I got Beethoven’s 2nd for SNES as a gift when it was released. I didn’t have a huge catalog of games as a kid, so I ended up playing more than I wanted to, but god damn did I hate every minute of it.
I always wanted to Record my gameplay :D I did it with VHS, but you could only record 2-3 Hours, or was it more ? cant remember exactly. Enough for a movie, so you could record only the best parts :D
That really is strange, I loved to watch my friends play 1 player games in like 4th and 5th grade, their mom would always pass through and see me just watching and say "let him play too" and I would just think " I don't mind".. I just like to see what people do and learn from it..It must be a personality thing
You guys should do James and Mike Mondays: Gong Show. Mike makes James play a random game and if James thinks the game he is playing is shitty, he hits a gong and Mike picks a new game.
The J&MM where James plays an obscure super famicom game with a character completely modeled after King Diamond named “Diamon” and doesn’t even mention it.
Regarding the absence of cows on the Flintstones, I need to quote Weird Al here: "Jumbo Ribs at the Drive-In can't be beat now, made from Brontosaurus baby, not Moo-Cow." I think that settles that :)

I remember I couldn't beat the last boss on the SNES version, some fuckery that I depleted his whole health but he wouldn't die or something. It's been a long while since I played.
So Bastard probably takes the cake for most metal references in an anime. The main character's name is Dark Snider (Dee Snider) the head priest of Metallicana sealed him in a... I'm not going to explain it. You are a metalhead James, it's worth the quick Wiki read for giggles.
Bastard was a game based on an anime that I remember playing a version of for PS1 back in the day, got an import from Japan on a modded system around 97-98. I didn't know they had it on SNES.
There are at least 2 of them. I got them in a huge snes rom collection. The 2nd one is bdsm stuff. I think they have like 10 images per 'game'. You'd have to be pretty desperate to find value in these, honestly :/
I recognize the soundtrack, ROM was called amanga or amanga1 in some ROM pack i had long ago, there was also an amanga2 It passes as fappable in a pinch.
One I want to see them play on the everdrive is Doremi Fantasy, it's a sequel to Milon's Secret Castle and IT DOESN'T SUCK! It's actually fun as hell :D
It makes me so happy to know that someone else out there remembers the Mighty Max show! That was my favorite cartoon as a kid, but hardly anyone seems to remember it.
I started watching it after taking seeing your comment. Its pretty good. It reminds me of FotNS and Dungeons and Dragons(with the Beholder and Efreets and how Dark Schneider casts spells)
There's some good kusoge stuff in this episode, especially that Mighty Max game. That Bastard game looked really beautiful at least, it could be fun, I know it's based on an explicit anime.
Lots of Love from India James buddy.... your AVGN videos reminds me my childhood playing nes games on tv with friends, in childhood there was no stress, no tension, everything was awesome, but as we grown up we lost our moments means our precious childhood moments.....
12:05 - Oh my God. I haven't thought about that thing in like 15 or 20 years. I had it as a teenager. I probably got it in like a giant ROM pack or something. I fucking lit up when the music started playing because despite all that time never playing/looking at it, I still remember that music.
I like the camera, or lighting, whatever, used here, makes it more comfy, the parodius video (along with other AVGN videos) have this super yellow brightish warm light that makes everything look weird, you need shadows for the contrast.
There's another Flintstones game for the Playstation called Bedrock Bowling. You're riding a half bowling ball along a track to capture pins and stuff while avoiding hazards.
If you have an Everdrive, I really think you'd like Super Metroid Arcade. It basically turns Super Metroid into a score-based time trial that changes every time you play.
Opening up a pack of games like this is like asking for Transformers for Christmas....... and getting Voltron instead. :-( But, James' and Mike's antics make it all worth it!
OMG, Mike's Fred & Barney skit had me in tears... "But but Fred, I thought we were friends!"
Low key one of Mike's funniest moments ever.
Mike’s voice acting improv of his version of the Flinstones cracked me up. Lmao that was hilarious!
Mike's rendition of Fred bashing in Barney's head with a club is like Cavemen Sopranos.
"...like just for fun?!" 😂😂😂
Best reaction to the question, "Have you watched Congo?"
Yep, that was pretty funny. Lmao.
Savage
Steven Colletti worst nes game back to the future so happy James did a Avgn episode of it🙂
I love that the mere idea of watching Congo for fun is so ridiculous that neither of them can even talk they're laughing so hard.
The true beauty of flashcarts or emulators. I love getting lost in the list of games and finding something you'd probably never play otherwise.
Yall need to play The Lost Vikings for SNES. Loved that game as a kid.
It had a sequel as well. Fun games.
Just thinking the same thing.
Yesssss! Agreed!
i have that game! i would like to get the second one, though.
good call. King Arthur's World is a unique deal too.
"AVGN Flintstones Games". Now you gotta do it James.

How come i like it now?
I always wanted to Record my gameplay :D I did it with VHS, but you could only record 2-3 Hours, or was it more ? cant remember exactly. Enough for a movie, so you could record only the best parts :D
For most people, there's only one of three reasons: Less time to play games, untended loneliness, or both.
You've learned to appreciate it more

Because you are too old and can't be bothered playing as much anymore
Bastard is an actual Anime with all the characters having battles, the things you learn
Hah, beat me to it. I said the same thing. Might check it out. Looked kinda interesting.
This one looks good the ps1 game is complete garbage
they should have played the fan translation patch, it has f bombs
My anime club joked that the Bastard! anime was structured like a video game; the next episode previews listed "Next Enemy"
was very hesvy metal based. even had a King Diamond character
The Bastard game reminds me of the Dragon Ball Z fighting game
Dragon Ball Z Legends for the PS1 yes, me too...Bastard looks fun tbh
Bastard is an anime I believe
I actually remember watching the anime it's based on.
It's all right but far from a classic.
I remember the good ole days when we had to use the goldfinger for the PS1 to play DBZ Legends.

Seems like Beethovens 2nd and Congo for SNES need the Nerd treatment!
Same with mighty max

I love their silly conversations. They remind me the time when I was 12 and me and my friend played on my PS2 and talking about senseless things: D
I want a 10 hour loop of James saying "graphics".
And Mike saying "EAT THE MEAT"
Funny how Flintstone's games always has the same club attack.
Maybe because Flintstones are supposed to be cavemen(of sorts)
