    You did about the best job I've seen at getting a straight, perpendicular cut to halve the log. I've seen some guys just butcher a log when doing that step. Have you ever tried one of the chainsaw brackets with alignment boards like those sold by Gempler or Northern Tool? Just wondering if they would actually work for halving a big log. Thanks for posting the video!

      Thank you. I have always done it by hand without a guide. I think the guide might help, but when using the longer bars I think it would just be cumbersome.
