Joo-weee!! 💚💚💚 Hello darling!! I'll be starting a new altered book as soon as I can find an ideal candidate at the thrift store! I need to document my move across the country! 😲😲 Oh my goodness!! I've chosen a few things (OK, truth be told, three bankers boxes full) to craft with as it'll be a couple months at least from the time we drive away from the desert until I'll be able to set up my new craft room in my new house! Crafter's gonna craft and a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!! ...am I right?? 😂🙌 Big hugs, my friend, Ems 🤗❤️🌵❤️🤗
I've made about 5 or 6 altered books and I have made about 6 journals that I bound myself. I love the way you did this one though and I want to do more water color and actual coloring with pens etc. in the books like you did here. Those pages were beautiful that you made! I can't wait to see what else you do!! Tfs💜
Hello Joie, stopping by to say hello. Of course see what you are up to. I’m going on a journey with my husband tomorrow. We are going to start with old books from the library, they no longer want. Thank you for sharing your wonderful thoughts and ideas for what’s to come with your “book” journal. You know I’ll be watching. 🦋
Found this video today from watching the start of Shabby's where she mentioned you got her into this challenge, and she said you went into a good deal of detail. So I have watched this video, sourced a book, torn out pages and done the gluing and pocket making. I am leaving out to dry overnight and then it will be play time. :) This will be my first altered book attempt. :) Thank you for going to so much trouble in this video. It gave me the confidence to give it a go. :)
Love your videos! You are one of the few who don’t overkill your journals with digitals. Digitals can be great...... but I miss the true art. I think that is why I love Arteza and how you use their products, not to mention the vintage art books! Aaah-Summmm!!!!!
I read a book before altering it. I often take notes of ideas and other thoughts along the way. That gives me inspiration of what to do as I alter it. I try to include imagery that complements the story. I feel this way I'm honoring the book.
@@joiedefi of course that's just me... that's not to suggest anyone else should do it. After all, not everyone wants to read Shakespeare or volume G from a set of encyclopedia. 😁
Great video, Joie! Love how you showed your process of choosing the right book! Super fun collab with you again. Love how we take the same idea and make it our own! :) Hugs, Barbara
We absolutely do.. it pops out looking different, doing it our own ways, becoming whatever we like. Let's do this! Loved your video...need to watch it again, there's a lot in it! Joie ❣️🌿🍁
I literally look forward to your videos every single week. I’ve had a bit of painful day with a hip and shoulder dislocation, so having thiso look forward to, with a glass of wine is just divine. Also you must have read my mind.... I was debating an altered book as my next project, but didn’t know where to start! And you came to the rescue, my wonderful papyrohiliac heroine. 💖🐝
Right, now I have to go and look that word up! Seriously, I do hope that you are ok...that sounds painful. Definitely take things slowly, look after yourself...and maybe plan that altered book some more. Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery 💕
Just bought two music books at our library bookstore each for 25 cents a piece. The dates are 1925 and 1938, quite a find. One is a little larger with an embossed front. Perfect for my daughter's music journal. So excited.
Hi Joie, I know this video is 2 years old and you might not see this comment. I just want to say that I enjoyed watching this video and listening to your voice which is pleasant and soothing. I saw a post recently when you mentioned experiencing health issues. I hope things are improving.
I've been fortunate to find several vintage books at a nearby charity shop (thrift store). I've been watching Tina working on her altered book. Im hoping soon to start on or continue one I've started previously. Thank you for sharing.
Haven’t made a journal from an old book , but it’s definitely on my to-do list. I love following both you and Barbara .....I’m fast running out of hours in my day
Tee hee... Barbara is super busy filming these days, and we're having a lot of fun chatting together about this altered book/bullet junk journal idea. So great to hear that something like this is on your to do list Wyn!! 😁👍🏻💜
You're so calming and peaceful, Joie. I don't remember how I found you. Maybe Tina, or Kari or Barbara. I love this idea and am planning to alter a book. Probably in winter when things are slower and quieter. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Joie I thought I had watched every video you had made. I was so delighted to find this one to watch. I love it. Miss seeing you Joie. Hope you can make a new Video soon. Hugs❤️
you just inspired me to make a junk journal of all my husband's Grandmother's Poems and give it to him as gift....thank you for sharing step by step how to
I love altering books and making them into something new, beautiful and useful for me. I get all of my books from a store here in Knoxville, TN called McKay's. They have 2 big bins outside that they put books into when they are cleaning off their shelves to make room for newer and more popular books that people bring in to trade, sell or to get a store credit for. the books in these bins are free for the taking. A lot of people bring in bags, totes or boxes full of books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and games that they no longer want and put them in the bins for others to take. McKay's also have two other locations here in TN, Chattanooga and Nashville. I visit them anytime I am in those areas also. There is nothing better than free books when you do what we do. LOL Thank you for the time and effort you put into making these videos. You are such an inspiration to us all.
Such great tips! Thx so much. You can use white Gesso to cover up parts of whole pages, so you CAN use some books with poetry and images 👍and the pages will become stronger and if you use Daniel Smith's watercolor ground instead of gesso, you can even use markers and does not even damage the nibs (i've seen a video where they tried that out, but have not tried that out myself) or use expensive brushes (if you have them)
I love that you’ve given me so much to think about when looking for a vintage book to use for journaling. In my home town which is about 260 miles from where I live now, has the most amazing used book store. It’s a very old 3 story building that dates back to the early 1900’s. I love going in when I go back home and I can spend hours in there. The next time I go, I will have so much more to think about when I purchase my books. My husband is a huge history buff and loves going in and he’s even harder to get out of there than I am.
Oh my gosh Joie!! Definitely so very well worth the wait! I'm just a tiny tad little bit under the weather today, or I was until I saw this, and now I'm certain I can take on the world... or at least a carefully chosen book. 😃 To answer a couple questions you had, no, yes, and absolutely!! No I've never done this before, yes I will be thrilled to join you, and absolutely, we must get Tina on board - I'll drop her a line on my way out the door to the thrift store. You are as precious as... as... as... well, as something that is REALLY precious and I'm so excited to be able to do this with you. Lots of love from the Southern California desert, MK ❤☀️🌵
How exciting Emm!!! Tina will be delighted to hear from you 😊. I have been editing the next video in this series, making good progress in decorating the cover and the first 2 inside pages. Can't wait to share with you and to hear about your progress. What will you find at the thrift store, I wonder!! All the best to you, hugs, joie 🌿🍄💜
@@joiedefi We got her! Tina's in - but you probably already knew that. Woo hoo! I told her that with two of my favorite teachers in the same class I'd better straighten up and fly right! Struck out on a good book to use yesterday but it ain't over yet. Your suggestions on what to look for in choosing a likely candidate for a project such as this were SSOOO very helpful, thank you for that if I didn't already say so. Thanks, too, for all the hard work you're putting into this project for us. XOX from the SoCal desert, MK ❤☀️🌵
I have always gutted my books completely. I guess I was intimidated by keeping pages because I just don't know what to do with them. So I find this so neat that you're going from the very start. Thank you so much for sharing this. (I really enjoyed your reading the poem. It was so soothing.)
I do go to thrift shops for books. The public library in my city has great old books sales in the lobby. I've bought lots of books there for fantastic prices. Right now they have so many books, that for a limited time they are all 10 cents. Any size. I bought 5 books there today. Some for collage and some to read. I love the aged pages, which can be used for so many projects .🎨🖌 so happy that I found your channel
Breathtaking! I started a book, but only did a couple of pages. Your spread is gorgeous and has inspired me to go back and see if I can make it as lovely as yours. You were just what I needed to see today! Thanks ever so much! Posted to Pinterest. God bless and stay safe.
I made and sold altered books about 20 years ago. I moved on to other things after that. In the past year I've started making junk journals. On a whim I just looked up info on altered books and came across this video and the ones that 49dragonflies did. I'm excited to make and altered book again.
Just doing my first altered book, didn't know how to decorate all those pages, thank you for Joie for showing me I can paint and collage 😊 bit of stencilling and stamping too, I'm going to enjoy making this!
Your voice is very beautiful and very soothing. I love your work and I love how you advertise for other crafters their chanels. And how we all share our ideas with one another. Very beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Hi! I enjoyed watching your process; TFS. I have been watching 49 dragonflies doing her altered bullet point book and came from her channel. ♥️ I have made well over 100 altered hardback journals but I use card stock to create 10 to 12 double-sided spreads. I add lace trim to each page. Usually I add a fabric cover but lately I made several without the fabric covers. I added a focal point on each one similar to how you showed the red florals you painted. Anyway, I really like these last three. PS I am a brand new subscriber!
I really love the mushroom pic that you did and it's a beautiful cover I think. I've come here from Barbara at 49 dragonflies and I really like this idea and love watching what you both are going to come up with.
I just started doing an altered book. Loved your videos and Barbara’s. Both of you do such great work. Keep doing what you do and, I hope you are feeling better 😋😋😋😋🙏🙏🙏
Wonderful tutorial. I've done several but not quite like you're doing. I quite like how you are using the page itself as a backdrop instead of covering it up with paper. Tfs Blessings
I buy travel books on countries I’ve visited and add my own photos create pockets for items from the trip write on page or add written comments to pockets add pages for photos thanks for your piece it reminded me to add to the travel books since we are in lockdown
That's fantastic Rosemary. You've got an amazing approach there...I really like the sound of that👍🏻😁🌟 Thanks so much for popping by to watch, and for taking the time to share your thoughts. Happy journaling!! Joie 🌿❣️
I have made one altered book using the step by step instructions of a different artist. Hers was basically all collage. About three quarters of the way thru I realized I wanted to incorporate some of the ideas I had seen on junk journal you tubes, the book I used was one purchased from the dollar store, and I really needed to cover each page just because it had weird text. So the pages I took out also can’t stand on their own. Thank you for explaining how you chose your book. She also had a different methodology of how many pages to remove. I look forward to your series. I’m going to try to find another book,
I love this technique and I love what you did so far. I tried making an art journal once before but definitely chose the wrong book...it does make a difference! Thanks for the inspiration - I want to follow along with you on this journey!
People have been doing this for a few years now. UA-cam is flooded with videos showing this. Your voice is fun to listen to! Great to keep the momentum going!
Haven't played with altering a boom in quite a while even though I have 2 or 3 pulled for that purpose. Time to rip some pages out. Thank you for the inspiration.
Oh my! How perfect is this video!? It's exactly what I've been looking for as I'm planning on doing a memory / art journal for my children. An altered book will do the job. Thank you for sharing and being so methodical in your explanations. It really helps! I will truly enjoy this project. All the best to you!
This is lovely. I enjoy playing with paper, I had previously thought I would alter a book. With your inspiration I feel I need to get busy. Thank you for sharing!!! Blessings 🙏
Wonderful Video Joie~Truly Relaxing and Informative! I am drawn to Vintage/Antique books and have been adding to my collection which has turned into a Library. Not every old book speaks to me, but when it does, it loudly beckons! I haven't made an altered book just yet. I appreciate your tutorial very much! When I do create one, I will be very selective in choosing the book I use. There definitely are books that will remain part of my library but what a Beautiful way to pay tribute to these Precious works of Art~to bring the Masterpieces of the Past into the age of today~by Gifting New Life and Pleasurable Purpose. The Lovely Covers, the Carmel colored pages, the Amazing Illustrations are the Perfect foundation from which to begin. I Soo Appreciate how much Love & Attention you give to these treasures~honoring the Precious Works of Art they Truly Are!
You totally get this Hodge Podge, you absolutely understand!! 😁😁😁 And as I write this I'm at my craft desk planning some collage on the cover of this Altered Book. So much fun to come, I hope we can chat again soon!! Joie 💜🌿
I have created several repurposed books & each one has turned out totally different. I think that the book & what you put in it takes on a life of its own almost. I’ve really enjoyed making them. Thank you for sharing your creativity 😊
It's been awhile since I've visited your channel and I remember why I love it so much. I had to take a break from Social Media because I was too much watching and not enough doing. I really want to make an altered book and fill it with all the cards my husband has given me through the years. I also want to make an art journal reusable cover and a ethereal looking book with lavender, blush pink, yellow and periwinkle (because you can't have an ethereal book without periwinkle) glitter bits, flowers, fairies and of course lots of animals. Oooo, maybe a neutral colored forest glen. Yep that's the one. See this is why I love your channel you get my creative juices flowing. TFS&Inspiration.
I have altered a couple or maybe 3. Tanya McGuire and I used altered books for our Fairy Journals. It is my favorite of the altered books I have done. I am looking forward to doing another one. They are a little addictive. Loved watching your process. Blessings.
How nice collaboration with Barbara from 49dragonflies 🤩🤩🤩 You two are a great combo 👯♀️👯♀️👯♀️ I like your cover painting...it would be so nice if you tear it nicely and make a kind of collage or add fabric or lace!?!? Have a great Sunday ☀️☀️☀️
joie de fi you are welcome 🌸 I'm sure you will find a beautiful way to make your cover!!! Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the endless possibilities to do it... 🤯🤯🤯
I’ve made many of these altered books. I feel like a little kid playing with my art supplies and the results are always satisfying. I’m going to “zoom craft” together with friends today. It’s become a Saturday ritual! Thank you for all of your inspiration.
I have made several altered book journals. Mostly in the way of Gayle Agostinelli. I have not sept one for me to work in but I think its time. You have inspired me with these pages. they are beautiful.
Thanks for sharing...I love your ideas 👏👏😀 I am just moved to the country side and we have a little second hand shop, and OMG 😱 they had a hole side of the the shop with books and a hole side( a very very very big wall with only OLD BOOKS 😩🤪🤪 my husband was with my so I could only buy a few books 😂🤣 5 small children books because they was so lovely. When I came home I sew they was from 1856 😱😱 so I simply couldn’t cut them up. They are sitting in my living room 😍 My dream is now to make a library with only old beautiful books. Do I sad I looove old books.😂😍 I simply must go to the shop when my craft room is finished. It isn’t a real room but the hall on the 1st floor of our house ( i don’t know the English word for it.) it is very big and have so much natural light from the 2 large windows in the roof. We moved in 1.august so everything is new for us and still lots of moving boxes 🙂 Thanks again for sharing your beautiful creations Blessings from Denmark 🇩🇰 Tina 💙🦋
I have just discovered Junk Journaling...and you! So much wonderful information and ideas here, I’m less intimidated after watching your video. Thank you!
I love the way you go through the pros and cons of each type of book. I'm just starting out with altering books as art journals. These insights are so helpful! Thank you.
Really enjoyed how you talked your way through choosing or putting aside books for another day and explaining why! I think that is so essential for newbies like myself. Loved your video. Many thanks from Denmark .
Just getting into junk journaling and this video has so inspired me. Now I am going to raid all my old books and alter them. Thanks!! I have to watch all your videos now for more ideas!!
just a suggestion....I find if you alternate back to front when glueing your pages together...u get less of the crooked spine... it seems makes a great deal of difference doing it this way...hope it helps you as well...happy crafting...
Thank you so much for this video. I have never used an altered book but want to try after seeing this video. I love the simple way you explained everything.❤
I went back and rewatched this video. I have progressed to the point now that I 'think I can!" lol Thank you for showing your process for choosing the book you use. Also, it's interesting to see that your page removal/keep ratio is so low. Some I've watched lately remove as many as 7 pages and keep only 2...that just didn't seem the right mix for me. Also, it was fun to see the simplicity of your first layout. Once Again, thank you for your clear instructions!
Our libraries have bins FULL of books that are outdated and I got several free. I visited my son in Alabama and he had a complete set of 1963 encyclopedia and I brought those home. I think I am set for books for awhile :D
@@joiedefi Oh I have torn apart one of the encyclopedias, good grief what a challenge! Those staples are kind of scary! But imagine how many envelopes!
Cuanto me alegra saber de que usted está bien y como lamento no poder entender sus maravillosas explicaciones. Gracias por compartir y regalar momentos de alegrías.
Yes, I’ve done 2 and am currently doing another. This time I covered the book pages randomly with scrapbook paper that fit a general theme then when finished with that, went back and began to decorate it and am having a grand time. Before, I would decorate s I went so no surprises. You are so much a better artist than I.

And hugs back to Ohio!! Thanks very much for watching... more to come!!
Lovely feedback!! Thanks so much!!👍❤️😊
Hi! I enjoyed watching your process; TFS. I have been watching 49 dragonflies doing her altered bullet point book and came from her channel. ♥️
I have made well over 100 altered hardback journals but I use card stock to create 10 to 12 double-sided spreads. I add lace trim to each page. Usually I add a fabric cover but lately I made several without the fabric covers. I added a focal point on each one similar to how you showed the red florals you painted. Anyway, I really like these last three.
PS I am a brand new subscriber!
Fantastic!! Welcome on board... sounds like I can learn a lot from you. Thanks for visiting, joie 🌿🍄💜
I really love the mushroom pic that you did and it's a beautiful cover I think.
I've come here from Barbara at 49 dragonflies and I really like this idea and love watching what you both are going to come up with.
Fantastic Kelly, welcome!! 😁🍄💜
oh my goodness it was so pleasant to listen to you talk and watch you create this beauty. Thanks for not making it boring. Love your ideas.
Ooooh thanks very much Sherlene!! Great to meet you!🤓👍
I love this.... your freedom with art is what I love. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing
What a lovely thing to say....thank you Dee 😁❤️❤️❤️
I just started doing an altered book. Loved your videos and Barbara’s. Both of you do such great work. Keep doing what you do and, I hope you are feeling better 😋😋😋😋🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for inspiring us to create 🌻💖🎉
You're welcome 😁💜
The poem you wrote was perfect. I have just started a used book journal and loving it. Thanks for all the ideas.💜🦋😇💃🐠💍🍹🐝🐢🐠🌺🌻🍄🐚🥀
Awesome!! Today's new video might interest you... 15 different journal page ideas. Thanks so much for popping by to watch!! Joie 💜💐
I adore your accent, reminds me of Violet Buckle on Call the Midwife, I could listen to you all day.
I always turn to your videos when I need some inspiration and your lovely voice and calm energy. I truly hope your health is improving ❤
Little by little I'm getting better....day by day....
Wonderful tutorial. I've done several but not quite like you're doing. I quite like how you are using the page itself as a backdrop instead of covering it up with paper. Tfs Blessings
That's interesting Donna, I hadn't about it that way. I love still seeing the book page. And it's easy, which is good 😁 Sending hugs, joie 💜🌿🍄
Keep meaning to do an altered book so now you have inspired me to have a go, thank you.x
That's splendid Irene, keep me posted on your progress...I had a play with some ideas for the cover earlier today. So much fun!!!! 😁❣️🌿
Joie 🌿❣️
How encouraging! And, instructive. Thank you.
i love the whole page for the cover
SO helpful seeing how you choose a book! Thank you!
Thanks Diana 😊❣️
I've found some great old books, not expensive, in antique shops. Following this series, and maybe attempting an altered book myself. Tfs x
Awesome! Nice one Margaret. I like the sound of those shopping trips... lovely to look around for old books. Keep me posted on your progress!! 💜🍄🍁😁
I’m going to try to find another book,
Sounds great Linda
... Whatever works.... and different ideas are fun to try. Let's do this!!
I love this technique and I love what you did so far. I tried making an art journal once before but definitely chose the wrong book...it does make a difference! Thanks for the inspiration - I want to follow along with you on this journey!
Awesome... looking forward to doing this together, having fun along the way 👍🏻😁💜
People have been doing this for a few years now. UA-cam is flooded with videos showing this. Your voice is fun to listen to! Great to keep the momentum going!
Thanks very much.... it's new to me so I'm having fun learning. Welcome to my channel!!! Joie 💜🌿🍄
Loving those mushrooms, just gorgeous!!! Your book is going to be fab
Thanks Selina..I think mushrooms need to feature somehow... cute aren't they 😁💜
I love the way it is with the book pages. Shabbydabbydooddah definitely needs to be challenged to do this!!!
She absolutely does...and I think she is joining in... lovely to see you here Angel 😁👍🏻
You are such a gifted “instructor” ! Your calming voice and easy to following directions are brilliant! Thanks
Gosh, I'm feeling a bit emotional from this... Thank you so, so much 💜💜💜💜💜
Haven't played with altering a boom in quite a while even though I have 2 or 3 pulled for that purpose. Time to rip some pages out. Thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you so much for all the ongoing parcels and notes. 🤗❤️
How encouraging and instructive!
Very Pretty! You really do make it look fun & easy. Love the daisy & the “stitch” border!! ❤
Oh my! How perfect is this video!? It's exactly what I've been looking for as I'm planning on doing a memory / art journal for my children. An altered book will do the job. Thank you for sharing and being so methodical in your explanations. It really helps! I will truly enjoy this project. All the best to you!
And to you!! Keep me posted on your progress!!💜
Thank you for reading the poem. Delightful!
You're very welcome Allie!!😁❤️
I just love your “bit of fun” painting...it’s amazing
Awww...Noreen. You're very kind...👍🏻😁💜
This is lovely. I enjoy playing with paper, I had previously thought I would alter a book. With your inspiration I feel I need to get busy. Thank you for sharing!!! Blessings 🙏
Definitely get busy!! Let's do this 😁❣️
I have never done an altered book. I would like to try.
So very true Whitney. Welcome and thanks for sharing your thoughts. 😁🍄💜
What absolutely perfect ideas.... fantastic!! Thanks for sharing, for visiting again, and I do hope you will keep us all updated. Joie 💜🌿🍄
I have altered a couple or maybe 3. Tanya McGuire and I used altered books for our Fairy Journals. It is my favorite of the altered books I have done. I am looking forward to doing another one. They are a little addictive. Loved watching your process. Blessings.
Definitely addictive Lisa 👍🏻💜🍄
How nice collaboration with Barbara from 49dragonflies 🤩🤩🤩
You two are a great combo 👯♀️👯♀️👯♀️
I like your cover painting...it would be so nice if you tear it nicely and make a kind of collage or add fabric or lace!?!?
Have a great Sunday ☀️☀️☀️
Great ideas about the cover...thank you Victoria ❤️ and also for your lovely comment 👍🏻😁🍄💜
joie de fi you are welcome 🌸
I'm sure you will find a beautiful way to make your cover!!!
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the endless possibilities to do it... 🤯🤯🤯
Love the book page for the cover.
Me too Grace.... I'll have a think about that one😁💜👍🏻
I have altered a book but haven’t done anything with. I am encouraged to give it a try now. Thank you for the inspiration. ❣️❣️
You're very welcome Patricia! 😊💜
I’ve made many of these altered books. I feel like a little kid playing with my art supplies and the results are always satisfying. I’m going to “zoom craft” together with friends today. It’s become a Saturday ritual! Thank you for all of your inspiration.
Wow, Zoom craft is a fabulous idea.... Thanks for suggesting that.... ❤️❤️❤️
The poem is beautiful as are the pages...never thought to alter an old book...cant wait to do one. Thank you 🦋
Thank you so much. I have been searching for how to make an altered book and your explanation was wonderful.
Ooooh thank you!! I really appreciate that!! 😁💜🌿
I have made several altered book journals. Mostly in the way of Gayle Agostinelli. I have not sept one for me to work in but I think its time. You have inspired me with these pages. they are beautiful.
That's fantastic!! It's time in did some more too... Thanks for the nudge 😁❤️🌿
Thanks for sharing...I love your ideas 👏👏😀
I am just moved to the country side and we have a little second hand shop, and OMG 😱 they had a hole side of the the shop with books and a hole side( a very very very big wall with only OLD BOOKS 😩🤪🤪 my husband was with my so I could only buy a few books 😂🤣 5 small children books because they was so lovely.
When I came home I sew they was from 1856 😱😱 so I simply couldn’t cut them up. They are sitting in my living room 😍
My dream is now to make a library with only old beautiful books.
Do I sad I looove old books.😂😍
I simply must go to the shop when my craft room is finished. It isn’t a real room but the hall on the 1st floor of our house ( i don’t know the English word for it.) it is very big and have so much natural light from the 2 large windows in the roof.
We moved in 1.august so everything is new for us and still lots of moving boxes 🙂
Thanks again for sharing your beautiful creations
Blessings from Denmark 🇩🇰
Tina 💙🦋
Fantastic to hear all of this Tina...so many books!!! We do love them, especially those old ones 😁💜💜💜
Really beautiful and peaceful video Joie. Loved seeing a little of the outdoors too :)
Thanks Helen, and I appreciate your journaling tips! 😁💜🍄
I have just discovered Junk Journaling...and you! So much wonderful information and ideas here, I’m less intimidated after watching your video. Thank you!
I'm absolutely delighted to meet you.. welcome on board.!! 😁👍🏻💜💜💜
That's fabulous feedback, thanks Elizabeth, really supportive as well as helpful for me!! Enjoy!! Joie 💜🌿
What fun! Might try this for a month in my daily creative journal / fauxbonichi ! Thanks !
Definitely!!!! There's going to be a few more of us doing this going forward so feel free to share what you do widely and we can all take a look👍🏻😁❣️
Just getting into junk journaling and this video has so inspired me. Now I am going to raid all my old books and alter them. Thanks!! I have to watch all your videos now for more ideas!!
Ooh that's fantastic!! Welcome to a wonderful world of peaceful creativity!! Welcome to my channel Katerina!!🥰
@@joiedefi thank you!!
just a suggestion....I find if you alternate back to front when glueing your pages together...u get less of the crooked spine... it seems makes a great deal of difference doing it this way...hope it helps you as well...happy crafting...
Always helpful to get tips.... thanks for sharing Sandy. I'm a beginner at this, it's a lot of fun 👍🏻😁💜
Love the front page
That's great Kathye....😁👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
Such a lovely relaxing video, filled with great ideas... Guess what my next next next protect is? Lol XXX Trish
Absolutely beautiful Joie! And I just live the mushrooms! 🍄
Thank you so much for this video. I have never used an altered book but want to try after seeing this video. I love the simple way you explained everything.❤
Thanks so much Milagros Vega.... that's great to hear!! 😁❣️👍🏻
I gulp when I see so many pages being taken out 🤣🤣 great to hear about your progress Judy, awesome!! Well done!!👍🥰💜
Here in France there are loads of old books at second hand shops with amazing patina and covers :)
Ooohhh they sound amazing!!
I love this! Something that is doable for a beginner!
Hooray!!
love using an existing book.
👍💜
Absolutely gorgeous start and very informative about how to start
Oooh thanks Debby...💜😁🍄
Our libraries have bins FULL of books that are outdated and I got several free. I visited my son in Alabama and he had a complete set of 1963 encyclopedia and I brought those home. I think I am set for books for awhile :D
Tee hee😄 I'm jealous!!!👍💜🤣💐
@@joiedefi Ahhh, but the others aren't
really that old. I promise there's no way I can possibly tear up a book made before 1950, LOL
@@joiedefi Oh I have torn apart one of the encyclopedias, good grief what a challenge! Those staples are kind of scary! But imagine how many envelopes!
Lol😁😁
Indeed!!
Cuanto me alegra saber de que usted está bien y como lamento no poder entender sus maravillosas explicaciones.
Gracias por compartir y regalar momentos de alegrías.
Thank you Trini..... lovely comment, great to see you here again 😁💜👍🏻 Joie 🌿❣️
I've done both altered books and journals that I bound myself. They each have their own pluses and challenges. I love the way you do yours!
I'm still a beginner...sounds like you could help me if I get stuck ✔️👍🏻😁💜
Yes, I’ve done 2 and am currently doing another. This time I covered the book pages randomly with scrapbook paper that fit a general theme then when finished with that, went back and began to decorate it and am having a grand time. Before, I would decorate s I went so no surprises. You are so much a better artist than I.
I'm sure yours are brilliant!!👍😁❤️❤️❤️
