FYI, with the technivorm you can plug it into a smart outlet, turn switch to on and program it to turn on at a set time, provided you already setup beans and water.
I love my Bonavita because of its simplicity. My mother is the one who discovered it and told me about it, so I bought both of us one. She has recently passed away, but she sure loved her coffee! ☕️ ❤️
Gail: you're so informative, knowledgeable, pleasant, practical and helpful. I don't drink drip coffee but I love watching you! You're fantastic. Keep it up!
I had the bonavita, returned 2 units, and my 3rd just quit. Very sensitive to water hardness, and you have to decale frequently. It stops part way into a brew if slightly scaled. Personally, I think the quality is not there, but the warranty and replacement is great. Pros: great coffee, compact design, simple. Cons: cheap materials prone to failure, internal failures in pump/heating, and superficially looks cheap. I just ordered the breville. Let's see if it can outlast the bonavita, as it lasted only 1year at 1 pot a day, three times in a row.
I have the precision brewer, I absolutely love this machine. I have the tribute edition.. this one does it all. Worth every penny. Thank you Seattle coffeegear.
Donald Banhart trying? Ok. Anyways its called an appliance what you have, if you want a machine look at a profitec 700 or a rocket maybe that way you will see why i had to correct you.
I'm looking at the Moccamaster One Cup. It has an all copper core heating unit. Breville is generally good enough but lacks the higher quality components.
@1:46 My manual says that switch is for the hot plate, to heat half or full power. But in another video you say thats for a full or half pot. I'm confused.
Hello Gail. I was hoping you could tell me the difference between the Breville Precision Brewer Tribute edition and the plain Breville precision brewer. Thank you!!
Gail; Are these actually drip brewers, or would you call them pour overs? If they have the pre enf, or the pausing techniques, as well as the sprinkle head wouldn't those be called pour over? M. IL.
One year and no reply? I believe it has more to do with the waterflow. Half a pot has less coffee in the filter. So you want it to change the amount of water being dispersed at a time.
Okay I have heard so many mixed reviews about Technivorm being a good coffee machine but not worth $300. Who owns one and has an honest opinion? What's your verdict?
I've had mine for 10+ years. It is great! It makes terrific coffee, and thats what we want right? After all these years it has gotten a little tired, and so I'm looking for another Technivorm.
If you like features you probably think that Technivorm is overpriced. If you like a simple quality machine then you probably don't mind paying that premium.
My 2 year old MoccaMaster makes great coffee. But I'm sick of replacing ($35 each!) the fragile glass carafe. I'm on my third one! When (not if) this one breaks it's going in the garbage. Will give the Bonavita a try...
I own the Bonavita 5 cup, always found other brewers did not make a decent coffee for one. If you only make coffee for one, try the 5 cup Bonavita. Thanks for all your great reviews.
@@cyberjoe77 only owned the small and I love it. I think if you make more than 25 ounces of coffee at one time, go with the large, 25 oz gives you 2 good size mugs.
@@cyberjoe77 I have diabetes and started taking metformin and it changed my taste buds. I hated all coffee oh, I tried so many coffee pots from Keurig to the old fashioned percolator and even have a very expensive KitchenAid that I purchased for over $200 years ago. This little coffee pot makes the best coffee. Perfect temperature, I use 3 tablespoons 415 oz of water , I also like breakfast blend because I don't like my coffee very strong. I grind my own beans and usually drink Starbucks breakfast blend or Nature's promise. If you got it post on here if you like it. Good luck. By the way I bought mine at Wayfair to 60 something dollars.
@@cyberjoe77 thank you, but I am not obese by no means, actually a small in clothing. Appreciate it though, it runs in my family. My mom was so tiny. Happy Thanksgiving.
I have the bonavita and the carafe is breaking in less than a year and the company has not responded to my warranty claim! Really disappointed in their customer service!
I bought the Bona Vita. I don’t like it. I don’t like that there isn’t a heating element to keep the coffee warm after brewing. I don’t like that I have to screw on the top to the carafe before the coffee gets cold. I don’t like the absence of a beep when the coffee is ready. I don’t like how the coffee filter has to sit on top of the pot and then you have to remove it and put it somewhere in order to pour even one cup of coffee. I don’t like that you can’t pour a cup while the rest of the coffee is still dripping into the pot. Poor functional design in my opinion
Gail your videos are always so informative and relaxing to watch. If ever I'm in Seattle I'm coming to you to buy stuff to take back to the UK with me. You're awesome!
Never again will I buy a Breville product. Their service department in Canada never responds to emails or phone calls. Avoid their products because it will break down
I bought a Breville blender about 13 years ago (I used to replace my blenders every other year) and it still stands up to my hummus, but did eventually develop some sort of air-pocket or vacuum thing, causing me to have to stop and stir a lot. I bought a Breville toaster oven and I've hated it since day one. The broiler function is okay, the design is completely flawed if you want toast. It has one bit square heat coil which burns the edges of the toast, leaving the middle untoasted. More than you wanted to know, but I really felt like venting to someone.
Question about the burners on the bottom -- are they not great because it ends up "cooking" the coffee for 40 minutes? Or are they calibrated not to get too too hot?
Ive adored my BonaVita until it died this week. Turns out the metal corroded from the inside out. Im not sure if Im mad, disappointed, or just lost. We love our coffee....thinking about going with Technivorm next.
I’d recommend not purchasing from Seattle coffee gear; last year I purchased a Sette 270 and Silvia (with PID) The 270 broke and I attempted to visit their BELLEVUE store today nov29th 2019 for repair assistance as well as to purchase a Rocket (with pid). I drove to this location because their phone seems to be disconnected. Traffic is really rough at their location Perhaps they’re going out of business? Regardless, before I could get to the counter the staff swarmed me, explaining Seattle coffee gear no longer supports their sales; that id need to contact the manufacture. It’s not even a year old, they also said someone else came in with a broken Sette 270 I guess they’re going out of business, stinks. Was a good company, was looking forward to some upgrades Where do folks buy Rockets now?
I love my Bonavita coz it’s the most affordable option. Got mine for $45 after using my Christmas gift card on amazon. If my Bonavita breaks down stops working I might get the Technivorm
Hi Gail, love your videos! Please help me! I'm looking for an espresso machine, budget is 200$. The more I research the more confused I am about what to get. Could you help me out with like 3 different options incase some are not available in my country. PS I love espresso and latte's incase that may alter the decision.
Of all the people on the internet right now, I trust Gail the most.
She puts half and half in her coffee. I don't know how anyone could trust her opinion on coffee flavor.
@@godzoookie 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I don't trust anyone who intentionally lives in Seattle.

I've owned the Technivorm long before it was sold at the retail stores! Still pumping out coffee every day.
ok boomer
Gail: you're so informative, knowledgeable, pleasant, practical and helpful. I don't drink drip coffee but I love watching you!

Goes with the name. I like cups and my husband likes a pot of coffee. Perfect for us.

Donald Banhart find it far fetched to call it a machine but ok...

I’d love to see a comparison video between a the Braun Multiserve and the Breville precision brewer.
I’m real happy with my technivorm. Great review Gail.

I got the Breville on prime day for $200 CND and couldn't be happier.
I have a Bonavita, love it! I got a second Bonavita for my son. He loves. Gail has spoken. All who watch need to listen.
I can not find the Bonavita with the glass carafe.
You have the wrong silicon insert in the brevillle pour over adapter.
What do you think about the Oxo 9 Brew?
the Bonavita does pour over as well
I heard the quality is terrible tho
@@clockwork9825 Not my experience, I love it!!
I have the bonavita but the water reservoir had really bad stress marks after a few years so we dont use it as much just incase it cracks
Have you looked at the ninja hot and cold brewer
You should review the moccamaster coffee grinder

Is the full/half pot switch affecting the water temperature or the heating plate? Water flow?

Do any companies have a drip coffee maker where the hot water/coffee does not contact plastic parts? Thanks.
