- This event took place at the NWCI Training Center in Dupont, WA. It had participants battling to see who was the fastest sheetrock hanger in WA, with the winner walking away with $1000 and a chance to compete in the semi-finals.
They should have framed it crooked like in reality to actually make it a challenge
😂😂😂
Right lol.. You never know it might have been as I am pretty sure apprentices in the apprenticeship program framed these walls for the competition.
Like a Hoffman Home......you're right.
Hahah seriously
😂😂
Clever way of getting these guys to put up the dry wall in under an hour.
“Good show boys! We’re renting these office bays at $750 a month to local professionals. Pack your tools & grab a hot dog on your way out”👍
Exactly my thought… and they probably don’t even realise it.
When I get my house built I'm going to have framing olympics, sheet rocking olympics, roofing olympics, electrical and plumbing olympics too!
Lmao.
ahahah this comment wins
don't forget the cooking olympics lol
yes and you'll have the worst built house when it's all done
Hopefully doesn’t fall apart
It’s cool they did this in slow motion so the audience at home could follow along
Guy in maroon gets paid by the job while the guy in neon gets paid by the hour. 😂
Hard hats say union guys to me, bring a Spanish dude that works on a crew doing 2 houses a day
Spanish are so over rated. Theres just more of them here, most of the time they're fat and lazy, blisters and screws poking out everywhere.
That man knew exactly what he was doing from the sound of "go."
Yeah Alejandro planned it out perfectly and won!
Talk about getting your offices lined for free😂
Afterwards the "judge" says, "winner is unclear, meet back tomorrow in the other room for a redo😂
Lol. They spent $1,500 on $5k worth of labor.
They can have the next contest in my basement free of charge.
When you get pay by sheet and not hourly everyday is the Olympics
Now it’s time for Alejandro to start his own Olympics and collect sponsors, so he can test the supers on the job sites.
My hands and mouth dried up watching this video. Kept seeing that pack of water on the ground like dannnng that looks good rn!
Most I ever hung in an 8hr day was 49 12' 5/8 sheets. And yes they were all screwed off. It was not a hallway . sort of a setup like this in and out of some offices. I'm proud of it but will never do it again was dead for 2 days after lol And the foremen was like that just makes up for the days you didn't get your quto 😢 And it's not literally an 8 hour day. Take away Union break around 15 20 minutes. Bathroom breaks and 40 minute lunch or so.
Yea ok 😅
@@redeyez444 6 sheets an hour is nothing special 😂 on a single skin wall
@@TheRomanpolan yea yours for sure fall off the walls missed a few screws .
@@redeyez444 The only thing I miss is your mom 😂
@@TheRomanpolan clearly a child so I guess your boss did all the work you just watched like a small puppy.
La raza representamdo 💯💪🙌
Do they judge their screw patterns and depth of screws ?
Broken corners ??
Gaps between joints ??
Damn that guy with a black shirt and white stripe around his neck looks like me 😂😂 I had to rewind it and watch it again 😂😂
Now THAT was astounding............
Respect to u guys
Do they get extra points for covering electrical boxes?
If only they moved this fast when they are on the project. We would definitely meet our deadlines. Lol
If only you'd pay them enough. Get straight to the point, if they can get a job done fast and right, pay them the same amount they would've gotten had they taken a "normal" pace. Win-win for everyone.
@@drigocrews that’s skilled labor they get paid good
@IMABEAST191 lol tell me what's "good" for you and what state?
😂
@@drigocrews I’m an independent contractor I get paid what I want same should be for everyone else.
Wow, the guy in the brown hard hat is working it. Balling man.
I approached Tree work the same way, i likes to start with the most difficult Tree first so the ends was smooth sailing
Boss watching and wondering why don’t work this fast while at work !😂
Some of them do! I worked with winner on the job site and was the one who invited him to this event and that is how he works day in and day out and he is union!
busted right lol
how is this competition? i see collated guns with batteries everywhere, they are super quick, was it requirement for corded tools and perfect framing? even up competition?
This was cool to watch
I love it.
I new as soon as old buddy on the right went for a cut pice first. And finishing as he went.
Where do I sign up?
They all fired!
What drills do they use
Saben donde hacen esos consursos? O cómo participar?
Now they just need to work like that on the job! Countless times I would be waiting for drywall to be installed.
I'm a tile setter and a tile I tile a lot of projects that carpenters put together very fast and you can tell nothing to square and solid . Remember quality is better than quantity. I wouldn't want my house put together that fast that's when people cut corners.
Smart way to get a room done fast and on the cheap genius
BANGER. We need more!
That is great, hilarious. I thought every day was drywall Olympics at the job site.😂🎉😂
Is there a Special Olympics for drywall also? Or do they group them all together?
They are all grouped as special Olympics
I used to live on Anderson Ave in DuPont.
Proud of the Mexican always working hard d👌🏽
Looks fun
boss said you need to cut that time in half!
When I saw him start with cuts first I knew he was going to win
Right. It's funny because it looked like the other guys were off to a faster start due to the bigger sheets, but with his sheet all cut up he blew the competition out of the water.
They all did, they meassured the height way before it started and the studs.
How do I sign up for this??
My boss would’ve walked in and said “what have you guys been doing for the last hour?”
你們的第一名在台灣封板的速度是正常的師傅⋯⋯⋯⋯真輕鬆也好做
True I see and I work in Taiwan before...this guy in video is only for show real life nothing ....hahahhah sorry guys...Asian here...
Tofu dreg work does not count
Amigo!!! 👏🏾
Rule nr1:
This is cool!! Can we get something like this in Texas?
Aquí el california somos más lentos 🤣
Had music playing cuz they were probably cursing up a storm.😂
Is this in the 80s cords on screew guns. Hand the ceiling know that would impress by yourself with 33 recessed lights
Is there a hole house plumbing contest
Nice.... now lets see you do that for 8 to 10 hrs a day/6 days a week
I know Alejandro can and does as he runs all over the job site, hanging and framing.
Just like that they got these bots to drywall the new office building for free
Not one beer or a dozen joints later anywhere😭
Whats taking them so long???
My thoughts and condolences are with the sap who had to stock them all with drywall the night before
Exciting, like watching the installation of the wall on which paint dries.
Off course no body is running on construction site except selfemployed who is payed by job. But we should have more of such a competitions to teach young generation that this is worthy to be good at work.
It always works in both sides. If you want to be good payed, be good at work. If you are good at work but boss doesn't want increase salary... kick him in ass and go to someone else!
But if U R lazy man not thinking at work and wasting time and materials...
You guys, next competition is next month at my place. $1500 prize. Must bring your own drywall and screws. each man gets two rooms of the house.
We not hanging the lid first?
Contractors watching saying " work faster anf I'll pay you 1$ more"
I remember coworker and i 179 sheets 5/8 4×9 carpenters 1506
I started at $7.00 a sheet @17 years of age ,I now make $23 a sheet. I only do commercial or new housing developments.
Is there a finishing Olympics?
@Nicball505 Yes, I'm glad you ask. Nightly, in every College dorm in America. 😆😆😆
This is no Olympic event. This is just a union job site. One guy doing the work and the rest just watching. 😅
Lmao the first song "fortnite better give me my kids back"
Great! Now when is the crack smoking portion of the event?
Why are they laying them upright?
Where is the beer?!!
These guys definitely don’t get paid by the hour.
I call a foul, not one water bottle with cigarettes floating in it was left inside the wall.
Should have them installing 16' boards by themselves on a ceiling.
😂 I'll never forget those days.
Gotta love wallboard!
That sounds terrifying
they drywall everything with 1000$$ good price 😂
This ain’t carpentry, this is Lego building. You wanna see some carpenters, check out the 1800s.
I'm hosting this event in my basement next year 2024.
They call it the “drywall olympics” but really those judges just needed new offices finished out.
He know how to run that screw gun for real 7:44
What did first place win ?
$1000 not bad for 39 minutes of work lol
@@jeffslegacy nice
they make so much money they start their own olympic games
"olympics": a new way of getting some storage units dry walled in record time for a fraction of $ 😂
Ah the Sheetrock guys,
Cue in the extension cords everywhere,
Monsters,
Pee bottles,
Clogged up urinals,
Jalapeño tails on the ground,
Straight scum of the site.
Believe that.
Definitely an electrician, the hate is real lol
You must be the guy that walks around all day doing nothing then leaves at 3 on the dot.
😂😂
this dude is 100% a laborer at jobsites🤣🤣🤣🤣
You must be an electrician that complains worse than a taper haha
Lot of work for a 1000
where's the part where they stand around and look at their phones for 25 min after break?
They really just drywalled a whole living room wall in 14minutes smh lol
they all seem slow to me... you guys have to see my Mexican guys, those are at another level
When there’s nothing left but drywall I kindly add to be sent to the next one or give me my checks
This should be U16 or the Beginners stage
Everyone knows this would be mariachi music playing on a job.
Cowboys with nail bags and all the gear .sadly no idea . Hope there not on price
Do they have this event for painters?
Sadly no because all of the painters were either sitting on a barstool drinking beer or they couldn’t get a ride to the site because of the 4 DUI’s they have on their records.
@@ryanm2637 i don't have any DUI's lol
@@joshwarner3926. Me either. But I’m going to just guesstimate that about 80% of us do. 😂.
Y’all can have the next competition at my unfinished basement no problem. My address is…
why no screw gun?
Each participant had both a corded and cordless screw gun at their disposal. They were not allowed to use their own though, which sucked because the corded Alejandro was using was working like crap so he decided to switch back to his cordless to screw off the sheets.
Lul when ya need an extra 5 rooms hung quick.
Drywall comp come sign up! First place is this bag of tools the framing competition guys left!
Mudding competition following the hanging one so stay tuned!
All Mexican baby!!!
I think its more sad that im at work watckn guys work on the same stuff i do fml
damn, they never seen quebec carpenters
Why? Whats wrong w quebec carpenters.
Yo ima need to borrow them real quick need my house re done should only take a hour ;)
Pocas palabras y mucha acción 👏 por que aqui en mi rancho hay puros habladores
Now you see who want to go home first to their wife 🎉😂
