When you tried to put that nutsert into that hex hole, it reminded me of that game we had as kids. Square block goes in square hole and round block goes in round hole 😂
Bro, not saying that anything you said was wrong, but in MY experience, at the slow speeds with which we're crawling over obstacles, overheating our shock oil is not a factor. Now, if we're at KOH....then yeah. But really, for rock or mall crawling, rez shocks IN MY HUMBLE OPINION are just for looks. But you were 100% correct when you said they look cool!!👍🏻😎🤘🏻
Well, there’s plenty of bombing in the wash where we like to wheel… even road driving cycles the shock… true not as harsh… but our roads suck lol. And they catch the eyes!
@@ShockWaveOffroad speaking facts, air shock buggies, churched up ORI air shocks wont fade unless your going through whoops or 60-70mph down washboard roads for an extended amount of time, really the ONLY benefit of a RR is longer shock travel being up and down travel, thats the ONLY reason I went with my 3 year old falcon 3.3 12.4 travel other than that they ride like any stiff monotube shock and I guess look "cool" now I'm working on swapping them out with 14" ORI now that I dont daily it anymore, that being said you'll be happy with the 5160 their good shocks seen them take trail abuse and hold up well
My Rocksports faded really bad on the Rubicon. 12 hours of nonstop crawling made them HOT, towards the end my rig would lean pretty bad on anything even slightly off camber
I’m trying to decide what shock to go with. I want bilstein but I don’t seem to see a adjustable shock. I’m trying to do a mid travel Silverado build. I want to be able to tackle moderate trails and gravel/dirt roads with as much speed as I can safely do and not get beat to death. I’m gonna order a CWF upper control arm because that’ll give me 2 inches more of travel. So I’m thinking that’s gonna be 10inches of travel. 5 up 5 down. I don’t plan on lifting it much, maybe a inch or two. Eventually I wanna get U182 rear leafs and CWF hanger/shackle kit. I’ll probably have to install limit straps but it’ll ride real nice then. Beats you to death right now it’s so stiff.
It’s been a year and I’m in the same position as you with shock availability… 0 to 5 how do you like them on Road ? 0 to 5 how do you like them off-road? Would you do them again?
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD well I've done the rubicon trial. And is great for daily driving with 37 mickey Thompson 😀. No emotional damage. For the last 2 years. And 27 thousand miles
Hey Mo I know you sold Bromance from a different video, but I'm on the hunt to replace control arms, shocks etc. But i'm left between Teraflex Alpine IR control arms or Metalcloak Duroflex. How have the MC Duroflex been holding up prior to selling the rig? Did they hold up pretty well?
Any leaking problems? Ride quality still going well? I'm running Gladiator Rubicon take offs (on my Gladiator) . They seem too soft. I'm in the bump stops when going through mild dips on road. Also running antirock sway bar so i get a lot of side to side motion i'd like to get in check. Really thinking about these shocks. Pretty close to Rocksport travel in the 3-4.5" inch shocks.
You should do a video about replacing your rubber brake lines with steel lines. Ended up limping home last night with the Dodge because somehow while I was on an obstacle I ended up cutting a rubber brake line super fun trip home 🤪
I'd spin the rear reservoir's in for more clearance if they won't impact when flexing the rear. Looks like a rock catcher to me. I am waiting for the new Metalcloak res shocks due out soon. Take a look at those! :)
Piggyback always better because no hose to fail. Fitment is the issue. Moving floating piston out of main body into resi allows more room for working piston to travel.
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD not telling you to watch anyone else’s channel, but check out casey250. He goes inside MC and they show and talk about them. Coming soon
You know what’s amazing about this video? That you were able to get shocks.
No joke!

If it fits, I stick! 😂
Great video. I'm running the King remote reservoir shocks on my JLUR and love them. Thank you for sharing.
Classy! All the kings I saw… had some pretty heavy lead times.. and I needed shocks asap 😂 thanks for watching

Bilstein is a great choice for shocks. I typically on ever recommend them, fox, Teraflex falcon, or king.
So far… on road… they been great… we will see how they offroad soon

Lol! Glad you still thinking of me ❤️ 😂
I miss the jeep content from you guys. I have metalcloak game changers.rhey are awesome. On my gladiator

Funny story… we have a set for heathen… been sitting I. The garage for about 2 years… lol been lazy and not wanting to bleed the lines 😂
Are the 5160’s softer or stiffer than the Rocksports?
Good day.
Stiffer in my opinion… but worked really well with the set up….

Have you been happy with these???
Yes, a world of difference they made

seems like a rock will just clean that res off the frame. The fact that you have hit that area before seems like it could be a problem in the rocks.
Possible… as I mentioned, not a big fan of the front location…. Maybe make a skid plate for em
