Tomb Raider 2013 rocks. It's exactly how an action game should be made. 3rd person view, stealth, quick pacing, rewarding exploration, interesting but logical puzzles, easy to solve, realistic enemies, what's not to like ? Another game that is using the same formula is Days Gone.
I know I've blown my Metroid love all over the Internet at this point, but I can't say enough good things about Metroid Dread! I just recently 100 percented another playthrough, on hard for the first time. I used to just play through Metroid games with whatever supplies I found along the way. Now, however, it just feels wrong to not find every item...
Assassin's Creed Origins, Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Metroid Dread, Resident Evil 7, Street Fighter 6, Shadow of Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider 123 Remastered Trilogy, Mario VS. Donkey Kong, Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Prince of Persia comes to my mind when i'm thinking about of The 10 Games that revitalized a Franchise. There was Prince of Persia The Lost Crown in this list, what a coinsidence I just bought it in yesterday only as a 30€ the Perfect Price. I've been heard there's coming a new Rogue-like Prince of Persia game, how's that possible in the Same Year? 😮😊
I would say maybe "Digimon World Re:Digitize", since it went back to the original Digimon World formula of the original Virtual Pets and also made the franchise evolve to a more teen/young adult demographic. But it's still a Japanese exclusive in both the original version as well as the Decode version. "Digimon All-Star Rumble" on the other hand, was made as a way to test if western audiences still cared about the Digimon videogames; which made them officially localize "Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth" which is now the best selling Digimon game to date (that's including "Hacker's Memory"); as well as Digimon World Next Order, which just like Re:Digitize it retains the original World formula.
AC Origins The first time I played it, I uninstalled it inmediatly because it didn't have the essence from og ac games I gave it a second chance and it became my 3rd favourite ac game. BlackFlag and Revelations are my top 2
@@argeniscanez9503 It makes no sense why there wouldn't be. If Spyro and Crash both got remade why would Spyro not also get a sequel? I blame Activision for wasting stupid time on CoD crap and other useless shit. We may of had a sequel by now if it weren't for that.
Donkey Kong Country Returns yes. But not the other ones. Although it's true that the Mario and Zelda series were a bit stagnant by no means they needed to be revitalized.
@@r.c.c.10 That's what I meant by "Revitalizing." Wasn't choosing my absolute favorite games of the respective series' or focusing on games that "Needed" revitalizations. Never said Zelda needed a revitalization, but BotW did any breathe lots of life for the better. And eventually lead to TotK. Super Mario Bros Wonder was the first true brand new classic side-scrolling SMB title that either wasn't a watered down rehash of a predecessor or a "Super Mario Maker". Which was an excellent innovation, but still felt more like intended to be a spinoff tool to make your own levels rather than a brand new game. Super Mario Odyssey; did bring new life that was never thought needed. Added much bigger worlds to explore at will and places to mess around for fun that the galaxy titles sort of missed while also still making big and better gimmicks. If I wanted to maybe focus on the "Need" for revitalization, perhaps I should have said Twilight Princess for Zelda, because it was released when the LoZ series was going through the same phase Fire Emblem was before Awakening. And more specific, the TTYD remake is a true revitalization for the Paper Mario series after the not so positive receptions of Sticker Star, Color Splash, and Origami King.
@@zachtwilightwindwaker596 Revitalizing doesn't specifically refer to saving a struggling franchise. It just means to "Breathe new life and evolve it" regardless of whether or it was doing well. Maybe the video should have been named, "10 games that resurrected a franchise." Read my other comment, but perhaps if I said Twilight Princess and later down the like Paper Mario TTYD remake.
it never needed a revitalization. the Greek canon had such a perfect ending that the Norse follow-up was entirely unnecessary and was generally created for the same reasons as the Greek canon: to make more money from people who can't discern between mythology and fantasy.
HAH! Sonic Mania was likely on Honorable Mentions because Sega keep fumbling on quality control no matter what & they've been constantly milked the series to death which is why nowadays, GalaxyTrail's Freedom Planet series what Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog don't. Though it's a shame that Mega Man 11 likely in Honorable Mentions because Capcom likely waiting for a time when Nintendo finally make a 4K console just so they'll finally make MM12(With a playable Protoman & Bass this time unlike MM11) or MMX9(Hopefully none of the bullshit of the series' 2nd half).
Not sure why a lot of people were upset by the new Prince of Persia game. You can even play the game in Persian which I totally did. I like the fact that in Doom 2016 blood can cover the walls. You could look back and be like "Holy shit!". Origins revitalized the franchise? Well it did give us an ancient Egyptian setting. It was also the last Assassin's Creed game I actually completed. I played Unity not too long ago and have a pretty solid experience. Just stay away from the co-op missions. They are broken. I had issues with not being able to use my weapon and my enemies also just stare back menacingly with their swords out. I could only escape by running away which usually results in me getting shot. What is that glowing armor in Origins? I don't think I got that. 6:48 The damage number (NOICE). I like the fact that permadeath is optional. I didn't get a 3DS for Fire Emblem. That was for Ocarina of Time 3D. We might get a remake of Metroid Prime 2 and 3 but I don't think 4 is ever coming out. Resident Evil 4 was still scary with the Regenerators.
Here's another game that I love that revitalized a game franchise and my best and favorite game is Kirby and the Forgotten Land and it's one of the best Nintendo Switch games ever.
Too bad Tomb Raider 2013 dropped almost everything that made the series unique and instead became more like Uncharted. Lara also got downgraded, in more ways than one.
I'm missing God of War. The God of War from 2018 really showed maturity and growth, which is something that most of the fans of the franchise really can relate to. We were young, fiery when the first games came out and we grew into adults and old adults with the new games. Ragnarok and Valhalla really hit it home for me and Kratos grew from an edgy, despicable psychopath in the first games to a mature adult, accepting things he can't change, really capturing how difficult it is to let the children leave the nest, meanwhile accepting that he also grew into a character with redeemable qualities. For me, it's an almost perfect reflection of life and how experiences change you.
Not to Mention Sonic Frontiers literally saved the Sonic franchise from going extinct after the failures of the 2010’s era of Sonic releasing bad to mid games like Colors, Lost World and Forces and Frontiers Saved the franchise cause the higher ups of Sega said that if Frontiers Failed then it would be the last Sonic Game!
missing, metal gear 5, 2018's god of war, zelda breath of the wild and final fantasy 16, all of these revitalized the franchise by going to a new genre or level.
Better than Odyssey? How much better? I ask because I recently play Odyssey and couldn't stand it after about 10 hours. The gameplay wasn't good in my opinion but other things were pretty good
I like both MK 9 and MK 11 (XL). Both of these games are really great when it came to upgrading the graphics as well as bringing value to the story on each one.
While Doom, Tomb Raider and Resident Evil 7 were all great, I have to say my favorite is Metroid Dread as the game that revitalized the series that i had loved the longest that I felt had fallen the farthest.
Too bad Crystal Dynamics couldn’t keep up the momentum of the 2013 reboot with it’s two sequels. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was a really weak game, in my opinion.
That Prince of Persia game has NOT revitalized the franchise. The Lost Crown is not what long time fans want. Can we finally just get the Sands of Time remake??? 2:38

Origins did not revitalise the series at all. Decent game yes but literally everything that has come out since has been awful and the origins engine and gameplay is a big reason as to why the series sucks now.
