As you all know I'm not a big adventure bike guy BUT this bike has actually changed the way I feel about them. So easy to ride, super comfortable and just an overall joy to ride. If you're in the market for an adventure/touring bike you should definitely take out one of these! What do you guys think of the new Multistrada V4?
Got mine on order, a red V4S with cast wheels. Amazing bike that checks SO many boxes- performance, comfort, safety tech, etc. I’d bet there will even be a few Streetfighter & Panigale converts to this bike given its strong enough performance combined with much better comfort and more features (adaptive cruise control, amazing UI, etc). Glad you enjoyed it for what this bike is (and is not). 👍
My dad just bought one , me and him are doing a ride through Europe in may starting in France all the way down to Sicily him on the Multi me on the Superduke .. cant wait
1260 Pikes Peak single swing arm. 1260 Enduro double swing arm. So theres your answer :). The new V4 Multi just perfected what the Italians had on the previous Multis. I moved from a sport bike to the Multistrada. Never looked back.
What a brilliant bike! I own an S1000XR, so a similar style of bike. I used to own various nakeds, such as the s1000R and moved to this style as they are so comfortable, very capable and love the commanding riding position!
I would argue, the reason that thing is so flickable is the counter rotating crankshaft. Reversing the angular momentum within the engine will really change the way the bike changes direction. Great review btw!
It’s way easier than the Panigale due to the wide handlebar. The new Multistrada V4 is certainly a great bike 🔥 BUT I still prefer the look on the previous model, this one looks way more off-road than sport touring.
I like how you review it with a blank slate, sharing your first impressions for the first time and how it makes you feel, this helps us potential buyers, thanks!
When I had the previous gen Street Fighter S, I had the chance to get on the previous gen MTS Enduro (with street tires). Same feeling, it felt like a lot of bike under me, but strangely it handles just as agile as naked, and give it throttle I giggled. It felt strange. I could barely hear the exhaust and I almost couldn't feel the V twin engine vibration, but it rips ! And because it's very tall, My head was a lot taller than most cars on the highway, I felt like siting on a speeding sofa on a magic carpet. Very soon I sold my SF S and got a used MTS 1260S for group rides. I am thrilled for this all new Multistrada. Great video man.
I raced 2 strokes in the 60’s and 70’s. So nice to have a non top heavy bike less than 200 pounds. I like my naked bike for the street and 2 stroke for the dirt. All the car tech finally moving to bikes like stability control with IMU and Adaptive cruise control/blind spot
Nice review. The engine is not the same; as well as not being desmo and of a different tune, as you mention, it's also a larger capacity too. The single-sided swingarm is pretty, but adds more unsprung weight and doesn't handle torsional twisting so well, which is why moto-gp bikes still use dual-arms. I have a Streetfighter V4S, R1250GSA and a Multistrada V4S Full on order. I've ridden it, and I think it's an exceptional 'road' bike. IMPO the first bike to be a better mouse-trap than the GSA. The Streetfighter is much more raw/violent in its delivery, but the Multistrada has superb ride quality (which is why the speed is deceptive) and the extra smoothness is exceptional. The longer valve check service intervals are a game-changer for the typical buyer of this bike. IMHO I think it'll be the motorcycle of the year. Buy one and do your usual stuff to it, so I'll know what works and doesn't! 😀
Pikes Peak edition of the V4 is due end of 2021, single-sided swing-arm and 17” front wheel and a PP paint job!, so hopefully that’ll sort all of your complaints/observations! 👌👌
19:04 I traded my 20 V4S Pen for the 21 V4S Multi... what you speak of is due to it being tall. The pocket rockets we ride are lower to the ground making it more difficult to fight the force keeping us upright! You bright height into the equation and it makes for an easier tip in. Combine that with Ducati magic and you have what you have.
Yeah, this bike is really cool for commuting and adventure riding. I remember seeing a "Dunn Edition" Multistrada 3-4 years ago and it had a lower set seating with many upgrades. At that time, I didn't know who Dunn was but the bike was really bad ass. The Dunn Edition had a better feel and had a price tag about $8000 more that the normal version.
Finally you did it a Multi. Love mine I used to be the same way until I bought one. I have purchased many different sport bike in my past. 1200 1260's look way better. Never buy the first year model of anything complete new design. Test dummy for sure, but I still love the technology they are implementing. Jaret trick out a 1260 and give it away.
I think why you felt like you could lean it over super easy is because the suspension in it has such longer travel and is much smoother than a sports bike. So you don't feel the bumps as much and feel more "planted" on the road. My mate bought an Adventure bike and he now goes around corners faster than when he had his naked road bike!!! And I have since bought one and feel the same as you did. It was totally unexpected but is awesome!
I own a 2013 multi. So far, the only negative to this bike is the fuel tank/range. A full exhaust and up map will help the fuel mileage. I just put $1,000 into my Multistrada: routine stuff, plus a shock rebuild (race-tech is the only place I found that will do it. Ducati will not) and I finally have a properly weighted spring. So I’ll be sticking with my ’13 for a few more years. But after that, i’m 90% sure this will replace it, unless it gets updated again before 2024. This bike is a masterpiece. Edit: also this isn’t the lightest Multistrada. It’s heavier than the 1260. The engine and chassis are lighter. The bike overall is heavier.
The multi v4s is my first non sports bike and I am loving it, I live north of Sydney (aus) and on the back roads here I can ride fast on the multi than I can on my 1198SP
I own a streetfighter v4s and tested the multistrada last week, I was shocked. I like it so much. I agree with many of your comments, but after riding this bike I feel like my streetfighter is only good to ride it really hard. I think you should try it more and would have use for it. As I already have a gsxr1000r I consider replacing my streetfighter that I like a lot by the multistrada. It is that good
I’ve never heard hitherto someone speaking of bikes, relate to the lord of rings ahahah. I’ve grasp a great feel by your video about the multiV4; just I’m longing to see you trying the new Aprilia rsv4 2021. I’m curious to know what can be your feels about that other Italian bike
I’m really digging this bike!…. But. I’d rather have a street fighter with bags and more upright position. I’ll wait to see if the next gen mt10 will offer some sort of tracer option.
man,the pikes peak 1260 is amazing!!! i'm more of an aprilia guy, i owns a tuono and an rsv4 (trying to find an RSV4 X right now) but i'm starting to eye 1 or 2 ducati right now..one is your magnificent V2 LOL . i know a lot of die hard sport rider fans are now eyeing the sport adventure thing....the multi is equipped with all the bells and whistles you can asks for..it's sick...but then, italian automotive designers are quite versed into technologies,so not shocked after all....aaand,don't forget that this multi is also intended for fire roads,so this bike can in theory,be ridden hard on loose gravel roads, which i think you'd find a handfull at speed.on the road a bike is a bike, but when you enter in a sand trap with such bike, then you learn to ride way back on the seat , a completely different way of riding,a different world. ARE YOU GETTING THE DIAVEL LAMBORGHINI EDITION??? say yes please lol
man,the pikes peak 1260 is amazing!!! i'm more of an aprilia guy, i owns a tuono and an rsv4 (trying to find an RSV4 X right now) with couple yamaha race bikes , but i'm starting to eye 1 or 2 ducati right now..one is your magnificent V2 LOL . i know a lot of die hard sport rider fans are now eyeing the sport adventure thing....the multi is equipped with all the bells and whistles you can asks for..it's sick...but then, italian automotive designers are quite versed into technologies,so not shocked after all....aaand,don't forget that this multi is also intended for fire roads,so this bike can in theory,be ridden hard on loose gravel roads, which i think you'd find a handfull at speed.on the road a bike is a bike, but when you enter in a sand trap with such bike, then you learn to ride way back on the seat , a completely different way of riding,a different world. Hey, I have been always a Ducati sportbike rider and never saw myself on one of this, in the middle of a long ride with friends I asked one of them to let me try his multi, I went back home and begin looking for one, now I have one and I love it I juat to laugh like you are now 🤣🤣but believe me you will felt in love with it, not that I don't love my Panigale V4s, specifically after you turn 50 year old 🤣🤣🤣
How's the comfort compared to the diavel 1260 for commuting to work? Im thinking of trading it in for the multistrada, since i used it more for daily commute than hitting the twisties on the weekend.
My bike is the most expensive bike for me😂😂, the yamaha mio i125s, i travel it all over in negros island here in the Philippines 😀😀 idol jaret!! Come here and let's race.. Haha keep safe idol..
Ducati has upped and changed it's game by leaps and bounds. Gone are those days of twitchy engine pulls and bad quality. Jaret, go on a short bike trip on this bike with a group, it might change your opinion on long rides😉😉
Have you ever been up Pikes Peak? I give my hat off to anyone that has ripped up that. I drove a car up there at very slow speeds and that can make you feel very uncomfortable, because your not used to the altitude . I could only image going as fast as you could going up that mountain. The physical strain on your body has to be off the charts.
I've always ridden more leaned over street bikes; like a CBR-1000RR, Kawasaki ZX-14R, KTM RC390, and now I have the most upright & comfortable bike I've ever owned the Indian FTR 1200.. so I can totally get the appeal of these. Especially now that they're getting MORE powerful and MORE comfortable and have MORE creature comforts like that awesome 6.5" TFT matte display, the sweet ass heated seats, heated grips as standard, plus that wild ass Radar-Guided Cruise Control. The most important thing in my opinion is the fact that it has 170 HP, on top of some of the best service intervals in Ducati's history. I totally get it; my only real complaint is the price lol, and that's only because I can't afford one, not because Ducati is too pricey. I think when it comes to value/horsepower the Ducati's in general now a days especially are decent deals.
yeah thats a good point the price is really the only drawback BUT it's not like its a bad deal, its just a lot of bike that is going to cost a lot of money. I like the direction ducati is heading and I really enjoyed this bike.
One other complaint that I have with this bike is the sound, because it sounds like a twin despite being a 4 cylinder. I simulated the firing intervals (90°, 200°, 90°, 340°) in a metronome app I found on F-droid and based on what I heard I really expected the bike to sound much more different. A company called Motus made a 1650cc pushrod V4 called the MV4 that fires in exactly the same manner except that the firing order is 4-3-2-1 instead of 1-2-3-4 and the firing intervals are 90°, 195°, 90°, 345°. There's a video of one of those MV4's powering a Polaris SXS and I really love how rough and aggressive it sounded. I just wish some other company could buy Motus (as they're no longer in business), change the pushrods to SOHC, push the max HP numbers to 200 at 6000 to 7200 RPM, and put it in a production SXS. Maybe with four mini superchargers (one for each cylinder), turbo, and all equal length headers that engine might be able to get to 250 HP.
Hi guys .. I wanted to let you know that in Italy the new evolution in the Ducati Monster brand has been released which is lighter having its typical frame (which has aroused the criticism of fond of this model) which is lighter slightly lower in the seat! Many to the eye have noticed that with the many evolutions also of the light the Moster comes to ...S MW Augusta Brutale
Great review as always !! I would like to mention that thanks to your 2020 MS 950S off road ride video last year I bought mine Multistrada and what a great decision.. Thank you buddy ! Well this video is no different it makes me wanna buy the new one too 😉 I hope you are going to take the new one off road too... or maybe better not 😁
YOU NEED TO MODIFY THIS BRO AND BE A PART OF THE BIKE BUILD SERIES 🔥 THIS SHOULD BE MORE UNIQUE AND ITS STYLE ☑ PLEASE GRANT THIS REQUEST THANK YOU 🙏 ALL THE WAY FROM THE PHILIPPINES 💪
13:08 It does have the same dash as the Pen V4S, just a diff lay out. I know cause i just traded my 20 V4S Pen for a 21 V4S Multi. I cant have two bikes and i was 2k away from a valve check sooooo BING decision made. All my buddies have an Adv so i have to keep up. Ive been such a terror on it. Muahaha
Ducati only started using a single-sided swingarm on the 916. They gave it up for the 999, but returned to it in some later models. A single-sided swingarm is certainly not necessary to be a Ducati.
nice, one of my dream adventure bike aside from africa twins... but hey watch out for harley's version of adventure bike, the PAN AMERICA ADVENTURE BIKE... can't wait for you to test ride it...
You said this multi is the lightest theyve ever build, but thats not true. Its definitely lighter than the 1200/1260 enduro version, but the pre 2015 1200 models were very light for adventure motorcycles. Hence why people are saying this one is more an "adventure" bike and the older ones were more tall sportbikes. Ive test ridden one but ill keep my 2013 model, it just feels much more aggressive and fun to me.
Love seeing someone discovering how an adv bike takes on the turns. Up higher due to increase suspension height, and wide bars. Now you know why Carlin and others use the multistrada and not sportbikes at pikes peak.
Fuel consumption is high and short fuel range. Should be fun to ride town to town. If someone taking this for adventure touring, you may need 2 rotopax attached to its side 🤣😛
Great piece of engineering but would you get off the couch, walk to the garage and sit with a cup of tea just staring at a multistrada? Nope thought not, therefore fails Ducati test number one IMO. Great review Jaret, we know how close you are to Ducati but you still keep it honest.
Want a video with a R1 or the Fireblade man
Nah man, get the Harley Pan America
make it the new build series and turn it into a superbike killer
Got mine on order, a red V4S with cast wheels. My dad just bought one , me and him are doing a ride through Europe in may starting in France all the way down to Sicily him on the Multi me on the Superduke .. cant wait
I can recommend the road from Sorrento to Positano if you're doing that side of Italy, best road I ever rode.
that sounds amazing! Have fun guys!
What are you going to do for the 3 days while you wait his Ducati to finally catch up to your sdr?
@@mikedavis6613 haha
you both will be making many petrol stops
1260 Pikes Peak single swing arm. 1260 Enduro double swing arm. So theres your answer :). The new V4 Multi just perfected what the Italians had on the previous Multis. I moved from a sport bike to the Multistrada. Never looked back.
I had a multistrada 1260 and now a V4S and it drives so much better. Now also with a full exhaust I think it's the best adventure bike there is
After putting over 50,000 miles on my 1200S Touring Multistrada I traded it in on a new V4S Multistrada. It’s an awesome machine.
Perfect bike for touring northern Canada and Alaska. ✌🇨🇦
What a brilliant bike! I own an S1000XR, so a similar style of bike. I used to own various nakeds, such as the s1000R and moved to this style as they are so comfortable, very capable and love the commanding riding position!
"i'm destroying everyone on my flying sofa"
Best quote of 2021!
Ill snap a pic of my new V4S and post that quote. LOL so true.
This type of bike does seem big at first, but after you ride it for a while, other bikes start to feel like small toys
haha yeah I could definitely see that
When I had the previous gen Street Fighter S, I had the chance to get on the previous gen MTS Enduro (with street tires). @18:30 the multi is easier to maneuver than a monster, it's a better daily commuter too, it's the best overall bike imo
The longer valve check service intervals are a game-changer for the typical buyer of this bike. IMHO I think it'll be the motorcycle of the year. Buy one and do your usual stuff to it, so I'll know what works and doesn't! 😀
Nice review Jared. It has a backwards spinning crank that counteracts the gyro effect of the wheels thus making it easier to change direction.
Pikes Peak edition of the V4 is due end of 2021, single-sided swing-arm and 17” front wheel and a PP paint job!, so hopefully that’ll sort all of your complaints/observations! 👌👌

yeah they do something similar with the Pikes Peak edition now which is a nice tribute to Carlin

thanks glad you enjoyed it!
This would be a nice bike to go on a road trip with
This is what i need. I ride in Paris on a Ducati Monster 821 everyday, and driving on
cobblestones everyday... is a pain in the BIIIIP
Can you do one on the Desert Sled? Really enjoy this type of content from you 🙏🏼
I own a 2013 multi. So far, the only negative to this bike is the fuel tank/range. A full exhaust and up map will help the fuel mileage. Just waiting for my dealership to get mine in, should be soon & weather is getting better
Same as you, not my kind of bike but you gotta marvel at the lastest technology these days on motorcycles...Great vid! 😎🇬🇧
I own a streetfighter v4s and tested the multistrada last week, I was shocked. I like it so much. I'd keep the streetfighter and replace the GSXR :)
I live my Multi. Not sure about the 950 but the 1200 and 1260 also have that very nimble feeling it’s pretty impressive for such a big bike.
You should test the KTM 1290 Adventure S as well. 160hp/144Nm torque, And a guess a little lighter. Big V2 “sports Adventure bike”

What mic are you using in your helmet? Awesome sound quality and noise filter.

That black parts on the windshield blocks quite a bit of the field of view in front
My bike is a 2007 Kawasaki vulcan 2000, it weighs over 850lbs. Heavy bikes feel more balanced at high speeds and turns pretty easily.
Have you heard when the 2021 supersport will be available?
should be rolling out over the next few months I believe
Make a badass build on the Multistrada!!!

Once the border opens (I’m in Vancouver ) I will bring you and the boys in the shop a case of Peroni on my 1260s multi!! Love the channel.....
@@JaretCampisi Do it need a comparison
4 wheels move the body,2 wheels move the soul.....this MTDS v4 is mile crunching beast...
Any chance you could do a review on the Hypermotard. Would value your opinion..
Great review as always !!
I would like to mention that thanks to your 2020 MS 950S off road ride video last year I bought mine Multistrada and what a great decision.. Thank you buddy ! Well this video is no different it makes me wanna buy the new one too 😉 I hope you are going to take the new one off road too... or maybe better not 😁
Jaret what about the surprise you mention few weeks ago? Is it still a secrete ?
it is for now but I will share what it is soon :)
YOU NEED TO MODIFY THIS BRO AND BE A PART OF THE BIKE BUILD SERIES 🔥 THIS SHOULD BE MORE UNIQUE AND ITS STYLE ☑ PLEASE GRANT THIS REQUEST THANK YOU 🙏 ALL THE WAY FROM THE PHILIPPINES 💪
Awesome Videos dude! I love watching them, you mentioned in a video earlier that you have some big news coming! Is that still on it’s way? :)
Hi.. Next project rebuild this multistrada v4 same as panigale v2 project.. I believe everybody waiting for tht.
Muahaha
You ridden a 1250GSA? Your riding commentary reminds me of the first time and every time I ride mine!
This should be your next build.
I’m a Ducati guy, but my buddy, who was also one, switched to a 1250 GS. Have you ridden that too? This thing looks pretty dope.
Absolute beast , get this, better than bmw GS
Ducati only started using a single-sided swingarm on the 916. They gave it up for the 999, but returned to it in some later models. A single-sided swingarm is certainly not necessary to be a Ducati.
yeah for sure BUT it is still one of my favorite features of any ducati
nice, one of my dream adventure bike aside from africa twins... but hey watch out for harley's version of adventure bike, the PAN AMERICA ADVENTURE BIKE... can't wait for you to test ride it...
That is a very cool bike. Thank you for sharing your review definitely. I will buy one.
What are you using for chin mount and mic?
You said this multi is the lightest theyve ever build, but thats not true. Its definitely lighter than the 1200/1260 enduro version, but the pre 2015 1200 models were very light for adventure motorcycles. Hence why people are saying this one is more an "adventure" bike and the older ones were more tall sportbikes. Ive test ridden one but ill keep my 2013 model, it just feels much more aggressive and fun to me.
Love seeing someone discovering how an adv bike takes on the turns. Up higher due to increase suspension height, and wide bars. Now you know why Carlin and others use the multistrada and not sportbikes at pikes peak.
it's like an Alpina (BMW)
everyday comfortable, fun to drive, and seriously able when you push it
Which one is faster.. the BMW 1000XR or this one?
Nice bike & great video as always, agree about the single sided swing arm. Not a bike for me, 5ft 5" short!! ✌ peice brother, have a great day 👊
Maybe it's the high CoG that means it tips over easily?
My Dream bike.. Ride safe bro
And what a great dream bike it is man!
Also your costumized bikes.. im dreaming those too.. keep it up bro.. always watching your videos
This Motorcycle is the Flag Ship of Ducati's
Nice video, thank you,Great motorcycle, I just looked at it today, really woow 👍
Nice bike, V4 or BMW S1000 XR ?
Very cool bike, but fuel consumption (6.5 lit / 100 km) is to high for me.
Fuel consumption is high and short fuel range. Should be fun to ride town to town. If someone taking this for adventure touring, you may need 2 rotopax attached to its side 🤣😛
Love your vids where you ride bro!
It's the upright bars... Taller bars make bikes easier to throw around.
That bike is a dream.
Killing the game
Can a 200c bike rider buy this bike in Urban mode and later use full power
Try to share your opinion 🧐
Great piece of engineering but would you get off the couch, walk to the garage and sit with a cup of tea just staring at a multistrada? Nope thought not, therefore fails Ducati test number one IMO. Great review Jaret, we know how close you are to Ducati but you still keep it honest.
The Multistrada is the plain Jane girl with skills in the bedroom. She will never be your #1, but she is definitely worth keeping around.
suspension seems great
wide handlebar = amazing handling
The Pikes Peak is beautiful
How about buying this bike as the next build series? I'm wanting to see how crazy an adventure bike can go :))
I honestly don't think it would get enough support/views to do an entire build on
@@JaretCampisi I think you're right. Adventure bikes are not for everyone :))
Parce cuántas motos tienes, tienes casi todas las motos de mis sueños
Flying couch. Love it!
Good vid today
We see a lot of influence from Volkswagen : simplier design lines, simplier technology involved... Not good
The swing arm needs to be 2 sided for strength. Its an adventure bike.... off road👍
Awesome amazing fantastic marvelous superb magic brilliant 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
That's a sweet bike bro would love to test ride it , 🏴🏍💨👊😎
