pit/palutena/medusa in kid icarus to me are the best re-designs in gaming as it went from a simple cartoony look to adorable/beautiful & charming that they became my favorite nintendo characters period(alongside kirby & luigi/princess daisy.:3) that i really hope we see more games for.
Ashley Graham (Resident Evil 4 Remake)
Resident Evil characters get redesign over and over until the Remakes
Archie, Pokémon ORAS. In RSE he had a black business suit and a bandana. In ORAS he had a wetsuit, cape made of fishing net, a full beard, and a gold chain necklace with a huge anchor. Fitting for a pirate-themed ecoterrorist!
Tifa Lockhart in Final Fantasy VII Remake. I like her original design but there was something about her re-make design that just made me think it was perfect.

Lara Croft’s redesign looks good, but her classic design is Fantastic🥰 Also, MK1 Reptile is Best Reptile. Lastly, Cyborg Raiden is the Best MGS Raiden that ever exists.

Pit's redesign in Kid Icarus uprising is incredible.
The Giant Ants In It Came From The Desert (2018) a classic Video Game movie In my opinion based on the 1989 MS Dos game never played It but the movie was good enough for me Honestly and our titular Insect antagonists were a massive highlight wish we'd gotten an animated series though I'll watch every episode In a weekend

I like Reptile's design in MK4. Also iit was Midway who first developed the games. Netherrealm developed the series from 2011 onwards after Midway shut down.
For me personally, I like Spyro's redesign from the Legend Of Spyro trilogy.

I got a break it to you Johnny. I would love to see both Al and Raiden up here in the six smash brothers entry and perhaps they can have both of their old and lame and new later OG designs.

The Scarecrow in Batman: Arkham Knight. His design in Arkham Asylum is certainly unique, compared to most of his designs but not particularly scary. Arkham Knight Scarecrow however looks like Assassin's Creed meets Resident evil and is very scary, especially when you realise his mask isn't a mask at all.
Personally, I love both Tawna's OG design and her alternate counterpart from "It's About Time." Blame Universal Studios for the lack of Tawna

TF2: There is a reason why TF2 took 9 years in development and canceled a few other projects along the way that were supposed to be TF2 back then, Chet Faliszek, a former employee (if I remember correctly or still working for Valve), talked about working at Valve on TF2, Portal, etc. gameplay, the engine, the physics were, of course, the reason why the game took so long to make but they also took along with the designs and imagined how people acted, talked and looked like in the 50s/60s, etc. same with the music, the stories of those characters and so on
not just that recently ShorK and Oris TV worked with the VAs of TF2 to make live-action remakes of the Meet the Team clips, along the way they found that the Meet the Spy was supposed to be different than what we got today, but ShorK, OrisTV and Dennis Bateman (Spy's & Pyro's VA) made it happen and it was good, the TF2 community is weird and there is no doubt but that doesn't mean they love and support the game, etc. :)
Tomb Raider: the redesign of Lara Croft is mediocre, to be honest, the best design in my book is TR Anniversary Lara Croft, not just looking wise but especially personality wise, old school Lara is very confident, mocks her enemies without much effort and knows how to be a Tomb Raider, collecting those artifacts for herself and not bringing it to a museum like reboot Lara, I could go on and explain why I don't like reboot Lara and her design is unfortunately one of them :/
MK1: I was pretty surprised and satisfied with Reptile's redesign, especially how Netherrealm Studios wrote him as a character, they have done Reptile justice and he looks hella dripped out, I'm here for it!
Castlevania: All I can say is thank god Alucard got a redesign, top of that, this design makes him also iconic in my book, don't know if in entire media history but definitely in gaming history
MGR: R: I had nothing against Raiden's old design but I heard some people didn't like it and called it bland or mediocre, Raiden's redesign is basically an upgrade, and the gameplay, as well the story made Raiden's design even more iconic!
TLoZ: I think TP-Link or the characters in TP had the best designs, Link's redesign is perfect, as well as Zelda's ... her redesign is so perfect that she became my favorite Zelda, hopefully we get another Zelda game in the future with the same or similar "realistic" design!
GoW: Kratos's redesign is kinda the definition of character development, was pretty surprised back then when GoW (2018) came out and how Kratos looked, but I was not disappointed!

My favorite video game character redesigns are from Mortal Kombat IX, X, and XI.
Especially the main cast from the first two classic MK games.

You mean back when he was the war loving and blood thirsty god of war back in Greece? I liked him that way too. The Norse version of him makes him look weak and gloomy. I will always like the Greek version of him the most. Maybe it was better if they just stopped at GOW 3 and left well enough alone.

In my opinion, I love the new Kratos so much. Some God of war fanbase are split on the new Kratos but they did them right in the Norse games, but the only great with Ragnarok is the length of the story.
I prefer old school Lara and it's not because of her boobs but for me she has a artistic design and a badass personality that makes her a better incarnation of the character.
Yeah she stood out more and was brash. Didn't look like anyone else.
@@BJGvideosagreed and what Crystal Dynamics is doing to her now is atrocious as they’re making Lara more of a protector of artifacts instead of a Tomb Raider which is literally a fancy way of saying a grave robber and she’s also less brash an greedy which also sucks as she was designed as kind of like an anti hero of sorts who only did heroic deeds if it aligned with her interests atm.

love both designs of wario in his series showing off his strength/underrated smarts and care as tbh outside the transformations/captain syrup(especially her re-design with her octopus earrings/skull belt.) way prefer warioware over land though love to see them mix seeing the ware crew adventure with wario.
like 4 tawna though kinda wish we saw her met normal tawna with how she just disappeared in the original trilogy after 1.
dk(love the kongs with how surprisingly like with wario in depth their world gets.:3)/diddy(who is that to dk jr. when nintendo and rare were going to decide how to use him.) and mario really do have great re-designs.
going to be honest prefer original lara croft over remake as it got way too brutal to an unsettling creepy degree.
compared to the other mk designs where i like 9 the most reptile was awesome in the 2nd reboot.
agree with you guys toon link's the best link as he actually has a actual personality compared to the "realistic" links(also a useful awesome zelda that's still the best version/memorable ganon) & wish we'd get another console game of him.
while i feel bad he had to be wrecked to be accepted when i didn't think he was that bad(snake just should've been playable with him instead of being cutscene only after the prologue/side alternate story.) do love cyber raiden with how superhuman to even more than snake levels he gets(especially stopping a fully armed,mount rushmore of revolver ocelot's devotion crush to big boss tanker by himself.).
really loved 2018 kratos as while not the best hack n slash games/star(still goes to dante & bayonetta.:3) i really cared for him and his bonds with his son that i'd love to see them go to other eras in a primal esque journey.
Remake and Remastered characters
I don't thik we can call Raiden's a redesign. It's the same character, same series, same timeline. That's just an evolution of his.

Marth, Celica, Ike, Roy had great redesigns.
Doomguy in 2016 and Leon in Re4 had a better redesign and og God of war creator hated the redesign in 2018 version.

7:51 I really wish to play the metal gear solid games with far more simplified mechanics on modern platforms with new graphics and a remaster of MG RISING for Nintendo, PS4 and PS5 cause I have those consoles in my house

I liked Lara Croft more in Tomb Raider Anniversary. She killed only one person in Aniversary with a scene following where she immediately regrets it. The new Lara becomes a stealthy killer pretty soon in the game. Too brutal.

Nah I still think of the greek version
I like Lara’s classic look a lot more cuz it shows she had attitude and the blue tank top is a lot more distinguishable than the grey tank top she was given in 2013. Her design showed that she had attitude and played by no one’s rules and that if she wanted something she would stop at nothing in order to get the artifact she wanted. If anyone says that her classic design solely existed to make guys horny then you’re clearly missing the point as Classic Tomb Raider has a lot of female fans as well who see that version of Lara Croft as a role model due to her adventurous and take no crap from anyone attitude.
Wario was never redesigned- it’s just a change of clothes
I am glad Lara from TR is on here. I know a bunch of horny guys were mad because they made her proportions more realistic, but I loved the way they updated her look and the feel of the games. Also, I love the updated Kitana look for MK1. Before, she had an ambiguous look (ethnicity wise) and they made her look like she had plastic surgery. Now, she looks clearly east Asian with better proportions for a woman who is a fighter and a Princess.
If you’re solely calling Lara’s look “horny” you’re missing the point it was meant to show she had attitude, was brash, and didn’t take crap from anyone and essentially played by her rules as she would not hesitate to mow someone down if they got in the way between her and an artifact. The issue that fans are having with what Crystal Dynamics is doing to her is that they’re trying to make her more heroic and a “protector of artifacts” even though the phrase Tomb Raider is just a fancy way of saying a grave robber which is what she essentially and she was also more of an anti her who did do some heroic things but only if they aligned with her interests at the time.

Didn't Toon Link have a lot of controversy on his appearance? It certainly didn't help that Nintendo showed a more realistic Link with their Game Cube demo but made this game instead.
About Raiden’s design, i disagree. I prefer Raiden has a human rather than a cyborg because its looks out of place. Don’t disrespect Sons of Liberty because Raiden guys.

Instant dislike
The only one i disagree with is Lara Croft. She was awful. I love the more sophisticated badass older Lara. Young Lara entire trilogy arc was so bad. Her character beats never felt like she truly grew.
Sorry but Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom Link has the best redesign. You get a dislike for picking THE WRONG CHOICE.
