See i dont know anything about any of this, but his way of explaining things is so simple and to the point that it made sense to me. I can just tell he knows what he's doing, and even the way he doesn't boast, rather, he says for example that he knows what hes doing is quite sloppy.. but that he's doing it the right way, the simple way, and in the scenario where time wasn't a constriction he could do the best flawless work imaginable, and he will not brag about it because he's humble and knowing of his ability. I do not know when, but im sure some of these tricks will be useful for me in the future, or even the simple thought process behind the birth of some these tips such as the scrap board marker has been planted into my mind and could pose useful in totally unrelated works.
Well done.. folks that are really and truly confident have no need to boast or brag.. you strike me as the kind who need not words for your actions say it all. Fine job and A+ for the quick and to the point explaining!
I feel so dumb. I used to stretch with my pencil. First short I saw I wanted to find fault and say something because I did rock, mud, and plaster for years. In my mind no one had better ideas than me. You do amazing work and even with my experience you've shown me a better way more than once. The scrap board chalk marker for ceiling joists? I'm embarrassed that never clicked for me
I've been a drywall finisher for over 35 yrs . Now if you are going too hand finish it that's fine but I'll save you some time on wipeing down your tape, use an 8 inch blade on your flats put the mud on horizontal, then put the tape on, then wipe down starting from the middle. Now with the corner don't use two blades use your 6inch blade same method with mud on with the side of the blade going up vertical put tape on then wipe or you can use what we call a meatball roller to apply the mud try this and your speed will double because your not going back too wipe the edges
I think this visit was dam good bro. My only criticism is that you move fast as hell but I was able to capture most of what you were explaining and showing. I can tell you really know your stuff and I have heard of great carpenters as you seem to be. Thanks for the video bro. I will definitely be tuning in to more of your videos going forward.
I should be getting ready for bed, but I just love watching you at work. I really don't understand the measuring and cutting. What's enjoyable is wtaching you doing so expertly. I'd have laughed at friends and family if they told me watching you at work would become compulsive viewing!
SD 5000-A22 is the new version, I have the older one the same the guy is using in the video and it is worth it’s weight in gold. You are not locked into buying screws from hilti. I use off brand screws every day. There are a couple of cheaper brands of screws that get jammed in the gun but the majority of reputable dealers make strips that work fine in this gun. If you are fitting drywall as a career a hilti collated screw gun is the best investment you can make in my opinion. Mine has paid for itself many, many times over

Exactly. He gets paid by the hour. I've never seen anyone Not work top to bottom. Cover all openings and cut them out after you hang it. From the ceiling down. Rip an inch off the bottom piece and let the trim cover it. This dude just went around his asshole to get to his elbow
Nice video, but plasterboarding is easy when other workers (painters) are following to “hide” the imperfections and house owners are the ones to experience the cracks showing after a while… 1) who says the underlaying structure in old houses is plane and ready to fix plasterboards on? And does the structure meet the boards’ mounting requirements? 2) why not put in insulation in all walls? Makes a difference in sound transmission 3) is it OK not to have an underlaying structure on the short edges of the plaster panels? Could very well be the difference between a good and a bad result in plaster boarding. 4) when working with plaster boards in wet rooms (bathrooms with required ventilation), shouldn’t you be putting in plastic folio (dont know the name for it) behind the plasterboard to not get moist inside the organic structure? 5) did you support the inside corner with a structure all along? Orherwise it’s likely to crack in the seam… Like the video concerning the plasterwork, but be carefull when thinking long term 😅
🤣🤣🤣 that was the most ass backwards process ever. Not hanging over the opening and just cutting it out? Whaaaat... Not pushing the first wall board to the ceiling and filling in below? Whaaaat.... nah bruv. Thats not gonna cut it , at all
