Right! They just want to tangle on up and rob us of our length. Color is the worse, as are relaxers when they are not properly maintained and cared for on a regular basis.
That blonde - light color had her ends damaged - The rest of the hair was healthy- You REALLY have to take care of your hair with color - Especially blondes - I learned the hard way
I dyed my hair after having my baby. My hair severely damaged. I wanted something different and boy didnt I get it. Hair fried and layed to the side. I need my hair cut like that or maybe more.
They say better to be healthy and short than long and damage! Trim your hair as often as you can and lots of hair masques, hot oil treatments, deep conditioner etc. I do my own hair
If you’re using a straightener and you have to stop to comb out the bottom part of the hair that’s a problem. She couldn’t even blow dry out her hair properly due to her raggedy ends. 🤦🏽♀️ short hair is not the end of the world.
Even after the cut the client still had a decent length of hair. The ends just had to go. Plain and simple. For folks arguing about it you're the one to keep that kryptonite hair saying you got length. When in reality your hair looks bad. Its lengthy but it doesn't look good cause those ends are thin and see through. Cut them off. It will only benefit you in the long run.
Wen ur ends b like that it kinda make the blow dry process a lil difficult n my opinion. Wen my hair was damaged it seem like Everytime a section was blow dried my hair wud tangle Bak up like it never been detangled.
Jadyn split ends will damage the entire shaft of hair if not trimmed. The splits move up the hair shaft and cause major breakage and unevenness. If she had left them longer, she’d have to trim way more than she did in this video
@@lethaturner9498 I'm fully aware, I was saying that I've seem stylist on here that do small sections but still do multiple passes on a small section of hair.
What people don’t understand is that holding onto ragged ends causes you to lose length thru breakage & damage. If she’d been getting regular trims, she wouldn’t have needed to get so much length removed to fix that mess.
I remember I used to hang on to my damaged ends but I made the decision to cut them off and my hair has been so healthy & just over all looks better now , best decision I’ve ever made. Her hair looks so full of life after 👌🏼
You can tell her ends are bad from how hard it was to blow dry her hair when you got to the ends. Lord. You are truly amazing and care for your clients hair!!!
I’ve never seen anyone have to comb out the ends while straightening hair. The ends were a tangled mess. She needed a trim a long time before this point.
All these hair stylists in the comments. Everyone’s hair isn’t the same. I trim my hair every 6-8 weeks. I have split ends all the time even with maintenance. Her hair looks amazing after the trim. I have grown my hair to below my bra band three times in ten years. Everyone’s hair growth rate is different. My hair grows nearly a full inch a month. Smh. Ppl are so crazy. The hair will grow back. Look how much damn hair she has!! 🤦🏽♀️
Is there anything in particular that’s causing split ends? I rarely use heat and I don’t use heat at all during the summer. That helped my ends at lot. The less heat I use the less often I need a trim. I straighten my hair every now and then.
La Original I never use heat! My hair is just very dry. It’s high porosity so it just has a tendency to be dry. I do what I can to mitigate that. Even when I was relaxed it was the same way. I actually trimmed my hair every 5-6 weeks then and it was still long and healthy. I stopped getting a relaxer bc my hair wouldn’t straighten anymore. I was even getting a super. I have super resistant hair.
I was an assistant at 1 of the busiest hair salons here in Atlanta back when I was in college and despite all the tons of heads I washed, blow-dried, etc ..... I’ve never seen ends that raggedy! Man! That’s crazy! Her ends had’nt been clipped in ages! I suspect not keeping her hair moisturized with that color is what broke it off like that. She still has a beautiful, course head of hair.
At first I was side-eyeing in the stylist because of the title of the video. But when she started straightening her hair and she had to recone the ends I was like oh no. and then I was like really doesn't look that bad but when she picked that hair I was like woah yeah I see why she had to cut it. Just Coke no I’m a relatively new stylist but today I left this girl’s dry kinky ends on and tried to go over it with an iron for the curl. Those ends said bye Felicia and and frizzed back up in minutes. I googled what went wrong. You actually have to cut them off for a silk press because they don’t cooperate. Now I know she wasn’t going to go for that trim but I should have offered it and let her know if she didn’t let me then no iron in the world was going to get it together. I did the daughter and another stylist did the mother. Same dead ends. Same result.
The same way alot of people keep broken men/broken women....When its time to let go, you gotta let it go....no matter how much you love it. It costs more to hold on to the things and/or people that are dead weight...😩 Her hair will thank her...
When the video first started I thought to myself " Oh her hair is beautiful". As the video progressed I realiZed that the colored ends were gonna have to be cut. I wasn't surprised by that at all. The client seemed to be more than ok with letting it go, which made this even better. By the end of the video I thought to myself "Her hair is beautiful"......

This was satisfying to watch. The only thing that bothered me was that she didn’t have a technique to cut the hair. She was just chopping all the ends with no shape to the hair. Idk maybe it’s just me.
I agree. With the cutting. From the angle that was caught the perimeter of the cut was uneven. The nap area was over directed. It works for her styling technique of loose curling and combing out though. Her clients seems to love it.
Right. That is what I was saying. I knew I could not have been the only one that recognized that. People are saying “well they was dead ends. The stylist was doing her job” but I was under the impression that you try to make the hair as even as possible when trimming.

I appreciate the fact you took extremely thin layers to straighten, which leaves less waves/crimps (I'm not sure of the proper term) in the strand of hair. The thicker the piece of hair you try to straighten, the less likely the proper heat/temperature can penetrate all the way through to the middle to provide a sufficiently straight strand. Beautifully done!

For the “naysayers,” about this cut. What Janay doesn’t include in her summary is that she no doubt spoke with her client and told her in order to achieve the healthiest starting point to grow her hair out, if that is her choice, she needed to have her over processed dead ends completely remove and move forward from there. She did a fine job.

We all know them ends are bad when we can’t get a comb through them
Right! They just want to tangle on up and rob us of our length. Color is the worse, as are relaxers when they are not properly maintained and cared for on a regular basis.
Oh...hi there. What's good? 👀
That blonde - light color had her ends damaged - The rest of the hair was healthy- You REALLY have to take care of your hair with color - Especially blondes - I learned the hard way

@@hdeniro1106 I agree.
Right!
If you’re using a straightener and you have to stop to comb out the bottom part of the hair that’s a problem. She couldn’t even blow dry out her hair properly due to her raggedy ends. 🤦🏽♀️ short hair is not the end of the world.

Exactly she really did not do a good job too me she did not
Agreed 👍
You use a detangler. She cut about 5 inches of her hair.
I always know I haven't had a good trim in a while when my hair gets super difficult to detangle. Freshly trimmed hair feels so much better.
Ikr!! I would have to cut my ends before even getting to flat iron it because it was just that bad
Facts
I don't have the eye for this I just figured she didn't flatiron her ends right
Sooo what ur sayin is...I need a trim again 😂
Her hair will probably be back to that length in like 3-4 months so it’s cool and the outcome was 🔥
Exactly!
Yes. People on here making mountains out of mole hills about the cut and it isn’t even their hair.
That’s a while, she could of grew instead of gained back length she already had
Jadyn split ends will damage the entire shaft of hair if not trimmed. The splits move up the hair shaft and cause major breakage and unevenness. If she had left them longer, she’d have to trim way more than she did in this video
What I’m saying is she should of been trimmed her hair so she wouldn’t of had to cut off all that length
Love how she does such small sections while flat ironing so she only has to do one pass instead of multiple.
That's what I was just thinking as I saw ur comment.
Because her hair is super thick it has to be done a little at a time divided into sections
@@lethaturner9498 I'm fully aware, I was saying that I've seem stylist on here that do small sections but still do multiple passes on a small section of hair.
She probably has it on a very high heat and is going slow. This video is sped up so it looks like she is going fast but she is probably going slow.

What people don’t understand is that holding onto ragged ends causes you to lose length thru breakage & damage. If she’d been getting regular trims, she wouldn’t have needed to get so much length removed to fix that mess.
I'm sure she gets trims it's that color that damaged her ends

Boy, I wish my hair would grow an inch every month. I'm lucky to get 3 - 4 inches per year.
Ellie Bellie I find that it grows even faster when I exercise more...more blood flow...
La Original split ends are natural dive it’s the oldest part of your hair. It gets drier and are more fragile. Even frizz is natural unfortunately 😩
Based on these comments I know a lot of y’all hair looks an absolute mess. Get those ends cut off guys.

Yeah, they were messed up.
Looked absolutely beautiful in the end!

Same thing I said!
You could see that it was damaged at the ends. Don´t worry it will grow back. It looks gorgeous and healthy now the hairdresser did a good job.

This was satisfying to watch. The only thing that bothered me was that she didn’t have a technique to cut the hair. She was just chopping all the ends with no shape to the hair. Idk maybe it’s just me.
If she were chopping her hair off, she would’ve gotten scissor happy and messed her hair up.
It did seem add Reckless huh? Like she just saw the lighter color and just chopped It Off. She looks so reckless

I noticed that as soon as I started wearing my hair up more and using light oils on the ends, it started retaining length so much better.
That or not combing your hair like you should. Some women like to finger detangle and it matts the hair up causing damage to the endes.
