1/4 saw a perfect Log

Some logs are so perfect, you have to choose what you mill them into very carefully. This is one of those logs. A perfect log makes perfect clear lumber. No knots and no blemishes. We have such a log. We are going to quarter saw this log. Come along and watch as perfect lumber comes from this log.

Miss Tilly only hangs around Tim's mill. That's her allowed area to run. My mill sits back a ways from the house's. Knot free 1/4 sawn. Doesn't get any better!

@@TwobrothersoutdoorsNow I remember what I was going to say...for an unusual quarter sawing check out surviving maine on a 20 acre farm. He has a circular mill in conjunction with a big lathe for making quarter sawn clapboards. I think the video is a couple years old.

We can call I 2x flip flop 😏 what was nice all the flitches were basically in two sizes. Easy to clean up

As Paul Harvey, the radio news reporter, would say, “ and now for the rest of the story.” I’ve been contemplating buying this second ash log. Three days ago I made the decision, not practical for me at this time. Even so, watching this log get milled into lumber was emotion for me!

I literally said on the video, if you called for this other log it would kill me, not because of the sale but because of the master piece heirlooms you turn those logs into. I wish we had met 25 years ago.
