    Oh how very very dare you! I can't believe you just tore the pages from that poor unwanted book and not a care in the world! Shame on you for giving it a new purpose and saving it from landfill. And then you have the sheer AUDACITY to go and pretty it up too!!!! Tut tut tut 🤣🤣🤣 honestly though, this is by far the best altered book guide I've seen. Bravo! 😘💖

    I have yet to try an altered book. I know a lot of people think it’s the easiest route to go. But if you’re going to do it right, it doesn’t seem easy at all. Like you said, you really have to think it through. When I’m ready to tackle an altered book, I will most definitely come back to your playlist. This is one of the best and most descriptive guides I’ve seen. Thanks!! 🤗❤️

    Thank you so very much for making this video. I want to make an altered book and have watched many videos about it. I love yours! You’ve explained very well your process and I really appreciate that. I’m from the US and watched the series and loved it I didn’t know anything about the book until I saw your videos. I immediately went to thrift books and found 2 copies, I got both and can’t wait to get started! So ignore the naysayers great job and thank you again.😊

    Very informative about the structure of the spine. Best explanation I've seen so far. Thank you. Loved it. Yes I agree tearing into a book was very difficult for me. Cutting up beautiful pictures also.

    Interesting. My first foray into junk journals was to use an altered book. I used an old cookbook that seemed the right size to me. Common sense told me to leave the signature stitches in and remove other pages. It worked just fine. That was last November so I made a Christmas book. A fascinating journey. My second one I am making is Fairyland my own book but it has a damaged cover. It feels like you are giving an unwanted book a new beginning. Thank you for explaining.😊

    The page is called a Flyleaf. 😊
    I just ordered this book from the website World of Books. They had 9 copies in very good and 3 in good condition. I purchased a Very Good for $5.39 + $1.99 shipping. I’ve bought books from them before and their customer service is excellent. The only thing is their shipping is SLOW but so cheap! Also, spend over $10 and the shipping is Free. But remember…. Be patient 😊❤
    I used to be super precious about books, just ask my younger self with all her library awards. Lol I still cringe when someone dog ears a page but if I can repurpose, reuse and make something beautiful that can be treasured then I will do it!
    Do people only complain when you actually show deconstructing a book? Where do they think we get book pages for collage and masterboards from? ❤Xxx
    Congratulations to the winners! 🎉

      All excellent point Lisa, I often think the old adage “What the eye doesn’t see, the heart doesn’t yearn for” applies mostly with UA-cam, if it’s in their face they moan, but never complain about the loose leaves 🥰.
      Oh I use World of Books. They are brilliant and the books are always in excellent condition! Have fun creating your Larkrise to Candleford xxx

    I have this "Lark Rise..." book and have been altering it because the illustrations are so beautiful. But the only way I had devised to cover the text bits that are left is to cover them with plain paper that could be journaled on. Your video is very helpful, because now I can see different ways to use those pages. Thank you!!

      @RachandBellaCrafts  Рік тому

      Hi Tammy, do you mean the ones I removed? X

    • @tammydayfl
      @tammydayfl Рік тому

      Not the one's you removed completely but the one's you partially removed and left a peice in to attach other pages or items to. How did you remove or cut away part of the page and get it straight without the rest of the book getting in the way while you were trying to cut? Did you use scissors or an exacto knife or something else to cut part of them off while leaving a peice of the page in the book?
