Buns Have RUINED MY HAIR 😩 Now I Have To CUT IT OFF | CUTTING My EXTREMELY DAMAGED HAIR 😱

- Hi Beauties! In today's video I am taking you to visit the salon with me. Even-though I am a cosmetologist, I still HATE to do my own hair! My favorite hair stylist to visit is Samantha from Scales Studios here in Atlanta, she always takes really great care of my hair and makes sure to keep my split ends in check! It's been about 3 months since my last trim and I had a LOT of damaged ends so I am visiting Scales Studios today for a honey moisture treatment and a fall bob hair cut.
Please thumbs up this video and subscribe of you like it!

My father told me and my sisters to trim our hair in the spring when the flowers bloom and in the fall when the leaves fall. So I trim my hair in April and Oct on certain days. And my hair is long way past bra strap
My grandmother just told this last year. I had never heard it before.
Well now your father just taught me something as well.. Amazing how our parents wisdom can flow and help others
This exactly what I do trim 2x a year in April and October.
I’m going to try this great idea
What specific days do you trim your hair?
People CANNOT be afraid to trim your hair when it's necessary! The hair looks so much healthier...
I agree! I just cut off 3 inches. I have to pull my hair back and in a bun for work. A short style is better for me.
It grows faster once you let that hurt go & you have that dead weight lifted off of your shoulders
Right away it did!!!!!
I don’t mind a few split ends...nothing terrible but when my hair is freshly cut blunt it won’t curl. This woman’s hair looks amazing after and the stylist only took off what was needed
💯💯💯
I totally get why she cut "where" she did... when she placed the white towel under the hair, it was short right in the middle up to that point. If she hadn't cut where she did, the breakage/split ends at that point in the middle would have continued to split up the shaft. Itll grow back faster plus was cute, moisturized and bouncy not to mention healthy.
I like your friends hair! The cut and colour is really pretty.
Lu Ash thank u! She’s so edgy isn’t she! 😍
What brand flat iron do you use?
Keeping my hair in ponytails did major damage to my hair and I was almost at waist length but I’m so ready to get it cut off and this was the boost I needed, your hair is so pretty
mizzmama79 thank you!! And YES getting those damaged ends off as soon as possible is super important because those split ends can travel all the way up and make you hair even more damaged 😩
mizzmama79 thank you!! And YES getting those damaged ends off as soon as possible is super important because those split ends can travel all the way up and make you hair even more damaged 😩
heynowhey wearing ponytails often especially in the same spot can weaken your hair from the tension of ponytail holders
@lepetitemonstre twist outs, wash n go’s and braid outs are good and ponytails are still ok as long as they’re loose and you change the positions often because it can also pull your hairline back
And I love it too it is beautiful if I lived in Atlanta I will come and get my hair fixed yes I would I love that hairdresser she did a wonderful job and my hair is natural also raised I have to I don't have full one hair help and with my hair kind of a thin and because I'm a older person but I love the way she did your hair.
Stylist “ like a fall cut”
Lanna “yea “
Lanna “wait what”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Anijah jones 😂😂😂 I was expecting to get a trim but not a whole damn CUT cut 😩😭
It needed it and looked healthier afterwards!!
Yes those ends really needed to go she did an awesome job and you still have a head full of healthy hair
I love her shop set up! Very clean , cozy and well organized!
I love when the hairdresser wash and massages 💆my scalp soo relaxing
Agreed!!
The client kind of looks like the girl who played Derwin's girlfriend after he cheated on Melanie on the BET tv show...The Game.
@Virginia Williams I thought the same thing!
She DOES resemble her...
Janae!! Yesss
True!!!
I felt that pain when she said blunt bob that’s when you know you messed up but she was not scissor happy and you still had length it turned out beautiful 🤩
Around 22 minutes in, it looked SOO good. Idk why so many young girls go with those big church lady curls. A straight, precise cut is so much cooler (imo).
You’re one the prettiest people I’ve ever seen. And I love your vibe. I shifted consciousness 😂
Awww thank you so much!! 🥰💗
Pretty women
When i found out how to take care of my hair properly in a bun, it became my protective style. My hair is healthy and it's mid back length.
What is the proper way to take care of your natural hair in a bun?
Please share how you care for your bun protective style. 🙏
Same for me. Making sure the bun isn’t tight, and moisturizing regularly keeps the hair healthy underneath.
I wash and deep condition once a week, i do a protein treatment 2x a month= mayo, honey, egg, olive oil. This protein treatment strengthens and moisturizes so it's safe for your hair.
After i was and deep condition i apply ogx miracle oil, and i don't add any other products because my hair is moisturized so i just seal it in and put my bun in. Daily i add the ogx oil and water, but not too much. I never do my bun too tight, nor do i do it too loose. I make sure to oil my hair really well on the rubberband part.
I massage it 3x a week with my diy hair growth oil, especially the sides of my hair because the ponytail will pull your sides out.
I also switch up and use aloe vera gel and rosemary oil. I massage this in my scalp and apply to my ends. I trim every 6-8 weeks. I hope this is helpful and please customize to what makes your hair thrive.
@@frank15901 i shared it! I hope its helpful
Very nice cut. Your hair looks so much healthier!
When you trim your hair your hair looks and feels thicker and it is bouncy when it has spit ends it is lifeless
Makes me wanna leave NY and make a hurr appointment 🙌🏽
They do it VERY different down here. I’m from NJ and I was used to getting doobies w/ roots blown out until they burned all my hair off lol! If you decide to come visit, hit my girl Sam up! Her link is in the description 💕
This was so satisfying to watch her technique washing, parting, just how she handled it all the way thru!! Thanks for sharing.
This is a real thing buns have broken my hair off so badly
Why are buns breaking hair? I'm scared now
@@Daysdana thank you for this.
@@yasminlucky7939 yes that is what it is the elastics are tight and sometimes I keep my buns up without remoisturizing my hair. 😔
@@ashleyreyna9100 aaww I'm sorry. But you still beautiful!
@@yasminlucky7939 aww thank you love 😊
i love it 2. so no more crying. its just hair and itll grow back, until it doesnt.
I only wear buns & ponytails when I go out to run errands, and they’re never worn tight. At home, my hair stays out - loose & free or in a high puff with a very, very loose cloth band around it. No problems or damage whatsoever to my hair. Buns & ponytails can ruin the hair if you live in them, never switching styles or freeing the hair.
Yes...I usually get LAZY and wear my hair in one style without moisture for too long🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
The hair trim really made your hair look nice.
Thank you!! Sam does an amazing job! 💗
Man that’s why I stopped bunning it’s cute but gives tension on your hair so I braided up for some months and my grew so much
Its not the buns, its you not protecting your ends.
Hi. How do you protect your ends? Thanks.
I’m only half way so I’m going to keep watching before asking anymore questions 😂
You did a beautiful job! She still has long hair!
I smiled at the end like she just finished doing my hair. I love it!
my first reaction was "where's your mask?!" but then saw the date
trauma
😭😭💀
. Trimming doesn’t make your hair grow. You wouldn’t need to trim but once or twice a year if you get a regimen for your hair porosity, hair type and density. Properly moisturizing is how you retain length. Trimming when needed is how you maintain healthy hair. Trimming every 6-8 weeks with bad regimen is why black women can’t see growth because you’re cutting your new growth literally every visit to the salon. I’m a natural stylist. Most my clients hair is thick and healthy and they say I have growing hands. Really it’s just I help their hair not break anymore 🤷🏽♀️ .
She needed to have you stand or raise her chair more for the cut. She was tall.
it isn't necessarily the style that ruins your hair it the the way you care for your hair that ruins it. When you have a very strong understanding to what your hair needs you will be able to really care for it.
Examples can include stuff like :Not everyone can really wait every three months or six months or even twice a year before getting a trim. (i see this tooo many times) when you are going to do a style like braids leaving them in for six months is not a good idea at all nor is keeping lace fronts in for 3 or six months either.
most importantly when you hair grows really uneven and beautician shows you exactly what they mean stop being so damn terrified to cut it, they only that is going to happen is that its going to get worse
Oh girl I could see all the irritation in your face. I just keep taking bit by bit off mine bc I have a part in my hair that was like your and I refuse to cut all for that spot so I cut a little at a time praying it will all catch up. It is very pretty on you and looks so healthy.
It was very difficult to see what you were doing here. The background is dark. Her hair is black. Both back covers and robes are black. Your audience can't see how you are cutting and styling.
Great cut but I think i would have seen it better if you used a different color cape besides black.
They asked why do they only make the capes in black.
Ah watching damaged hair being cut off is so satisfying it looks so good, trimming it every once every 6 months works well
I never understand ppl being under the steamer with their hair covered up, a dryer yes; but not a steamer. How is it going to penetrate the cuticle for the conditioner to go in?!
It steames the towel which is on the head protecting it to minimize damage so the towel is steamed to penitrate the treatment on the head
I see she's lefthanded..🤔
lol! Lets let them be great🤐
I don’t get it ?
A little rehab that made me smile. I knew when she said it was going to be a lot of ends. Congrats, tho you look beautiful.
Both of you are gorgeous! Oh, she didn’t want to 💇🏾 your hair😊
Question for anyone: why does hair split so much more in one spot than evenly all over?
Maybe that area had more manipulation or tension than the other areas over a. Of time
For me I found out it’s because my “bad” section is lower porosity than the rest of my hair, so my normal products weren’t moisturizing it the way they should have been.
When I had this issue it was mainly struggle buns/puffs. I would leave those styles in for days and it would get packed in in those areas and break when I’d finally detangle it.
I love healthy hair your friend did a great job
That cut wasn't necessary in my opinion. This blunt cut look is a hairstylist trend at the moment. Cute, but unnecessary. Most of the hair cut wasn't damaged. Oh well...
mini me I don’t think the point was that it was damaged. The point was she had breakage and the stylist wanted to make it all even. I’ve definitely been there before and it looks kinda silly to have one part broken off and shorter than the rest. Especially if it’s noticeable like hers was
@@ablaze5871 Okay. Makes sense
Don’t know what you were looking at,! The stylist did a great job! She is one who cares about the health of the hair and not just the style for the day! Need more stylists like her!
@@ablaze5871 agree....👍🏼
Cute results 🌸 thanks for sharing! I had to break up w/pony tails, they break my hair like this ☹️
Is she frowning?
She's really rationing those products👀👀
Njoki K 😂😂😂 I think she just didn’t want to weigh my hair down because it’s already thick
Did she even put heat protector
😂
Her hair was already heavy! Meaning very thick ! A lot of product, doesn’t mean healthy🤫
I agree. Usually when you get a silk press they wash your hair several times and use a lot of deep conditioner to replace the lost moisture. She was light handed with the products.
Why does Sam not have a UA-cam?? I’d watch her all the time
I love it! I love how she curled it so that it still looked long. And she's so cute :)
Nice!!! Giving me Tatyana Ali vibes♥️
Lawd I love buns! My hair is probably broken off too😬
Great job. Good cut and cute w/o compromising length. Nj-usa
There is nothing more beautiful than black hair no shade but especially 4c hair once you learn to care for it you fall in love with it ... But this title is misleading she didn't even lose no hair ...
I love when the people in the chair say “it’s just hair”, lol, that declaration is for you sis..we already ready to see it get cut. It’s pretty ❤️
scrunchies and phonecord style hair ties are the best!!! I never see hair strands tied around them when I take them out
OMG I learned this the hard way! When I was in high school I was on the drill team and those tight buns they always wanted our hair in KILLED my hair🤣 But I was so used to the damage that by the time my mom found out and forced me to cut it off I was already emotionally unattached 🤣
I cringe when the hair is being pulled by the round brush and hair dryer, that is one thing I don't enjoyed when going to a salon. It feels like it's going to pull the hair out of your head. Her hair does look nice and healthy.😊
I agree! I hate when they use so much tension and rake the brush through the hair! I just think about all the little ends just snapping off! Her hair did look great after the cut though.😊
I was kinda confused, so she put a mask, steamed your hair, shampoo and put a little conditioner, detangled and steamed it again. Did you feel like enough moisture was added to your hair before the blow dry process?
THANK YOU on the not enough moisture before the blow dry process..she barely covered all of it!
She did an amazing job. Super professional. Very detailed.
Same! Took me 5 years to realize buns weren’t my friend. Horrible protective style for me, even when I moved them from top to middle to bottom. Hair broke off badly.
ok she also did great lol lots of bounce
She did a Great and Amazing Job
Your hair looks so pretty and shiny! New subscriber due to your charming personality 🤗
Your hair came out beautiful and you look great overall. I love the short curly bob.
Let go of wat ? She cut such a small amount LOL. Its guna grow back longer with these dead ends gone
Bedroom vibes......😳
Super weird I just clicked on this video and the lady who did your hair has the same name as myself and my daughters name is Alonna. I was like whoah
Lol omg!!! That’s so crazy! 😂
The shrinkage while wet was shocking!
I’m like dam she got some long hair lol that trim talk be a surprise like oh word I ain’t think it was that bad lol
God loves you
Did yall see the commercial before the video with POP SMOKE IN A MOVIE
With a trim and good conditioners, we can't go wrong! Her hair is beautiful and healthy now....Good job Ms. Lady!!
Amazing hair cut !!!

you went to cosmetology school? hair and make up go hand in hand, you went a whole year without a trim?! Girl you have beautiful hair! Nonetheless results are beautiful ♥️
After the trim, your hair had life. Simply beautiful. 😍❤
Your hair definitely needed that cut it will be back to where it was in no time at all.
I can’t stand when stylists add curls. Why? Other than that she did a Great job.
i detest curls as well
Good hair dresser she's good at her job!!👍❤
Ok. I need a trim. Right NOW!
I’ve been using claw clips. Are those safer? Did she say?
That music is so relaxing. Like the hair style too.
Oh she is good with those scissors. I see some people cut crooked I'm like 😬
Please keep trimming every 8 weeks 🥺

This young lady does an amazing job at caring and treating Healthy Hair. But; there is No Way. Not for me I dont the patience. Im not natural and i do have stylist..i 💘 going to the salon but not to stay over 2 hrs. Wonderful job tho. God bless!
Thats silly
Her shop is so cute.
Y’all kill me. Be looking like all u do is smoke blunts and drink 40’s and strip at Club Nikki but open ur mouth tryna sound like Christina Onassis or Paris Hilton.. Bon Que Que stop.
Lol wow, arent you full of hate? 😂 now that you are blocked from commenting all you can do is watch from outside of the club 😭
How can I get my natural hair like that after blow drying? Send help
Its about tecnique and having a professional whose been doing them for a couple years do it ..ive been told by professionals that they cant tell you how to get a perfect silk press or blow out at home its bascially they know how to do it
Am I the only one who thought she cut to much off?
Yes
I didn't think she cut enough.... Holding on to dead dry ends for what??? Cut that shit off
@@ladonnagreham2343 for length..
I did too.
Such graceful work, and she even supports the hair while combing to keep from pulling it too hard at the sacalp.
