Fucking loved this game. Nostalgia is a great word for even just the aesthetic of it, it's a combination of the absurdity of games like Postal and Bully mixed with the first Tarantino movie you rented from a blockbuster back in the day. Gameplay wise it's nothing special and it probably would have gotten on my nerves if they didn't incorporate the sword mechanics and the game wasn't so short but man thematically and artistically it did what it set out to do, make you laugh, make your backseat gaming friends laugh, incorporate callbacks to pop culture you actually legitimately forgot existed. Cult game status. Everybody has uniquely different definitions of nostalgia but if you want to go back to carefree early 2000s for just a little while I highly recommend.
Wasn't this the game that featured Eliza Dushku (Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as the voice actress of the main protagonist? I've always wanted to play this! It's definitely a Tarantino-inspired romp into ultra-violence. This is what happens when BloodRayne meets Kill Bill, and that's totally my jam.
Fun fact: the songs you are listing in this games are oftenly refered as 'psychobilly', it's based off of rockabilly (like Elvis Presly), but with more bass slap and dash of wooOOO *OOO O O O*

Gotta say, I'm currently playing through Saints Row 3 remastered on my PS4 and the amount of shit you can do in that game is insane.
5:02 i just love how the car just explodes and flips in a blink of an eye
Love all the falling deaths when the game's opening cutscene is literally her leap of faith'ing two stories down.
Probably my favorite underrated game of all time. Only nitpick I had about it was the fall damage
Fun fact: the songs you are listing in this games are oftenly refered as 'psychobilly', it's based off of rockabilly (like Elvis Presly), but with more bass slap and dash of wooOOO *OOO O O O*
oh my god....i remember doing a post mortem about this for a game design course. the star VA was the actress who played faith in buffy the vampire slayer tv show
7:48 omg the french-canadian swearing, i heard that!!!
I remember playing this when it came out, and went through it so many times. Was honestly a Gem of its time, and everytime I ask someone if they've played it, it's always no. No clue how this one managed to be as much of an underdog game.
it should get a rerelease on newer consoles and pc hell it might make people notice it
@@thatkerimguy yeah, it's a shame we never got the sequel as it got canceled. Definitely wouldn't see the light of day in today's climate though, would immediately be shot down by social justice warriors and feminists.
Probably has something to do with the name. "Wet" is not exactly inspiring.
@@GetBonked Not sure why, nothing really offensive heck feminists might like Rubi. Man didn't postal 4 came out, sounds like an excuse when people say something can't be release in today's climate.
@@Jak239JC I mean you could be right, I said in another comment that I could be totally wrong, people pick and choose when they want something to be offensive and address it. That was just my thoughts on it, I don't mean to sound like I know exactly how it would be received, even though I said it like I do.
Wet and Perfect Dark Zero were my fav games as a kid. Played the games over and over again and loved every second of them
I can honestly say I did not appreciate this game like I should have at 18. Now I look back, this game is a gem!
- "Is that music from the Dreadnoughts?"
"It sounds like rock pirate music." - Kev
- "Ah, so it _is_ the Dreadnoughts."
ah yes a fellow dreadnoughts appreciater
Oh man, trip back through memory lane on this one.
Never knew WET was made by the DbD developpers, what a surprise honestly.
This, THIS is a video game man. So many memories playing this when I was young. The story was great, the gameplay was insane and so much fun, a strong female lead that wasn’t some Mary sue. She was just straight bad mothertrucker. I genuinely don’t understand how there wasn’t a remaster or even a sequel. An absolute masterpiece
WET is still one of my favourite games and Ruby still one of my favourite characters really want a second game 🤟😁
Actually this game was my first M rated game played in my elementary days and the most fun times too
I kept hearing about this game, this is genuinely the only time I've seen gameplay of it
You should give it a try if it cheap it straight simple fun
Ah man you definitely missed out on a gem. Played this game when it originally came out, and played it way too many times to count. That, and Afro Samurai. It's chaotic and weird like this, but in its own way lol
@@GetBonked afro samurai was another underrated game never got proper love
@@amanchoosesaslaveobeys6510 I know right!? Man that game was mad fun, and had one of those stories that's off the wall weird, but can still be followed. Plus the gameplay was crazy good. Games like this from back in the day always had a way of scratching that itch that games today just don't reach
This feels like a game I’d dream about playing and wake up thinking “wait none of that made any sense” 😂 thanks for the great vid man. God bless!
I thought it was odd she was so effective with .22 out of two revolvers. All the commenters saying that Wet should be Dry next, I have to say that it refers to WET work which is espionage and murder.
Man, I remember Matt McMuscles talking about how much of a QA nightmare working on this game was. I haven't thought about it in years.
I remember I got this game for Christmas and played the hell out of it. I wasn't a fan of the Max Payne games but WET always had a special place in my heart. It wasn't the best game but I thought it was extremely fun.
God I remember the fever dream this was. Why does it feel like every game from my childhood like a fever dream? It just doesnt feel like normal life to re-experience these games
“With no backwards compatibility”
PlayStation now, making this playable on the ps5 “am I a joke to you?”
which is odd because it was an xbox game
@@yagmi6182 You can literally see early in the video that it was released on the PS3 as well.
@@yagmi6182 it’s on ps3 as well
Yeah it came on PS3 too.
Playstation Now is a joke though :P
Not meant as a Sony jab. I just don't think we're "there" yet for game streaming.
I tweeted for them to remake or make a wet 2 cause it was one of my fav games to someone at Bethesda and he said wet was one of his favorite games. And he agreed. His was two years ago or so
I loved this game as a kid, rented it back to back to back to back at blockbuster. Never realized how gory it was LOL
I actually remember watching my dad play this game. I was so young probably 6 years old or something when my dad played this game, guessing it was his pals though. I didn't think I would have nostalgia seeing this game. I didn't know what the game was called. Love how you brought some light to it. Keep the good work going 👍
I loved this game back in the day. Great gameplay, great one liners, batshit story, and Eliza Dushku
This game needs a remake and a PC port!
Gotta say, I'm currently playing through Saints Row 3 remastered on my PS4 and the amount of shit you can do in that game is insane. Like, there's an entire minigame around stripping naked and scaring NPCs and another one where you balance yourself on a moving car. That's sick!
Can't believe I'm saying this, but older games just had an extra level of oomph to them.
One of the games of all time. Glad to see it’s getting some attention.
Why does this look unironically amazing. Embrace the insane action cheese
Very fond memories of this game. Looks like it was made for edgy 15 year olds which is great because I was exactly that when it came out.
Thank you so much for playing this. the controls were really hard but this was one of my favorite games.
This reminds me more of Stranglehold, also a completely insane game with bullet time. But you could also just argue that this was a 3rd person bulletstorm
Bulletstorm has no bullet time mate
My man, you summed up my nostalgia for this game in one sentence:
"LET ME AIIIM!!"
On another note, no wonder SUPER HOT seemed so familiar... 🤔
Wet...cos we get to play with her🖕😲🖕.It was a blast tho
I remember being highly intrigued by this game when it was first announced. My friend bought it due to me being so hyped about it. Little did I know this game was hardcore af. I've never had a chance to play it through.
Dude this game looks amazing. Hope they make a remaster or a sequel
Absolutely adored this game. The demo had me hooked, I played it to death, and played through the game itself three times, it was just so fun
I remember when I bought this game for like, 12 dollars. I was a high school kid with now money. I had a few good story games. I would beat them and sell them on eBay to buy others. One was Wet and I enjoyed it because of the style and music. Crazy that this game is now selling for close to $100.
I do remember wet actually. I had a huge crush on the main voice actress who played her in bring it on.
I wish they were able to remaster this one today. This game was AWESOME!
I played this game years ago and its pure adrenaline, loved it, i think it deserves a remake
This is one of my favorite games ever. I played the demo so much until I finally got the game. And I’ve put so many hours into it since then
I remember playing the demo of this in high school. I loved it, bought the game that day and absolutely had a blast playing it. Its just an unapologetic over the top action game that also had a lot of style to it. Its sad that you can no longer find this game outside of being able to find physical copies out there.
If they brought this back as a remaster id totaly buy it to relive my nostalgia from 2009.
I’ve never heard of this game but I definitely would play it if a remastered version came out.
Yes, I do. It was quite epic. I hope at some point they make it backwards compatible or do a Remaster.
dude i come back to this game constantly the slow mo feature and free running played so differently back in the day
I've only seen the box art browsing games so I knew nothing about this and assumed I wouldn't like it. This is way different to what I was expecting and has way more personality.
This game looks like a lost gem.
To this day I don't know why we didn't at least get a remastered version of wet for the PS4 and Xbox One
Thank you for giving exposure to this underrated game
okay this game should be a cult classic by now this is nuts
1:59 There's that scream again.
I played this game SO many times back in the day. One of my all time favorite xbox360 games.
loved this game, picked it up by browsing through gamestop - used the strat of buy stuff that looked cool and if it wasn't return it - and this game was not a disappointment! was like a fever dream
"I don't even know what the story is yet" My whole childhood before learning English
Dude I’ve been waiting for this one never got to beat it as a kid but remember having so much fun with it 😭
The action in this game was insane .. was really expecting a sequel
