaining video as always man!
Typing Of the Dead Overkill is genuinely one of the most enjoyable games I've played. What a ride.
The music in this game is incredible.
I remember watching playthroughs of this a long time ago and absolutely loving the over-the-top gore, body horror with the bosses, and especially the dialogue. I also love how similar in nature it is to grindhouse films like Planet Terror or Death Proof.
This game sole existence is just for you to make jokes at it. Feels like destiny
All of your review videos remind me of G4’s X-Play. There’s just something so good about your videos and the nostalgia I get from your specific format that I really love, so keep up the good work ❤️
Late comment, but I've had this on wii for years and still love it.
I've also got the magnum attachment that the control goes into so you're holding a "gun".
Works really well
"Your speaking isn't so hot either, honey." 🤣🤣🤣
So Glad you did a review on this GEM. Agreed, its sad how much this game didnt get as much recognition as it should. The magnum fully upgraded blasting zombies back across the room in slow mo never got old. I was praying for a re-make on the wii u or switch
LOVE GMAN! I love youtubers who review, in an in-depth way, video games and spent hours with them. mostly because i hate finishing games so ill never know these things! TY
Love this game to death, sad we never got a sequel!
Perfect combination of cheese and blood and I'm not ashamed to admit I like this combination xD
Ah, endless mom jokes. That's why I subscribed.
I've had this game sitting on my game shelf for years... I think it's time to play it thanks to this video.
Re7: I’m gonna revitalize my franchise by abandoning everything that made it special like how the game plays and memorable characters in favor of outlast with a pistol and it will take place in a bayou.”
House of the Dead Overkill: “Move aside Diaper sh!t, let a professional show you how it’s done.”
Played the Wii version to death, when the PC version came out I had to buy at launch. Fucking love this game, it's hilarious.
Some of the gripes Gman had can be because the team who made the PC version had a low budget and little time to work on it. There wasn't a whole lot of support for the game post launch outside of a few dictionary DLCs to add more words. As much as there's very little chance they'll revive the series, I still hope it gets a sequel.
I own the Version for PS3 and playing it ones a year. It´s just a damn entertaining game with a great sense of humor and fun characters. Honestly just for this game i bought ps move.
I currently owns this and Dead Space: Extraction(Through Limited Edition of DS2) for my PS3, definitely considering buying a move.
You might also like somewhat similar game called "Blue Estate". it's on Steam and is pretty much being overlooked, even though it's really fun.
Had a group of friends in college. We played this and 2 on the Wii with the guns, laughing at them for hours. It's still one of my wife's favorite games and she still has to make people play it if they mention they never heard of it.
Yes, she is doing holy work.
Good memories playing this. Me and my friend absolutely loved it.
I like how you described every level as “the best in the game” or “one of the better levels in the game” lol. that means that this game is fucking QUALITY, the Gman says so!
I actually loved to play this game back on the Wii, I grew up playing the house of the dead games. My parents even have a old picture at the Canary Islands when I was young with house of the dead arcade machines in the background. I did not play the first game as much as the second game because I had the second game on xbox and I still have the lightgun controller for xbox after all these years.
In my opinion, this is the best hotd in the whole series. I just hope they made it the canonical prequel to the first game. Seeing G as a lesser serious AMS agent is just refreshing.
There's another game similar in tone but without zombies Called "Blue Estate"
Blue Estate is so cool, only game I played that use PS4 control motion sensor but don't feel like a shoehorned mechanic
The main thing I love about this game is how it is a love letter to grindhouse cinema from start to finish.
Man playing these on Church field trips was hilarious.
Thanks Gman, this game deserves more recognition.
Nice vid. Except I cannot watch this one cause I still have 100's of your other vids to watch through. You don't understand this pain.....
I love this game. Badass coop game
i remember playing overkill really young and just learning all the bad stuff XD good times
awesome work here! I had this on a hard drive and totally forgot about it!! Plus I thought it was only "typing" never knew you could use a controller!! Thanks for this....cheers
The life system is implemented during the Directors cut levels. Also the roided out zombie comes in during the Carnival level first. The camera isn’t random. You just have to replay the levels and learn the timing for each section. That’s how you’ll get your combos high.
I'm wearing this butchers smock to keep us both from unwanted splashing
i had a lot of fun playing this on the Wii, good times!
Definitely warrants a warning for the constant flashing lights; my head was killing me when you were playing clips of the old game. Heck, the curtains in Australia might have been there to protect the kids from it, lol.
I would love to have this game remastered and released on PSVR and PC VR.
My 4 year old loves HotD. So much for that psych damaging pixellated gore.
I loved Typing of the Dead! Had it for the Dreamcast. I got up to 90 words a minute. lol
Your channel is great entertainment
3:07 that damn zombie playing billiards looool
I think in the Nintendo Wii version when you reach goregasm the combo counter turns into the USA flag, gorgeous, and im not american
Yeah, honestly I agree with you. I play the pc version on steam and it's pretty serviceable, especially since it's kinda your best rail shooter on steam. I really hope more get added, especially beacuse it's a perfect example of a modern rail shooter with the gun upgrades. Especially when you get the secret guns later on like the explosive crossbow and gwendeloin.
Tried to find it on steam, couldn't find it in the search
@@sarmeister1699 Its "Typing of the Dead Overkill" it includes the option to play either shooting or typing modes.
I remember playing this on the Wii and I absolutely loved it. Such an amazing B Snuff film I never knew I wanted.
When I think about this game, I get GTA Vice city games memories.
Papa Caesar looks like Colonel Cortez, Isaac looks like a 300% angrier Victor Vance, and Varla gives me Mercedes and Louise vibes.
the typing of the dead version is pretty unique, fun if you like typing on your blue switch keyboard.
Finally, i have been waiting for this since your series review.
I love house of the dead overkill it was really awesome and badass
